  2. I’m posting this advert on behalf of Steve’s wife Dawn. So, here for sale is a very well built and documented Westfield Sport 250 built by Steve (Bugman) before he sadly passed away. The initial Idea was for Dawn to keep the car and eventually hand it down to Josh but insurance prices and his age make that in-achievable. Anyway, This is Steve’s build diary for anyone with any questions regarding what’s in the car and how it was built. 2018 Post office Red Westfield Sport 250, FW rear end with a V8 bonnet upfront. 2700 miles from new MOT until Jan 2023 2.0 Ford Ecoboost engine Mazda NC 5 speed gearbox Sport turbo seats AIM Dash Widetrack Front Suspension Wet weather Gear (Roof & doors) Removable Steering Whee + loads more Steve had lots of electrical/mechanical upgrades planned for the car which will all be included in the sale. Some of these include extra ducts for cooling, switches for a new dash layout and a Carbon Fibre front splitter £28000 Anyone interested can contact Dawn on 07896067600.

  4. Hi all, I'm now the owner of a FW300 fitted with a Zetec 2.0 Blacktop (well, the top is black at least), non-road-legal since I aim and use it only for trackdays. I used it twice on circuits in France recently (Pouilly, very short one, and Bresse, which is the closest to Switzerland) and lots of possible improvements are now on my list, which I believe is the fate of any Westie possessor. Happy to join you, and hope to be able to share some worthwhile experience in the near future.

  6. Over the years I've started to collect power tools (Ryobi) and was always struggling to store them. Then I spotted But at nearly £100 a little over the top. Then discovered a whole world of DIY solutions But that's effort, meh So onto Amazon and noticed these under cupboard glass holders And with a little imagination (and bending the metal guides) ended up with All for £11 👍

  7. A very difficult, but totally understandable position. Good luck with the sale, lets home it finds an owner to really appreciate all Bugman's fine work!

  8. Be aware that the WSCC does NOT organise any Trackdays, though we do piggy back on to track days organised by others. (Blyton, for instance). We also have a few AO's that are great at organising private trackdays for other members, but again, these are not WSCC organised events. (I'd hate anyone to come a cropper insurance wise, through a misunderstanding)

  9. Yes folks you have read this right, we will not be meeting on Wednesday at the Horton Arms. instead we are going to try a breakfast run, meeting at Sycamore Farm. Liverpool Rd, Burnley BB12 6HH at 9.30. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Sycamore+Farm+-+Dining+%26+Carvery/@53.7898105,-2.2862161,201m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x487b97599b808661:0x5ad1bb2c0363840b!8m2!3d53.7899744!4d-2.2857418 After a hearty breakfast we will head north to the Yorkshire dales, the route will be finalised on the day. I need to know how many are coming, I'm fitting this in between trips, I get home from holiday on Saturday and go away again on Monday, and if its no ones coming, I've got a lot to do do on Sunday.

  14. Well my own stupid fault, but it was obviously on it's way out anyway, so lucky it failed where it did and not in the middle of the sticks on my own. Just making up a Burtons shopping list for bits I don't have at home, gaskets ,nose seal etc etc. All part of the Westy fun ( or so I keep telling myself 🤣)

  15. And therein lies the problem. Setting aside the issue that the factory is no longer trading for the foreseeable so the potential source of the required paperwork is unavailable, we’re discussing a model here that is 25years old so the chances of it still complying exactly with the original type approval documents would be very remote.

  17. The ZEI was designed for European Small Vehicle Type Approval and may were sold as such, although I cannot say whether those that were sold in the UK were equally certified as it would not have been required here. Those cars destined for the continent where the European Type Approval would have been required were supplied with a datasheet describing all the components used on the car and their E-marking, together with the CofC and evidence that they were factory built. the ZEI is distinguished from the SEI by having a fully enclosed body tub around the front suspension, the indicators set into the clamshell wings and an offset bonnet scoop to enclose the downdraft carburettor. Copies of the sales brochure can be found in the download area on this site for fully paid members and there's also more detail in the Robinshaw Bouckley book, all small extract from which I have shown below.

  20. He, among many other people in the audio/visual media, has graduated from the Robert Peston School of Speaking in a Confusing Manner. Peston employs the circular breathing technique developed by the Australian Aborigines when playing the digeridoo. His variant involves breathing in through his nose and speaking through his anus.

  21. Out this afternoon to check that the roadworks (closed roads) on the route were finished. Weather forecast for next weekend is really good, especially Saturday for the run. See you the start, 9am at Cairn Lodge Services, M74!

  22. That's a shame to read, it was a good sprint, always lots of runs. ☹️ It was at this venue where Tom Green earned the Flymo nickname in his yellow beastie, when spinning off around 100+mph along the grass run off in front of the watch tower.

  24. This may well have already been mentioned or used by others but I couldn’t find it so thought I’d share. BestBikingRoads (BBR) App for IOS & Android. https://www.bestbikingroads.com/ Looks to be a great app for finding routes in an area or local to your location. You can post up your own routes for others to enjoy and rate the routes you’ve used. So far I’m still using the lite version (free), but may well be worth the upgrade in the near future. Ill be using it in anger next week on my little road trip... Lets face it our cars might as well be Bikes just with 2 extra wheels Happy Blatting!

  25. Sorry Brad I’m not going to make this weekend, need to get brakes done and playing catch up after my holiday. Also Steve’s got Covid so he’s highly unlikely to be there. Hope you have a good day and we can catch up soon cheers Gary

  26. Erm.... Not sure what to say here other than tonight didn't really go to plan... I picked a mate up to go to this local car meet, he then said he could only stay an hour because he had to be at work in a bit, we got to the meet and chatted to folks as you do... as I looked at my phone the hour had long past, so we started the car and set off, not wanting my mate to be late I did a ... erm race start from the lights and promptly blew the diff !!!!!. Another mate who was following saw what happened and took my passenger to work, as I sat at the side of the road ( crying) , a call back to the meet resulted in no one having a tow rope, so tried the Wirral WSCC group to see if someone could help THANKFULLY a member called Peter ( not the one I met on Sunday ) responded as he was in the next village about 5 mins away, with tow rope in hand we attached to the mates car who had been following ( having dropped my other mate off at work\) we slowly got the Westy back to base. After a deduction in spinning wheels and props etc, it has blown the diff, certainly taken teeth off the crown wheel as a minimum. I do have a spare diff, but that is 80 miles away, so working on a plan to collect diff and refit it here. So no posts for a while about driving etc. signing off now, rather peeved and annoyed.
