The weather in Montana, USA is slowly shifting toward fall and my race season is starting to wind down. Due to family issues I’ve not done as many race days as I have in years past but I have no complaints. So far I have 13 days of racing (with 4 more on the schedule) and I’m proud to say that I’ve set FTD (Fast Time of Day) on all 13 days. The car has been working so very well and the suspension changes (custom homemade ARB in front combined with the Siltech +35 widetrack A arms) has made it much easier to drive at the limit - particularly in high speed ‘flick’ moves that used to unsettle the rear. The car is just plain easier to drive now and the easier it is to drive, the faster you can go. Two of these photos show the car being raced in Billings, Montana where the next fastest car was a full-race Lotus Elan. The event is run in a very large parking lot that has great grip but is a bit gritty and dusty. The 3rd photo was taken yesterday morning in Helena, Montana not long after sun rise. The air is smoky from the large wildfires hundreds of miles to the west in Idaho and Washington State. Behind my car is a full race supercharged Atom and a Winston Cup Car made to look like a Pontiac Fiero (full tube chassis, carbon panels, mid mounted LS V8, Porsche transaxle, 600 hp) that is a true ground pounder. When it launches you can feel the ground vibrate. Four more days of racing - wish me luck in getting a full 100% FTD rate! dave4 points

Thanks for the information Dave , I will not be handing out any information that’s got any times on it !!! I will send GPX files of my route , and if people want to follow it then it’s there choice , as for numbers I’m thinking 8 cars so we stand a chance of keeping them together and being able to park for coffee , lunch ect , again thanks for taking the time to send the reply and information , the routes I have were designed for motorbikes and can take 7hrs a day so for the cars I’m thinking 8-9 hrs ?1 point

So I bought the Westie in January with my wife telling me I was nuts and she didn't understand why I wanted a car like "that". Today she's taken it out by herself for the first time and now I find her studiously reading the new Westfield World that arrived today. Aside from hiding her booster cushion so she can't reach the pedals what should I do?1 point

I reckon I'd still be safe, my bench seat means that a big enough cushion would have her sat with about half her bum off the bottom bit of the seat! 🤣1 point

Went and sat in one yesterday and the good news is I loved the concept. The better news is I managed to get in ( and out) unaided. not sure this particular one was for me but the journey begins. Thanks for all the advice.1 point

Thank you to @Rob Hunter Derby & Notts AO for this event, it has been a fine gathering of motors of all sorts making for a very interesting morning. 2 hands and only 1 mouth hey Hedley😂 Our cute little MX5 that is such a pleasure to drive, love it. Derek's TR6, immaculate all round, lovely to see Overview of the parking area MX5 in disguise, limited edition MEV I wondered down to the paddock and took some photo's, when I got back and Glen saw this photo he asked if I had sneaked a crafty track moment in😀 At only £45 per car this day was a bargain Tim's ride for the day I was interested to see what tyres the MX5 owner's were using and it seems there is no hard and fast rules. I saw lot's of Nankang NS2R, Michelin Pilot Sport 4 on the racing car, ToyoT1R, Yokohama Advansport and many more. @NigelO still didn't wear his suit despite bringing his Aston Martin, never mind, it was still nice to see him and have our usual laughs. Great morning out, nice to be back at Curborough, we didn't realise how much we have missed it.1 point
