Last Saturday I got my hands on a R360s for a days hire with my eldest son. The car came from Williams Automotive in Chipping Sodbury near Bristol. Have to say the roads were fabulous in South Gloucestershire, surprisingly quiet from around 9.30am and not that busy though the day. Our first visit was at Kemble Airfield and an excellent breakfast at the AV8 cafe, recommended but don't go Sunday as closed! After another blast and help with the Sat Nav we turned up at the Classic Car Hub in Bibury near Cirencester. Now that is another good place to see the old cars, some for sale with a few motorcycles in the big sheds. Busy day but we got the Caterham wedged between the very common Porsches!!! Here we did coffee/tea and cake at the cafe there, again recommended but not open Sunday which is a shame. It tried to rain, so we got going south again making our way to try out the car. My son was on the insurance, so he got to try the car...neither of us had driven a kitcar...still waiting for mine!! We had to get going though as you need to get the car back on time (3pm) filled up and not over 120 miles as it costs 50p + vat! We did 80miles with the two breaks and the total fuel bill was just over £21. Overall a good day for both...so if you are looking for something to do or waiting for your Westfield to arrive, then go for it!9 points

For sale is my 2015 L plate registered Westfield SEiW Mazda SDV. I built this car from the chassis up with a 1994 1.8 MX-5 donor in 2014 and had it finished and on the road in 2015. After some track days I felt it could do with a bit more speed so I swapped the engine for a 2001 1.8 MX-5 SVT which has the VVT engine and did a custom turbo. Now the car has 250bhp and weighs in a 600KG which is a similar power to weight ratio of a Ferrari 458 Speciale! This is more a track oriented car with its racing seats and no windscreen although is road legal and it does come with a spare scuttle with a windscreen attached which is a 5 minute job to swap the aeroscreen scuttle over. Really reluctantly having to sell it due to planning on moving to the US later this year. You can see my build diary here for some in depth details. This is more a track oriented car although is road legal. There are a few scuffs and marks on the bodywork. A couple of the LEDs in the side lights in the Venom headlights are out. Unfortunately a common problem that can be fixed with a soldering iron. The rear passenger wheel arch has a chip on the edge where it was reversed into at low speed. I have a replacement that I never got around to fitting. Available to view anytime in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. £15,500 ono.2 points

Day 8 Despite me saying I won't post everyday, you never know how the day will go... This evening yet another old friend called with this Stunning soundtrack from the exhaust though being a V8, he got the car just before the first lockdown apparently. Then he blew me away with some old newspaper articles that I either have never seen or ( more likely) forgotten about. This was the local rag from around 96/98. And this one when I went all Gulf coloured I wonder if Darren is still about or still has the Westy, perhaps someone here owns it now?. More soon2 points

Losing track of what day we are up to, but hey ho... No Westy content at all, but did have a great trip down to Malvern in a tintop, a freind had to take his wife there and I tagged along as well. Sadly we arrived in the evening so the place was shut, but I have always wanted to see where Morgan actually are, hoping to return and do one of their tours I keep hearing about.1 point

So on my final leg back home from London, sat on a stationery train waiting for the driver??!!! I've just seen a £50 donation which is an anonymous payment, if its from anyone on this forum then thats absolutely amazing and thank you😊 Paul (Lily's dad) said a few words to say thanks to everyone involved, it was somewhat emotional, in fact he went to pieces which set me and a few others off which makes you realise a few blisters and dodgy knees and legs is nothing compared to what some go through. We are awaiting for confirmation from the company we work for as to whether they will match what we have raised? I really do hope so, in which case everyone's kind donations will have doubled! Heading home (hopefully), my wife will be waiting for me from the station (hopefully?!) and then I'm heading to the bath and I think I'm done!! For people who run these distances for fun, you are mad but I take my hat of to you. Over and out!!!!!!!!1 point

Evening all, thought i'd add my little experience to this thread. After a long time searching and awaiting for the right car to finally, after many years commit too, i managed to bag myself exactly what i was looking for. And so on a sunny Saturday i set out to collect my new playmate from the Chilterns, with the journey back south to the surrey?kent borders an opportunity to acquaint myself with my new car. The plan was to avoid the m25 at all costs and take the slow roads through London whilst being followed by my friend who kindly drove me up in his van. After a quick consultation with waze and realising that was going to be a seriously long slow tedious drive my excitement failed to overcome, i succumbed to the daunting prospect of the m25 which uncharacteristically appeared to be flowing pretty well! What can i say, talk about a baptism of fire haha. All of a sudden i felt really rather tiny as i stretched its legs up the slip road followed by my mate who must of thought id lost my marbles! within minutes my face and chest were numb from the wind pounding me, i could hear nothing but the roar of the engine. my senses heightened as i became very aware of my surroundings....zoned in, driving like i hadn't driven for ages. the car and myself were alive. When myself and my mate pulled into Cobham services to grab a coffee i was beaming from ear to ear ,wind battered but exhilarated with the fresh knowledge that i must of had hidden masochistic tendencies. motorways are certainly not a westfields natural environment but for me that first lone drive was the drive that made me fall in love as well as make me realise i must be ever so slightly mental!! Also as an added bonus it also showed me that the car i'd just acquired was thankfully very very well put together ,the engine strong as an ox, no heating issues and everything i was hoping. p.s. treated her to some shiny carbon cycle wings a couple of days later for behaving so well😉1 point

Day 5 Great day, this morning was dry so went for a short run, called into the local craft centre but no leatherette was found. Need to go into town for that. Took a pic anyway I then took a run to see an old house my gran once owned, by chance the owner was watering his garden, and as I was parked up, the chap looked at me ,I looked at the chap - this went on for some seconds… Not wishing to appear a weirdo. I got out of the car and explained who I was and my attachment to the house. Once i gave him enough info on the house he very kindly showed me the house both inside and out. Some great memories came flooding back. On the way home called into the Cottage Loaf pub, another old haunt from my Triumph car club days I didnt photograph my lunch, pub was too busy and it felt weird taking a pic of a sandwich… Busy day tomorrow with a family gathering, next week i plan on doing North Wales for a day or so More soon1 point

And just like that it’s over 🥲🥲 A fantastic day and what an experience and to top it all off Sammy Taylor did her first ever track day at Spa in the westy , one very proud dad!! It stayed dry to the last session when the heavens opened , at which point we called it a day ( also almost out of rear pads 😃 ) I’m not normally lost for words but maybe later, just to say Tommy did us proud 👍 ( those that know know) A few pics from today and hopefully once home some decent video. Would we come back? Planning it already lol.I1 point
