Have been speaking to Christoph A W Bettag, who many will know already for their super carbon fibre products. Christoph was the German distributor for Westfield previously, although really, they were much, much more than simply a distributor; not only stocking more than the factory used to, but designing and making their own parts too. (Some of which were so good, the factory rather cheekily copied!!) They even make complete, brand new bodywork, in carbon fibre; it's subtly different, (well, improved), from the WSC Ltd design, so no IP issues what so ever. The contact details Christoph supplied are as below: e-mail : kontakt@belecon.de by WhatsApp at +49 171 55 40 600 our current shop for carbon parts is here : https://shop.tofugarage.com/#!/~/search/keyword=carbon Christoph commenting on some of his future plans: If your pockets are deep enough, they can supply a full carbon body... The irritating thing is that my reading of the company accounts is that the real drain on the cash resources was Westfield Autonomous Vehicles Ltd., ie the pod developer, which was hopelessly insolvent. Although Westfield Sportscars owed a large sum to its immediate parent, Autonomous in turn owed a similar amount to Sportscars. So if the administrators saw fit, the Sportscar company is saleable on its own, whereas the autonomous vehicle operation needs a very different sort of buyer, with a deep enough pocket to complete its development and marketing.3 points

Ok my nephew from Sydney, Australia is in the UK for the first time, and he wants a ride in my Westfield, so it looks like we will be joining you tomorrow.👍2 points

That is my readings of the situation too. as Westfield autonomous vehicles are a completely separate company to the sports car business it does appear from the administration documents for both companies that they are being treated separately rather than trying to be sold together though. reading between the lines for the sports car business I get the impression that they’re struggling to find a buyer that wants to take on everything (i.e. sports cars, Chesil, XI, GTM etc) but rather the offers they have had are only for certain parts. But that’s only my speculation.2 points

And we are back, hopefully as long as the weather holds, this week should see a few North Wales trips, most of which are planned already , so we will see how we go. Following yesterdays initial test of the new diff, I took the car out again today for a bit of motorway driving as well as B roads, car went well and no leaks or noises (so far) . This photo is of a house I was hoping to talk with the present owner about. I had found a load of old photos of the same house one of which dates to at least 100 years ago ( if not more) and thought the current owners might like it, sadly no one was in, so will call back in the week.1 point

It might fundamentally be a decent car, but ultimately it’s being passed off as something it isn’t, and someone has gone to great lengths to do so. To me, personally, it makes it something to steer we’ll clear of, as. You have no idea what other liberties with the truth have been taken, whether it be condition of parts, specification of parts or whatever. (Incidentally, the current seller may well be completely unaware of all this)1 point

Later GRP bodied Westfield pre-lit which fits with the 1988 chassis number. dressed up and pretending to be a Lotus which it definitely is not.1 point

They mention custom sizes, may be worth a try to see if you can get one a bit bigger than 160cm but not by too much1 point

As some of you may know I am using my 2007 MX5 to sprint hill climb this year as the Westfield is off the road at the moment. I know that there are others out there that use MX5s for trackdays and competition. They are great cars but can be a tight fit if you are over 6 feet and need to wear a helmet. Tillett have launched special brackets to fit seats into all versions of the MX5. Feel free to contact me if of interest. Regards David1 point
