  2. Welcome to the club. Green, the best colour 👍. Travelling in a convoy is brilliant and I am glad you enjoyed it, I have followed Robin a few times and he is a considerate leader, you will be well looked after in the Yorkshire group. Don't be shy at heading South and joining us in the Peak District either. Happy motoring!

  5. Please can I remind everyone using the for-sale section, to take a read of the "rules", here, before either starting an advert, or responding in someone else's. In particular, when going to post on an existing advert, stop, make sure you've read this: and consider what you're about to post. As above, a certain amount of "helpful" to the seller drift will be permitted, as it keeps the advert active, and up the list. But please ensure any such posts are respectful, and not the starting point for debate! Posts that are considered not in the spirit of the original adverts will be removed by the moderation team. However, if an advert raises a question for you, or you wish to discuss, generally, something about an item for sale. Then you absolutely can start a thread in the relevant forum section, Tech Talk for technical queries, the Start Line for more general queries/discussions. If you have a question regarding the price of something in an advert, it is better to discuss directly with the owner of the item for sale, via PM, where possible. Please treat each other, and the adverts with respect and courtesy, and remember, it may be you with something to sell one day!

  6. Welcome John, great to have you on board. I'm so glad you enjoyed your run, and hope you'll join us for many more! You're in the happy hunting grounds of three very active areas; Robin, Yorkshire Area Organiser who you've met, Rob, Derby & Notts AO, who's post is just above mine, and @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative who is the Peak District AO. Between them there's rarely more than a couple of weeks between something on, during the spring and summer and autumn. Weather permitting, the hardy ones carry on through the winter too! (Fancy dress Santa run just before Christmas in the Peaks is always fun!!) As Rob said, many of us do like visiting the GBS cars and coffee events, especially when the BBQ comes out for the German brat and currywurst guy in the Autumn/Winter!! We love seeing and reading about different makes and models of car, too, so please don't be shy in posting! (Hint, you're off to a great start, but we love pictures!!)

  7. I like that term, Tony, and I hope you and everyone else that joins us feels welcomed and looked after. We all met at Hulme End Tea Junction, it made a nice change to meet there, as we drove through Matlock Bath all the scooters were gathering for a large meet, which was lovely to see. Hulme End We sat overlooking the car park First meal of the day The best bit about meeting at Hulme End is that we get to drive the Crowdecote road on the way out. You can see right up it before you drive it and I could see a milk tanker on it's way down, so we all patiently waited for it to pass, then it was brrrum......ha until there was a cyclist on one of the really nice tight bends and I took that at 1 mph, never mind. Hat off to the cyclist for attempting such a hill, I have never seen one on there before, although we cycle the opposite side of the valley which is fairly tough. The next challenge was on the lovely twisty Miller's Dale road. There were a lot of fresh twigs on the road and I was thinking that there would be something big ahead of me, then an oncoming car flashed me.....sure enough a tree had been bought down onto the road. Luckily we could get past and we all agreed later that it was probably a hay lorry that bought it down. The country roads really are the most dangerous. For me the challenges make the driving interesting and we had a good, flowing run on quiet roads meaning that we arrived at the Traveller's Rest in perfect time. ABC had told me earlier that he was having problems with his fuel pump and he would meet us there, and sure enough he and Peter were waiting for us. Our new member, Tony, had only owned his car for 6 weeks and everyone wanted to offer advice so it was not long before the bonnet came off, to show the 1.8 Zetec on Webers. It was a lovely car, purchased from Toybox and Tony was pleased with it. Very soon Paul took his bonnet off as he also has a Zetec on Webers and the knowledge flowed, how lovely. The Traveller's Rest Paul bought his Australian nephew, David, along for a ride and he looked like he was really enjoying it. It was great for us to be able to learn what life is like on the other side of the world too, very interesting, a pleasure to meet you sir. After a hearty lunch, or a kids one if your name is Chris 😁, the two Billy's and Paul and David carried on in a Northerly direction and we went cake hunting. With a lack of Andy's present we took advantage and headed for Chatsworth to see who could get the biggest portion. Chatsworth car park I was guarding our '4 pick and mix' cakes ABC definitely won the 'largest slice' prize Chris was pacing himself for the large meal waiting at home later Glynn and Tony were right up there with ABC hogging the big slices of roulade Oh we have fun over these cakes, they are unbeatable and if they are good enough for the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire then they will do for us. It has been another great day out, lovely views, roads, even some cow poo to moan about, we have had it all THANKS FOR COMING EVERYONE XXX

  8. Meet at McDonalds, Bakewell Rd, Matlock, DE4 3AU at 10am. After refreshment's we will go for a run round on the back lanes to avoid the Bank Holiday tourist traffic and finish off with a nice lunch somewhere. Who is coming?

  9. Hi everybody, time has come to introduce myself. I'm Pierre, french guy, 51 year old, living in north of France. In may this year an opportunity to buy a Westfield came to me, and so I did. It's a factory built ZEI 1800 first reg 1999. Not over powered (118bhp), but a nice example to start with. Full stock, red, underslung exhaust, only 19000 miles from new! First question : how can I share pictures here? the last past months I gave it a good overhaul, changing sensors, timing belt, new exhaust, new ignition coil and plugs, new fuel filter, air filter cleaned up, etc... car is running fine but still got same problem since I own it : ignition cuts randomly. Everytime engine starts again so I never had to pull over, although I'm still trying to find out and running out of ideas... In the meantime I started to go into the IVA process here in France. I read here in another thread that ZEI were made to get European approval type, so I hope that'll be not that tricky! Cheers, Pierre.

  12. I'm following the sale of the first Midlana on Bring a Trailer at the moment (a US auction site). It's a prime example of what happens when rules like this don't exist and a sale is open to comments from all & sundry. Frankly, it's an utter ****-show!! It's like having an actual auction held in a football stadium with 20,000 randoms shouting abuse and talking trash about the items for sale, none of whom have any interest whatsoever in ever buying anything.

  14. This is the one i ordered (x2 of) whe i fitted the Go-race upper column. It needed a slight sand down externally to fit but really easy and no rattle/vibe now. They do a full range of sizes so best measure inner housing dia and column dia first as Go-Race is smaller.

  19. A fairly standard module kit built example with 12300 miles now showing. Mot due at the end of September. A road focused car currently fitted with inertia reel belts and upholstered seats. 4 point harnesses included in sale. Full weather gear and heater plus locking boot and spare wheel. Attractively presented with many Toybox features. 4 previous owners plus myself for the last 2 years. No track day use by me in that time. Unfortunately I can’t be sure regarding previous owners. I noticed that some photos are upside down etc but I don’t know how to change them as I am a technology challenged pensioner. £12,000 o.n.o. Mel Woodman 07929426156 location just outside Bridgnorth West Midlands

  26. thanks for the advice. Gurston Down showed me it wasn't about raw speed and acceleration, it was all about conserving momentum and good lines. I am not planning to beef up the road going westy performance, want to see if I can do it old school, i.e. drive there in the car do the sprint or hill climb, don't come last and then hopefully drive home. Thats the plan anyway.

  31. Hi, thanks for your welcoming. ci_newman, yes you're right, sharing experience is good sometimes 😊 , and I'll give a try to what you wrote. My bad, I confess, only realised after posting that I already bent the basic rules. If the issue was to last, I'll create another thread in the appropriate area. Cheers, Pierre.

  32. I’m posting this advert on behalf of Steve’s wife Dawn. So, here for sale is a very well built and documented Westfield Sport 250 built by Steve (Bugman) before he sadly passed away. The initial Idea was for Dawn to keep the car and eventually hand it down to Josh but insurance prices and his age make that in-achievable. Anyway, This is Steve’s build diary for anyone with any questions regarding what’s in the car and how it was built. 2018 Post office Red Westfield Sport 250, FW rear end with a V8 bonnet upfront. 2700 miles from new MOT until Jan 2023 2.0 Ford Ecoboost engine Mazda NC 5 speed gearbox Sport turbo seats AIM Dash Widetrack Front Suspension Wet weather Gear (Roof & doors) Removable Steering Whee + loads more Steve had lots of electrical/mechanical upgrades planned for the car which will all be included in the sale. Some of these include extra ducts for cooling, switches for a new dash layout and a Carbon Fibre front splitter £28000 Anyone interested can contact Dawn on 07896067600.
