I like that term, Tony, and I hope you and everyone else that joins us feels welcomed and looked after. We all met at Hulme End Tea Junction, it made a nice change to meet there, as we drove through Matlock Bath all the scooters were gathering for a large meet, which was lovely to see. Hulme End We sat overlooking the car park First meal of the day The best bit about meeting at Hulme End is that we get to drive the Crowdecote road on the way out. You can see right up it before you drive it and I could see a milk tanker on it's way down, so we all patiently waited for it to pass, then it was brrrum......ha until there was a cyclist on one of the really nice tight bends and I took that at 1 mph, never mind. Hat off to the cyclist for attempting such a hill, I have never seen one on there before, although we cycle the opposite side of the valley which is fairly tough. The next challenge was on the lovely twisty Miller's Dale road. There were a lot of fresh twigs on the road and I was thinking that there would be something big ahead of me, then an oncoming car flashed me.....sure enough a tree had been bought down onto the road. Luckily we could get past and we all agreed later that it was probably a hay lorry that bought it down. The country roads really are the most dangerous. For me the challenges make the driving interesting and we had a good, flowing run on quiet roads meaning that we arrived at the Traveller's Rest in perfect time. ABC had told me earlier that he was having problems with his fuel pump and he would meet us there, and sure enough he and Peter were waiting for us. Our new member, Tony, had only owned his car for 6 weeks and everyone wanted to offer advice so it was not long before the bonnet came off, to show the 1.8 Zetec on Webers. It was a lovely car, purchased from Toybox and Tony was pleased with it. Very soon Paul took his bonnet off as he also has a Zetec on Webers and the knowledge flowed, how lovely. The Traveller's Rest Paul bought his Australian nephew, David, along for a ride and he looked like he was really enjoying it. It was great for us to be able to learn what life is like on the other side of the world too, very interesting, a pleasure to meet you sir. After a hearty lunch, or a kids one if your name is Chris 😁, the two Billy's and Paul and David carried on in a Northerly direction and we went cake hunting. With a lack of Andy's present we took advantage and headed for Chatsworth to see who could get the biggest portion. Chatsworth car park I was guarding our '4 pick and mix' cakes ABC definitely won the 'largest slice' prize Chris was pacing himself for the large meal waiting at home later Glynn and Tony were right up there with ABC hogging the big slices of roulade Oh we have fun over these cakes, they are unbeatable and if they are good enough for the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire then they will do for us. It has been another great day out, lovely views, roads, even some cow poo to moan about, we have had it all THANKS FOR COMING EVERYONE XXX8 points

Please can I remind everyone using the for-sale section, to take a read of the "rules", here, before either starting an advert, or responding in someone else's. In particular, when going to post on an existing advert, stop, make sure you've read this: and consider what you're about to post. As above, a certain amount of "helpful" to the seller drift will be permitted, as it keeps the advert active, and up the list. But please ensure any such posts are respectful, and not the starting point for debate! Posts that are considered not in the spirit of the original adverts will be removed by the moderation team. However, if an advert raises a question for you, or you wish to discuss, generally, something about an item for sale. Then you absolutely can start a thread in the relevant forum section, Tech Talk for technical queries, the Start Line for more general queries/discussions. If you have a question regarding the price of something in an advert, it is better to discuss directly with the owner of the item for sale, via PM, where possible. Please treat each other, and the adverts with respect and courtesy, and remember, it may be you with something to sell one day!3 points

Have been speaking to Christoph A W Bettag, who many will know already for their super carbon fibre products. Christoph was the German distributor for Westfield previously, although really, they were much, much more than simply a distributor; not only stocking more than the factory used to, but designing and making their own parts too. (Some of which were so good, the factory rather cheekily copied!!) They even make complete, brand new bodywork, in carbon fibre; it's subtly different, (well, improved), from the WSC Ltd design, so no IP issues what so ever. The contact details Christoph supplied are as below: e-mail : kontakt@belecon.de by WhatsApp at +49 171 55 40 600 our current shop for carbon parts is here : https://shop.tofugarage.com/#!/~/search/keyword=carbon Christoph commenting on some of his future plans: If your pockets are deep enough, they can supply a full carbon body... I started sprinting / Hillclimbing a few years ago after a long lay off from rallying. YES! It does hurt the wallet especially if your a competitive person and your chasing class wins and pb's etc. The great thing is the friends you gain, like minded people you meet that you get to know once you do a round or 2 of a championship and before you know it your one of the lads and its great. Just go out there and enjoy it. If ur any good you will beat your fellow competition with bigger power and better set up cars, as alot of ****e drivers think that to go fast they need to spend big money. Do your home work, gain experience, improve your driving skills but enjoy.. simple.3 points

thanks for the advice. Gurston Down showed me it wasn't about raw speed and acceleration, it was all about conserving momentum and good lines. I am not planning to beef up the road going westy performance, want to see if I can do it old school, i.e. drive there in the car do the sprint or hill climb, don't come last and then hopefully drive home. Thats the plan anyway.1 point

Westfield pre-lit definitely (probably late 87) ................. registered incorrectly as a Lotus 7 ............. The paperwork to re-register it correctly would be frightening, if not impossible.1 point

No need - its 100% not a lotus. Its a Westfield pre lit and not even an early aluminium one. Totally bogus.1 point

Appreciate the feedback, so basically it's a frankenstein 😜 i'll be moving on, plenty good Westfields around at half the price, i'll find my match soon enough. thanks.1 point

And we are back, hopefully as long as the weather holds, this week should see a few North Wales trips, most of which are planned already , so we will see how we go. Following yesterdays initial test of the new diff, I took the car out again today for a bit of motorway driving as well as B roads, car went well and no leaks or noises (so far) . This photo is of a house I was hoping to talk with the present owner about. I had found a load of old photos of the same house one of which dates to at least 100 years ago ( if not more) and thought the current owners might like it, sadly no one was in, so will call back in the week.1 point

Many of you will know me as I have been in the club over 30 years and previously exhibited at Stoneleigh and enter the WSCC Speed series and have built and still own Westfields. But a quick intro about us. First thing is we are not the factory but are the largest stockist of car seats in the UK and probably the world. We are based in Edenbridge Kent. We have a small showroom where you can try seats. It all came about when I bought a second hand sport 2000S car around 2008 that was fitted with Westfield race seats. Being a well built lad who likes his ice creams I didn't really fit. A trip to Autosport the next January and I came across Tillett. Long story short but a B5 was perfect for me but nobody carried stock and the factory lead time then was about 8 weeks. So I became a stocking reseller and a few months later took delivery of about 50 seats. It's not our main business which is air conditioning but it is a fun sideline and introduces me to some great people and projects. And that is our model - to sell from stock which seems quite unusual in the motorsport world. The range of seats has expanded including the FIA seats and so has our stock holding. Lead times vary from 8 weeks to over 30 weeks depending upon the model and time of year. We sell about 200 - 250 seats a year and ship all around the world as well. We offer a special discount to WSCC members only given our background. Tillett are not cheap but they are the best shell seat in terms of shape and rigidity. The seat is your contact point with the car so must be correct. Feel free to call us if you need any advice whether for Westfield or any other car you may own. By appointment you are welcome to pop in and try the seats too. David1 point
