  6. Hi Brad, I met you (and everyone else there) briefly on Saturday morning at the start of the day. I was Stephen's navigator. This was a first for me, as my nav skills probably demonstrated 🤪. I had a great day and a lot of laughs, especially at the doubling back parts. I just wanted to day a huge thank you for what has been the best day out I've had in a very long time. Truly appreciate all the effort you put into this.👍 Cheers, Craig

  7. It just goes to show you can't beat a bit of paper and a good memory, beats silly sat navs any day. Glad you all had a good run out and we thought about you all day, we even had cake for breakfast at Brantwood on Coniston Water. Sorry to miss our new people, @Steve Bosworth and Vicky and hope to see you next time. @neptune hope your car is easily fixable? Normal service will resume next Sunday. Lots of love from Glen and Julie, holiday extraordinaire's

  10. I'm back again. This was for sale back in June but i had a change of heart and kept the car. Well yesterday i put a deposit on a more track focused kit car ( going to dark side with an MNR Vortx....sorry )and as much as i would love to keep this for the road i just don't have the room. It is a 1999 SEIW car on a V plate and it's fair to say it is in amazing condition for it's year. I looked at a view before buying this one It's running a Vauxhall 2 litre engine with a Garrett turbo. Custom built plenum , high capacity ducted radiator, blue Samco hoses, oil catch tank , facet fuel pump with swirl pot and pressure regulator , custom headers heat wrapped and DTA ecu.All engine sensors replaced 18 mths ago. Battery is fitted in the boot. Gearbox is a 5 speed Ford type 9 with a SDC performance clutch and a 3.28 limited slip diff Interior is all in blue with very comfortable Westfield sports seat on adjustable runners ( i'm 6ft 2 and could fit in it all ok ). Quick release steering wheel , USB and power plug point , passenger footrest.New just fitted Luke seat harnesses Wide track front with adjustable shocks all round. Front and rear anti roll bars Team dynamic 15 inch wheels running 205 front and 225 rear Toyo R888 tyres ( rears have only done 500 miles ).Hi spec 4 pot front calipers and braided brake lines all round on vented brake discs. Bodywork is in gleaming yellow and is in very good condition. V8 style bonnet. It comes with side doors , Soft bits roof with it's own bag and a full weather roof too, all in blue to match the interior. Carbon effect rear arch stone guards. RAC roll bar with new rose joints. Just fitted new NV carbon performance front muduards, rear boot cover and rear diffuser. Lights are LED front and clear rear lights with LED fog and reversing lights. Front indictors are mini motorbike LED ones. In May i took the car to BHPerformance . It started off at 210bhp and by the end of some mapping made 245 bhp with 231 ft/lb of torque. The car was still making power but the injectors were maxed out so with some VXR injectors and then advancing the ignition i was told there is more to come. To be honest it's quick enough as it is and it pulls like a train. I had the car serviced with oil and filter, new spark plugs in April and it has MOT till 21/04/2023. The mileage is now 17800 ( ish ). It went in for a coolant change a few weeks ago at the start of August and at that time it was noticed that a seal had gone on one of the drive shafts and was just starting to leak a very small amount. I could have just ignored it and sold the car but i want it doing as i want to sell it how i would expect to buy it. It's currently sat at Classics sports cars in Stourport waiting on the seal to be changed, they are very busy there so hoping to have it back towards the end August I've got loads of old MOT'S and folder full of invoices and the yellow front mudguards. I'm based in Walsall, West Mids. £13000

  16. Hi Guys What a fantastic day and a huge well done to Brad and Diane for all the hard work involved in pulling all this together. Cant wait for next year and was so close to the end. Hopefully I’ll get to finish next time. (Think I’ve ran out of excuses now lol ) Yeah what was that gloop stuck to the cars .. lol Definitely picked the right day, went back up to Biggar the next day to visit the car show and spent 1hr in traffic on the high street with the stress of the westie overheating 🥵.. not nice at all !! Anyway I’d mentioned about making a video and posting it on here. It’s currently getting uploaded so watch this space and I’ll share the link asap 😁😁. Thanks again everyone for a great day !!

  20. Thanks to everyone who joined the run this year, especially Brian and Dave'n'Jen who've made it 3 for 3. The weather was great, though maybe a little too hot and no wind (back of my neck is a bit scorched), the roads were near empty, and a lovely evening at the hotel with some bevvies and banter. The only thing missing was a few more cars to make the day even more fun. And a nod to Brian who was the only one to not miss a beat yesterday (no lost, no cheat, no emergency envelope open), while man-handling his V8 brutus, and solo to boot! Cheers, Brad and Diane

  21. Once again, a good days route challenge from Brad and Diane over a rural area of the borders, with surprisingly little traffic. All the hours (days) of preparation and professional route cards were much appreciated. Well done to Brian, who showed us all how navigate properly, despite being solo in the V8! Dave and Jen

  22. What a day!! Firstly let’s deal with the weather. It was blinking hot. Left home at 7.30am wearing shirt sleeves and shorts with no jumper. Just about ok. By the time we arrived at Matlock, shirt sleeves were getting a bit much. It only got hotter from there. Mad Dog Pete was living up to his nickname and dressing for -5 instead of the +30 and trying to look miserable when a camera is produced. At Matlock McD, we were joined by Dave Eastwood, Andy Dowler with Co pilot Oscar, Andy Westwood with Sue, Martin, Ian Kinder and Steve Bosworth with Co pilot Vicky (hopefully got that right as hopeless with names!) Ian left as he had family commitments and Martin didn’t come with us on the trip as his car needed attention and he had come in his tin top. Andy and Becky were going to come but poor Andy was not feeling good - I have commiserated and sent him a photo of our cake to cheer him up!! So a convoy of 5 with no red ones for a change (they were probably all together at Curbrough) left Matlock and we made our way via the smaller roads to Edale and The Rambler Inn. It is tradition to park prettily for photos but Andy Westwood didn’t so his car didn’t make the cut. 😁 I don’t know how Andy Westwood consumes so much. Look at the size of his dinner! This is just the first course and he also ‘helped’ with Sue’s. After dinner Andy Dowler left and the remaining partly cooked nutters moved on again via the small roads to The Stone Centre in Wirksworth where cakes were consumed. I’m certainly not in the running to take over from our esteemed leader @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative and there was quite a lot of luck involved such as the prime parking being available at The Rambler Inn and getting to the Stone Centre 5min before closing time and finding the car park empty. Must just note that due to an IT hiccup on Saturday evening, my TomTom would not load the designed route. Hastily written crib sheets were made and Mad Dog Pete saved the day by constantly updating the route as we went. Couldn’t have done it without him. 2 hour drive from Wirksworth got us home. 6hrs of Westfield driving in an oven. Nothing like it. Batton passed back to Julie when she stops pretending to be Alan Wicker and returns home for at least one weekend. Thanks everyone for coming. Hope you got home ok.

  23. Thanks @AndrewBClarkefor a great run around the Peaks. @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative would have been proud of your great route planning. We both had a great day with great company. Though you didn't find a cow muck🤣you did find a narrow road with about twenty plus tractors coming towards us🤣the last one being the the biggest. Thanks again for doing a brilliant job today.

  38. After a lot of soul searching and a few drives in my Westfield i have decided to keep the car so it's no longer for sale. Bang for buck i've never been in a car that goes so well and makes my giggle like a little kid. You watch it rain for the rest of the year now so i can't use it 😂

  44. Got this over 25 years ago. Shell used to issue vouchers whenever fuel was bought. These could be used to get things like this lego model. It was probably cheaper just to go and buy the model but i didn’t say that to Mrs A.
