  2. Good run out today with 7 cars, 6 Westfields, @Paul Aspden in his Sylva and @Barnsley John on his pizza delivery bike. Meeting at the Motorist at 10, ready for a 10:30 start, we were delayed for a bit waiting for Gareth to get his car started. Loose wire on the solenoid. The car was good all day after that was fixed. Leaving around 11, our route through Cawood was diverted through some even smaller roads than normal due to a bike race. We made it to the A64, then followed some more minor roads to Malton, then to Pickering and the NY500. Bacon, fish finger sarnies and coffee was eaten, then off again. Paul, @Nicholas Rycroft and Julie left us there and headed for the coast leaving the rest of us to fuel up and head towards Helmsley, York then go our separate ways for home. Thanks to all who came, not sure how many miles we did as my tracking app stopped working after half a mile.

  6. Just another Sunday, stood there in Matlock waiting for the others to turn up, behind me I heard the familiar roar of engines which indicates that Rob has arrived with his rabble, all quite ordinary until I looked at his car and saw something a bit odd. There was a passenger, his son I thought until I looked, then did a double take, 'is it?' the helmet came off and OMG, it was!! Rob was carrying a legend in his car. We needed a photo moment so here we are with Garry Bun. So that made my day and a big thank you to Rob for bringing Garry along. A good start and the rest of the day did not disappoint, all the tourists have departed and we had a free run of the routes and refreshment stops at last. But first we have a good tyre kick and fix everyones car in the car park. Oh yes Glen, Garry found a speck of dust on our car The car park at McD's Matlock Time for a drink after all that activity I picked a very scenic route with lots of twisties on, it was just lovely, especially because I had Dave right behind me sounding really quite awesome...and I am used to Andrew's V8 singing to me. With no delays we arrived at The Miner's Arms in the plague village of Eyam. Car park Some people were eating later and just had sandwiches but Glen and I opted for the beef Sunday lunch, no complaints at all, 15 people served in super quick time. The dining room The dinner Sat with the Rolls Royce with views over to the cars A few people left here and the rest of us went cake hunting. We found some in Massarella's and the sunshine even joined us. Carrot cake and Hummingbird cake. We asked what it was before ordering and the answer we got is completely different to what google tells you it is, so I have no idea for sure what it was but it was fruity and had coconut on top. It isn't my favourite kind of cake and I probably wouldn't choose it again but don't let it put you off trying it as there is nothing to dislike. Now where is the chocolate cake hey😀 The car park I can't tell you if the Andrew's had cake, they are slacking a bit I think and need @Andy Westwood to come and show them the way🤣 Today has been just a fantastic day with the great roads, views, food and the very best bit is you, the company. Bring on the winter, if you SORN your car you are insane, it just gets better from now on. See you next time XXXX

  15. Thank you to @Rob Hunter Derby & Notts AO for this event, it has been a fine gathering of motors of all sorts making for a very interesting morning. 2 hands and only 1 mouth hey Hedley😂 Our cute little MX5 that is such a pleasure to drive, love it. Derek's TR6, immaculate all round, lovely to see Overview of the parking area MX5 in disguise, limited edition MEV I wondered down to the paddock and took some photo's, when I got back and Glen saw this photo he asked if I had sneaked a crafty track moment in😀 At only £45 per car this day was a bargain Tim's ride for the day I was interested to see what tyres the MX5 owner's were using and it seems there is no hard and fast rules. I saw lot's of Nankang NS2R, Michelin Pilot Sport 4 on the racing car, ToyoT1R, Yokohama Advansport and many more. @NigelO still didn't wear his suit despite bringing his Aston Martin, never mind, it was still nice to see him and have our usual laughs. Great morning out, nice to be back at Curborough, we didn't realise how much we have missed it.

  18. Westfield SEight 5.1 For sale I am reluctantly selling a very special Seight, this is a very much a one-off car with incredible performance, and numerous special components. Transmission 5 speed Rover R380 gearbox, (recently overhauled selector/grub screw mechanism) Race Line supplied Ford Sierra 7” diff with ZF LSD 3.38 ratio Steering / Suspension/Brakes Specifications for suspension and set-up development by head of Audi Chassis Dynamics (UK), while builder was testing at Nordschleife Nitron dampers, matched to springs Image 3 piece billet 15x7” wheels (1950’s/60’s Ferrari style) Nankang NS-2R 205/50/15 fitted at 12,500 miles Steering Rack - quick rack 2.1 turns lock to lock with stops BG quick release hub for 300mm steering wheel 4 pot front calipers with drilled / vented discs. Spare discs Sierra rear calipers with drilled / vented discs Instrumentation Stack ST8130 Digidash Plus with full parameter recording and lap timing DTA ECU providing traction control (on/off) and wet or dry; launch control Four wheel sensors for above. ECU accessed via DTA windows 10 software; RS232 interface and ‘dyno box’ to control during engine run. DTA ECU timing settings slightly changed from original to ensure running on 95Ron petrol - can easily be adjusted by laptop - I have Linx1010 set up to access ECU via RS232 and all connecting cables and intermediate rare dyno box - can be included in the deal. Builder believes change was unnecessary and 350BHP available. Has traction and launch control with the ecu. This car is seriously quick. But it’s super smooth so can be driven very calmly and is very comfortable for long distance touring. If you press the loud pedal it gains speed very quickly, pulls very strongly and will embarrass just about anything you are likely to come up against. The engine does rev very freely, it is definitely not a dull V8 by any means. The car will be supplied with 12 months MOT, I’m confident that this is one of the best built Seights out there and got to be one of the quickest Westfields on the road! Sold PM for phone number to discuss anything

  26. Sadly not Westy related (although a few were there) , I went to what could be the very last running of the New Brighton Stages Rally - an event close to my heart as being the venue of my first ever go at competitive driving. Seems the council are pulling their support for the event after 40 years as they have to order road closures etc, so quite well timed for me to catch the last one whist I am down here. And some spectators cars part of the North West Kit Car club back to the rally

  27. Early start for me this morning helping Gary fit some new wheels to the MEV Rocket before heading down to the Curburgring. The weather forecast was good, so of course I hit rain on the way down and then we had a bit more minutes after we all arrived 🤦‍♂️ Despite the changeable weather we had a great turnout with a good showing of Westfields (Tony, Colin, Stuart, Dale and myself) plus some of the local NWKCOG guys coming along too in a MEV, MK and GBS. Julie and Glen had driven down in their MX5, Nigel doing his James Bond impression in his beautiful Aston Martin and Del brought the gorgeous TR6 out to play. Tim also arrived up a little later with his son in his MX5. The damp weather made for some fun on track action with some over enthusiastic MX5 owners doing some artistic pirouettes in various places around the circuit, thankfully no harm done though (except some brown trousers I suspect! 😂). Great to see you all, hope you all got home safely 👍

  28. As a naturalised British citizen, I find myself surprisingly moved by the death of the Queen and grateful for her faultless service and duty with humility. A true inspiration in good times and bad. Her address of reassurance to the nation during the depths of the Covid crisis was a great comfort to me personally as someone at high risk. Thank you ma’am - rest well.

  30. As I simply can't compete with Gary's vistas, I parked the car yesterday in the shade and passing an upstairs window couldn't help but take this photo, not often do I get to see the car from above.
