I’m starting this thread to try to keep focus on achieving getting my car from its current location in Wokingham, Berkshire at my parents, down to my home in Crewkerne before the end of September. I moved from Surrey (Walton-on-Thames) a year ago, and have a perfectly adequate garage to keep it in down there, it just happens to be filled with the bits of a large shed which came down with us but we probably won’t need and various other junk which can be reorganised to make room. I’ve just ordered a Carcoon Evo indoor storage bubble to keep it protected from damp, and that says it will be back in stock in 13 days, so between getting back from hols and the end of September I need to get the garage cleared, and co-ordinate a one way trip up to Berkshire to collect the car. I’m then hoping to get along to one or two of the Dorset or Somerset group meets before the weather turns too bad. So, please keep me honest; about any encouragement, cajoling, even bullying into getting my bottom in gear appreciated. Gratuitous pictures of the car just because.3 points

@Rob Waldron I’ll be down the Crown Inn for the Dorset meet on Thursday with mine, its a wide body with lowered floors and floor mounted pedals. Happy for you to have a sit in it. If you can’t make it down I can pop across one night as I’m only in Ilminster 👍🏼3 points

Looks like you had a great time as you all ways do. we spent the weekend end camping in the peak district in the Flagg area, and was hoping to pop out and say hi but didn’t get chance so I did a little cake hunt down the Monsal Trail and stopped at the Quackers Café for cake and coffee (sorry no pics 😢). https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMNc6U31U/3 points

Yes it was - a team of WSCC members built it over the Stoneleigh weekend in the main hall ....... my foggy memory is now clearing 👍 it was a big attraction that year, crowds all weekend watching the WSCC guys build a car and asking loads of questions. 👍 Come on Blatters you must remember that one ....... cos we was both there 🤣 along with Rob Marshall, Mark Jackson, Ian Chas, Stu R, Paul Hurdsey and so many more who's names escape me, sorry 😉2 points

Sat here right now two things are true. 1. I should have taken a picture... and 2, I could have sworn it had 30th anniversary something embroidered in the head rests, but clearly I'm second guessing myself against your superior knowledge and that's never a winning strategy2 points

Well after having to work 6 days this week just so we could come and enjoy a day out with friends, even the weather was well behaved . Here’s some photos of the day taken by the better half ? The nice quiet back roads being followed by 2 breakfasts @BillyPee playing dodge the cyclist taking photos of silly people taking photos something is wonky !! Car, tree or horizon, take your pick but Becky says it’s not her and so much for the 4 week beach body diet…… and after drying the oil off the plug leads and tightening the cam cover bolts and still driving home farting popping and banging I can confirm it was f**** all to do with that 🤬 it was this so I apologise to all the people that I scared to death on the way home with the pops and bangs and the cars I held up trying to pull away from lights, junctions and islands . But thanks all for a great day out and see you all next time, luv Andy and Becky2 points

I have a head in very good condition which has just been serviced by an engineering firm and I have the bottom end to go with it which has been rebuilt. Since it was rebuilt it only completed less than 3000 miles. Long story short but I had a race engine given to me as a upgrade. Split this engine had lyons engineering to look and replace what was needed now its here waiting for a new home.1 point

The club brolly is a really good, well made golf umbrella style - i actually bought another when we got a fresh batch done, one for the westfield and one for general use kept at home by the fron door when not actually being used.1 point

Got the Rover stuff sorted out, today I spent a day looking at houses to buy, just window shopping at this point as I want to see what I can get down here for my Lancashire pound notes ( not a lot it turns out ...) I may have to look at places in North Wales as they seem more in my reach.1 point

We met at McD's and ABC proudly showed us the mighty Rover 3.9l V8 and that he had tidied up the wiring after issues with the fuel pump last week Soon Bagpuss roared into the car park the line up just before Andy and Becky arrived The first car in shot is David and Freddie's, a Duratec engined car that will be for sale very soon The Duratec engine bay Everyone likes to pour over engine bays After a refreshment stop some folk had other plans and went on their way. The rest followed us for a photo shoot on Longstone Edge As shown in the previous post, Ian also took some photo's, photographing you photographing me. I don't know who is the daftest here, you or me. Anyway, we dropped down the road to the Yondermann to find it was full, no FULL, of motorbikes so off we went to the garden centre at Chatsworth. There wasn't one single motorbike, cyclist or hiker there, so don't go telling them that it is a great place to eat and not at all like up at the posh house. A few more peeled off at this point, leaving a line up of 5 cars. Chatsworth car park ABC went for their very delicious Sunday Roast And just in case Clare wasn't feeding him later (unlikely) he had Roulade for afters It was all calm at this point, but we had 2 of the 3 Andy's around the table, it could get messy The 2 Andy's are sat next to each other, it won't end well......and now the cakes have arrived OMG, @Andy Westwood, stop sunbathing on that beach and get yourself in the middle of these 2 I sat at the opposite end of the table to be safe, nowhere is safe After the bun fight we got down to some more serious stuff, Andy's @aeg car was only firing on 3 cylinders and it had to be investigated in the car park. To find that there is a leak on the rocker cover gasket causing oil to go into the plughole Now is a good time to remind everyone who owns a Westfield to go and check if the bolts have worked loose on the rocker cover, with all the vibration it does happen. Thank you to Rob for bringing the cars up from the Southern part of our area and to Ian for the photo's and Bagpuss TV. We hope everyone enjoyed the run, scenery and quiet back roads, not to mention cake, thanks for coming everyone and see you next time.1 point

A few pics from me. We did discuss the Air ambulance at lunch and I was sorry to see it at work in Hartington. A biker down, road closed and at least 5 police cars, one Ambulance and a helicopter in attendance. A sobering reminder of what can go wrong even on dry, sunny roads. T The start line at McD- We were snapped in Matlock too- https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?vanity=madhead69&set=a.5762495767094361 A brief video- A popular peaky (dogging spot), sorry, view point I'm not trying to prove @BillyPee is two feet tall, honnestly 😉 A great run with great company and good to have 'Mad dog' Pete Clarke in the passenger seat.1 point

Upon opening the curtains this morning, rain - legging it down... Great another day wasted. However by mid morning it had stopped and by lunchtime the roads were dry again, YAY.. First call as I mentioned above was to an old friend from my Triumph days, he now owns Llangollen motor muesum , since it was left to him after his father passed on. Many great thing lay inside Huge prize if you know what this is ? ^^^^^ Far too many to post here , and if I did you won't need to visit would you?. Anyway, leaving my friend to continue restoring his cars, I took the scenic way back over the Horseshoe Pass, Denbighshire ,weather was just right and the roads over that way are stunning for our cars. On the way up Anyone for some slate ?. And then at the peak, stunning views Sandwiches and soft drink consumed, I left Denbighshire to head to Flintshire, this was another find the owner of a house task. Having located around a few dozen photos from the 1920;s up the the 1980;s when my great grandmother died, Sadly the owners were not in. I went old school on the way home Got home just before it got dark, then spent an hour getting the mud and other things of the car erm, something died this afternoon 🙁 I was at loggerheads as wether or not to get fuel today ?, 🤣 More Welsh runs planned More soon1 point

Hi everybody, time has come to introduce myself. I'm Pierre, french guy, 51 year old, living in north of France. In may this year an opportunity to buy a Westfield came to me, and so I did. It's a factory built ZEI 1800 first reg 1999. Not over powered (118bhp), but a nice example to start with. Full stock, red, underslung exhaust, only 19000 miles from new! First question : how can I share pictures here? the last past months I gave it a good overhaul, changing sensors, timing belt, new exhaust, new ignition coil and plugs, new fuel filter, air filter cleaned up, etc... car is running fine but still got same problem since I own it : ignition cuts randomly. Everytime engine starts again so I never had to pull over, although I'm still trying to find out and running out of ideas... In the meantime I started to go into the IVA process here in France. I read here in another thread that ZEI were made to get European approval type, so I hope that'll be not that tricky! Cheers, Pierre.1 point
