  1. When you sell your car and leave the club it's a sorry day to your friends that then go and miss you, so it is with great pleasure that I re-introduced Tricky and his new car to everyone. Are you listening @NigelO? Tricky and his 2 litre blacktop Zetec set up by Northampton Motorsport. @AndrewBClarke worked his magic and suddenly not 1 but 3 Daniel Craig's appeared, now you just have to sort the suits out and you can watch an AO melt in front of your eyes We had a quick gather at McD's Matlock Just enough time for Rob Dennis The Menace to show us his 13" wheels, along with the lightened flywheel this car is now fast, because of course it was slow before....I don't think. We set off through the Chatsworth Estate on our journey to the bikers cafe, The Yondermann. Normally avoided by us because it is so popular, we decided that it has to be visited at least once, we haven't been since before the virus and it is still an excellent place πŸ‘ Sat outside The Yondermann in anticipation of the 'first brunch', normally @BillyPee's third breakfast πŸ˜› John's car parked at The Yondermann and Rob's photo's are much better than mine of the rest of the cars parked, thanks Rob. Some folk had to leave at this point so the rest of us went in search of cake. I expected bad weather and hadn't sorted a route out so we copied the one from last week and went to the Stone Centre again. I love that hill near the end, you wellie it up there and ruddy hell, do you have to hang on tight, it shakes your bones. It's a good job I also swim and cycle and have a bit of arm strength spare. Parked at The Stone Centre Billy and Bill Senior have unsorned their Westfield after the winter upgrades and were proud to show off their new cycle wings and flared side panels. The bonnet has been painted but if you look closely you can still see that lovely patina on the tub from when the car was red many years ago. That's the job for next winter. Billy announced that we should be named the Westfield Scone and Cake Club, he is right and we did not disappoint, so you have seen the Westfield's now have a look at the cake. I went for the Flake Cake Glynn is not only good at building cars, he is expert at cakes:- get an ice cream tub too, warm it in your hand and by the time you have paid for it you can just pour it out onto your cake Genius. The weather was dry all the way for us, meaning we got more of a run than we thought we would, so with the great company, views and food also it made for another soooooper day, thanks for coming. We are on holiday next weekend but Rob will no doubt be entertaining you, although it seems many of you are also off doing wonderous things too, have fun whatever you do and we will see you the weekend after.

  2. Cracking day out as always, big thanks to @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative ! A bit of shower dodging on the way and on the way back though πŸ˜‚ @Tricky, great to meet you today, love the car πŸ‘ A few pics from the Yonderman, sadly the car park was packed so no formation parking.....

  4. Nice to meet everyone today, some old faces (talking about Glen, Julie), and lots of new faces. Bit of rain for me going and a bit coming back but it was great to get out with like minded people with some beautifully finished cars. I really need to get working on mine!

  9. Not strictly photos of my Westfield but they are at least slightly Westie related. The awesome sunset photo was taken just after pulling into the driveway after a drive yesterday. We get these cool mammatus clouds here many times each summer. The photo of the two turkeys was taken from the driver’s seat while out on a blat today…I saw them in the road up ahead and at first it looked like two small dogs. But as I got closer I could tell what they were. I took the car out of gear and coasted up to them and they were very curious about what the heck I was. I took a few quick photos and slipped my camera back into my pocket and then the one bird walked right up and looked into the car. I worried that he might hop in so I blipped the throttle and then pulled away. Big birds. dave

  12. It's not often I get to drive the car just for the heck of it, but today I did just that - yay Drove perhaps 30 miles and got lost, and went down some lane to find these at the side of the road. Now I know what this is But no clue what use this has on a farm, if someone knows please help me... Great day was had, but it did rain despite the forecast saying it wouldn't - UK eh...

  13. This morning at the Yonderman πŸ‘ Minutes later it was in bits so I could reattach the clutch pedal clevis pin.... driving with the clutch pedal laid flat on the floor made life quite interesting πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Luckily I only needed a couple of clutchless changes before I figured out I could lift the pedal with my toes and still operate the clutch!

  16. You can get it through the IVA without any screen at all. Then source your preferred choice of screen as and when one happens to appear for sale. Mine was the other SDV (sierra) and I just used the most basic starter kit and sourced the rest myself.

  17. I didn't buy the completion package either and sourced most from elsewhere as I wasn't too keen on the complete SDV design. I reckon you should still be able to build from what you have plus what is easily available elsewhere. It is such a shame you couldn't get the bodywork, but the build will be worth it

  18. I’m always more than happy to help having been there and made most of the mistakes πŸ˜€ there’s a great community of SDV owners on this forum so when you’re ready to make a start I can recommend starting a build thread as that way you’ll get lots of tips along the way.

  21. So another few hours tonight and the lid is installed. Took longer to get under the car and get the bottom stay bolts in.

  22. Does anyone know how hard it would be to try and finish an SDV build now? I need the second kit which has a whole load of stuff in it, and i'd now need to source every piece elsewhere. I'm up for trying, but I don't want to waste a load of money if lots of the pieces were bespoke and i'd need to get them made and it just won't be possible.

  23. Apologies, the drone will not be coming along on this event, we are still meeting up and going for breakfast at The Yondermann though, and can go further afterwards for those that are able. @Tricky can you believe it, my facebook memories tell me it is 8 years ago today that we met at the Devonshire Arms, Cracoe, Skipton with the WSCC Yorkshire group on the joint meet with the Caterhams. I remember the A1 was closed on the way home and it took you ages to get back.

  28. We actually found some time to get our race car out for a shakedown at Goodwood on Friday. I know its not a Westfield, but I thought we would show you a little video from inside the car, in case anyone was interested. I would like to get this to a couple of shows or WSCC events at some point and get to meet all you nice members Anyway here is a short video

  29. Still plenty of weight to be removed, but for now it would be good to get the car out of development and start to actually use it Will be looking to enter it into Time Attack, in the Pro Extreme series at some point. It does not comply with many series to be honest mainly because a lot of what has been to the car engine position does not comply with regs etc. But I am sure we can arrange a demo at a sprint or something Track days for sure, (we will whack another seat in it if anyone wants a ride) It's also there to show what we can do and has a lot of the stuff we sell to demo it to customers, although we now say if you want a demo that you haven't just eaten lunch, the record we have for making someone "ill" lets say was just over a lap 😁 (I still feel really bad for the guy, I thought he kept saying faster, so I pushed even harder and harder, but he was actually saying he had thrown up in his helmet and to pull into the pits) Ok, I will put together a build thread over the coming weeks in our traders section if you like.

  30. This was my initial thoughts. Being dragged up/raised on a farm I really should have more of an idea but despite my kids thinking I was born in the olden days I really can't add anything useful to your question.

  31. I know it's a long shot, but the offside rear upper wishbone that came with my kit has been welded together badly, making it 5mm shorter than the left one... so I need a replacement! Does anyone have any spares??
