  10. Not really a blat, more like a bimble around in the dark this evening but still fun. Car a little reluctant to start so I’m glad I gave it a spin. Topped up with some Esso Supreme 99.

  12. The weather in Montana, USA is slowly shifting toward fall and my race season is starting to wind down. Due to family issues I’ve not done as many race days as I have in years past but I have no complaints. So far I have 13 days of racing (with 4 more on the schedule) and I’m proud to say that I’ve set FTD (Fast Time of Day) on all 13 days. The car has been working so very well and the suspension changes (custom homemade ARB in front combined with the Siltech +35 widetrack A arms) has made it much easier to drive at the limit - particularly in high speed ‘flick’ moves that used to unsettle the rear. The car is just plain easier to drive now and the easier it is to drive, the faster you can go. Two of these photos show the car being raced in Billings, Montana where the next fastest car was a full-race Lotus Elan. The event is run in a very large parking lot that has great grip but is a bit gritty and dusty. The 3rd photo was taken yesterday morning in Helena, Montana not long after sun rise. The air is smoky from the large wildfires hundreds of miles to the west in Idaho and Washington State. Behind my car is a full race supercharged Atom and a Winston Cup Car made to look like a Pontiac Fiero (full tube chassis, carbon panels, mid mounted LS V8, Porsche transaxle, 600 hp) that is a true ground pounder. When it launches you can feel the ground vibrate. Four more days of racing - wish me luck in getting a full 100% FTD rate! dave

  13. Met a nice chap today with an Eleven. He'd previously had a speedsport and a gt40 which he sadly lost in a garage fire.

  14. Just another Sunday, stood there in Matlock waiting for the others to turn up, behind me I heard the familiar roar of engines which indicates that Rob has arrived with his rabble, all quite ordinary until I looked at his car and saw something a bit odd. There was a passenger, his son I thought until I looked, then did a double take, 'is it?' the helmet came off and OMG, it was!! Rob was carrying a legend in his car. We needed a photo moment so here we are with Garry Bun. So that made my day and a big thank you to Rob for bringing Garry along. A good start and the rest of the day did not disappoint, all the tourists have departed and we had a free run of the routes and refreshment stops at last. But first we have a good tyre kick and fix everyones car in the car park. Oh yes Glen, Garry found a speck of dust on our car The car park at McD's Matlock Time for a drink after all that activity I picked a very scenic route with lots of twisties on, it was just lovely, especially because I had Dave right behind me sounding really quite awesome...and I am used to Andrew's V8 singing to me. With no delays we arrived at The Miner's Arms in the plague village of Eyam. Car park Some people were eating later and just had sandwiches but Glen and I opted for the beef Sunday lunch, no complaints at all, 15 people served in super quick time. The dining room The dinner Sat with the Rolls Royce with views over to the cars A few people left here and the rest of us went cake hunting. We found some in Massarella's and the sunshine even joined us. Carrot cake and Hummingbird cake. We asked what it was before ordering and the answer we got is completely different to what google tells you it is, so I have no idea for sure what it was but it was fruity and had coconut on top. It isn't my favourite kind of cake and I probably wouldn't choose it again but don't let it put you off trying it as there is nothing to dislike. Now where is the chocolate cake hey😀 The car park I can't tell you if the Andrew's had cake, they are slacking a bit I think and need @Andy Westwood to come and show them the way🤣 Today has been just a fantastic day with the great roads, views, food and the very best bit is you, the company. Bring on the winter, if you SORN your car you are insane, it just gets better from now on. See you next time XXXX
