Day 1 and We’re here 659 miles from home in the N/E of Scotland down to Folkestone on the start of our mini trip away . We started in the twilight chilly and fresh arrived in the twilight chilly and fresh and burnt in between 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Not the best day to pop down to the south coast with the extreme heat and certainly as such it took a few hours longer but the cars ran well with plenty of breaks for both cars and peoples. So we’re all sat with a cold one and the hollybobs start tomorrow with the Chunnel across to France then over to the cottage we’ve rented at Spa6 points

Hello everyone, Thought I’d start here. Recently bought myself a Westfield after having my eye on a kit cars for over 15 years. My intention is to get over to the Peak District meet soon to meet some of you in person. Still loads to learn so I’m sure I’ll be on here quite a bit and will be like a sponge when I’m with other owners. Name’s Tony, 36, and live close to Alfreton, Derbyshire if there’s anyone near by? My baby:6 points

We’re here 350km today in +40 deg meant plenty of stops …. Then … we arrived in the Ardennes , as beautiful as ever. Sammy and Trina had got food at one of the service areas and we arrived at the cottage, wow!!! Both cars ran well with some consideration to the heat and Sammy had a wee detour through part of Brussels, but safely here5 points

I feel a bit of a fraud in posting this, given the superb trips of late around the Alps. However I intend to document my trip to the Wirral where I will be staying in just one property for the duration, and hopefully get to meet up with the Wirral section of the club and also if I can re-trace some old haunts around North Wales. I will be visting friends most of which have classic cars. This really is the first time in 25 years I have left my area without having to worry about pets. Just waiting for the temps to drop before departure, car is being slowly loaded and I can't wait to go. More to follow.3 points

Thanks for the warm welcome. The car is from Toybox who have just been fantastic at helping me adjust to the new car and with a couple of niggles I had. I’m thinking of possibly attending the Newark show as I’ve never been and it looks great. Will more than likely see some of you at the next peaks run for sure Tony2 points

Hi Tony, welcome and love the car! You are actually in one of the most active areas in the club! @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative and @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AOdo an amazing job with the Peaks area and organise a meet most weekends, with owners converging from all over (Birmingham, Manchester, Stoke, Derby, Nottingham). I've recently taken over as Derby/Notts area organiser and we have loads of people in your area. If there's not a Peaks run on, we will often meet at places like Curborough or the monthly pub meet at Shardlow. There's quite a few of us going to the Newark kit car show next weekend too 👍 Look forward to meeting you2 points

Mine is insured on approved value and on renewal this year (Feb) the insurers rang me and upped the value by £5K saying that it had 'appreciated' in value since I bought it despite me seriously adding to the mileage and it being 7 years older. Maybe @Labratyou should revisit your stated value!!. Not many cars go up in value.1 point

Enjoy. Some cracking roads lie ahead. You will be in good hands with the Wirral lads.1 point

Bought a couple of years ago for use when driving my aero-screened Westie, as I found that bugs hurt at 60+mph... Never dropped or bumped and always cleaned after a drive. Visor is still perfect - no scratches. It has a very effective inbuilt sun visor which is also in perfect condition. The carbon weave is utterly gorgeous and the helmet is noticeably lighter than the Shoei I still have in the cupboard from my biking days. As well as being quite light (more of a consideration in a car as the lateral forces ae much higher than on a bike), it also looks amazing and helped satisfy my developing fetish for carbon as I improved the Westie. It's a Large size, which covers the range 58-60cm, 23-ish inches or 7 3/8 - 7 1/2 in old 'hat-size' measurement method. Its advertised at £290 elsewhere, but I'll knock a few quid off for a WSCC member Not keen on posting it, as a helmet should ideally be tried on before buying. However, I reckon it will be about £15-£20 extra to post1 point

Welcome Tony, we will be at Newark on Sunday and will love to see you in the Peak District soon too. We are at Walton in Chesterfield, so less than half hour away although we normally meet at McDonalds in Matlock at 10 am most Sunday's. @AndrewBClarke @Big Andy you asked me to let you know which day we are going to Newark, well the dentist has just changed Glen's appointment to Saturday, so it has to be Sunday.1 point

Welcome. Nice looking car. I am near Chesterfield. You are well placed for both the Peak District and Derby meets (Shardlow). We do seem to have a fairly large number of owners in this area so lots of people to talk to 👍 Luke.1 point

After a lot of soul searching and a few drives in my Westfield i have decided to keep the car so it's no longer for sale. Bang for buck i've never been in a car that goes so well and makes my giggle like a little kid. You watch it rain for the rest of the year now so i can't use it 😂1 point
