  3. Apologies if this isn't within the WSCC rules and if so I will remove post. On the 29th July I will be walking 35 km alongside 8 other work colleagues to raise money and awareness for 'Young Lives vs Cancer' after a work colleague (Paul) in 2021 received the devastating news that his Daughter Lily had been diagnosed with a type of brain tumour that had not been seen before which caused the specialists concerns on the best way to treat her. They opted for the fact she is young (14 at the time) and otherwise fit and healthy so they hit her hard with radiotherapy and chemotherapy after the tumour had been surgically removed. Fortunately she seems to be on the mend which is a miracle with what she has been through including being placed in an induced coma during her treatment to lessen the impact as some organs had started to shut down and then receiving therapy to help her speech as this had been impacted also. I feel slightly awkward posting this here along with my donation page link mainly due to the fact I've not met any members face to face for along time and the majority I've never met at all. But I think we can all agree it's a worthwhile charity that I hope myself or anyone else for that matter will never need to use. "Glen Ivey is fundraising for Young Lives vs Cancer" https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Glen-Ivey Thank you for taking the to time to read this. Kind regards Glen

  7. Meet at McDonalds, Bakewell Road, Matlock, DE4 3AU 10am and be ready to leave at 10.15am i.e you have time for a pee but not breakfast. We will then take the 25 minute journey to the Yondermann Cafe, Wardlow Mires, SK17 8RW for a breakfast. Other food is available so please check their website for the menu. The cakes are homemade, just sayin'. It is a biker's cafe and very popular. We will then take a 25 minute journey South to a quiet road in order to do some filming with a drone. Rob has very kindly helped set this event up and will be bringing his rebellious rabble with him, so will you be joining us? please let us know.

  11. Re: your thoughts on future upgrades: powdercoat the front wishbones, windscreen and supports. - Maybe worth looking at wide track such as Rally design, who will sell you a full set of wishbones (slightly wider), and come with new bushes (poly type). This might even work out cheaper as your old ones maybe worth money - They are of course black. Questionable as to performance gains, but it looks good 🙂 Replace front wings with carbon cycle. - Try MOFAST (Carbon Fibre Cycle Wings for 195 profile tyres (mofast.co.uk)) and Carbon NV who do some nice carbon bits. Take out the boot tray and replace with a carbon sheet - Carbon NV do a nice composite carbon sheet for this purpose. - (carbon-nv performance car composites - products) New black 5.75 headlights with led inserts - Available in lots of places - ebay, car builder solutions, etc Quick release steering column ( not sure how easy that is to do) - Usually a very easy job. You simply undo the bolt on the universal joint between top and bottom column and the steering column pulls out (make sure steering lock is off), lots of options, but if money permits, the GO RACE system is top quality and they can also supply you with a top steering column that simply slots back in. https://www.go-race.co.uk/product-page/WestfieldColumnWithGo-RaceQuickRelease Needs a new exhaust as the current one is a right bodge job. - You maybe able to tackle this job if you have a nice local welder..

  14. We enjoyed our trip in 2019 so much, that we booked to go back in 2020, but you all know what happened in March 2020. 2021 didn't happen either. On Tue 28th June, @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman @Greenstreak-Andy D @Stu Faulkner & I sail from Harwich for 11 great days of Euroblatting with a least six countries and 1800 miles to drive. 2 ferries, 1 train and 4 different hotels. Here's a clue to our route- We've had a few challenges to over come including the train company we paid in 2020, giving us a voucher that was valid until 2030. They now don't travel from Dusseldorf to Innsbruck and wouldn't give us our money back. They could offer Hamburg to Innsbruck, but driving further North and East, when you're trying to go south doesn't really help. We got the Austrian Train ombudsman involved and our money came back. Our new train company (Urlaub Express) was booked for the same journey (very few options of dates in this post Covid era), shortly after booking they advise they can only move us as far as Munich. So we've adapted our route and have found some great roads to drive from Munich to our base camp in Nauders. To be continued.....................

  15. 22 June 2022 No solid news to report at this point. Basic information went out to interested parties with respect to the sale of the business last week, - we received one having previously discussed it with MB-I. While I can't disclose the contents of the (confidential) sales memorandum, I can say at that point there was nothing "for us". Appointments for those interested in purchasing the business were being arranged to view the assets at Kingswinford. However, in order to proceed to even that stage, would have required a signature from ourselves, (me), on an NDA (Confidentiality agreement), worded such, that I couldn't sign, and be in compliance with our own Club Constitution, (and not in a small trivial way, either). At this point though, there was no point making a mountain out of a mole hill, as the only reason for going from the Clubs point of view would be morbid curiosity. I replied to the info pack though stating as such, however I did also stress, that should the business fail to sell in this first round, and be liquidated, there would be assets such as the archives, that we may be interested in, so we do as a Club, still have irons in the fire. And for the moment, that's it, as far as we know. I'll keep updating this thread when I have any solid updates. It's not our intention to repeat hear-say from Social Media, we don't have to be first with information, just right. I've been in touch with the Chesil Support Group on Face Book, now the Westfield Support Group, it's a closed group, I can see we have a few members on there, though it is mainly the Chesil guys. On the whole, other than some Chesil specific suppliers, they don't seem to have much more info than us. 19. If you like the car then my advice is spend a few quid on doing what it needs and run it longer. The reality is what ever you buy newer will depreciate and that is the real killer economy wise. £2.00 a litre hurts but it will drop eventually. Electric on the other hand, I read HMRC were looking a work place charging as a benefit in kind, but they are struggling to work out how to do it.

  22. I expect you can reduce the scratches by careful sanding or cutting back with an appropriate compound provided they are not too deep. For protecting the body where the bottom edges of the sidescreens are pulled in against the GRP I've stuck on a strip of Luxshield clear vinyl on either side, from Amazon.

  24. Went on a 8 hour round trip to view and then buy this . John the owner was a pleasure to deal with and even delivered it for me . This was the 5 th car I looked at and by far the best . It does have a few little jobs to keep me busy but will be used all year round and be outside in all weathers for at least the next year .

  28. Hi mate thanks, it seems to be very genuine as underneath is spotless. Its running a 919 blade engine, only drove it the once before my surgery and it seems pretty good. Since i cant drive it ive been hooked on the forums and watching videos of these things and i cant stop bashing ideas around in my head 😆. Prob been pestering most people asking so many questions, but i dont know anything about these so need to learn. The colour like you say could be better if accessorised correctly so im going to see what it looks like after ive made changes. So far i have coming: Pro Race 1.2 in 13" this weekend Black RAC roll bar Current Future plans are to: powdercoat the front wishbones, windscreen and supports. Replace front wings with carbon cycle. Take out the boot tray and replace with a carbon sheet New black 5.75 headlights with led inserts Quick release steering column ( not sure how easy that is to do) Needs a new exhaust as the current one is a right bodge job. Then ill see what the colour looks like to me, its a funny shade of green personally so im not a fan, and yes it would of been easier to buy the right colour to start with but the money i paid and mileage it has swayed me as id of been getting a 20 year older car with miles for the same cash. Any ideas or help are welcome and i appreciate everyone's advise. ❤️

  31. Welcome from Essex. I have a rear roll bar in black going spare if you want it, same shape as your chrome version. PM me if you want it. The Westfield Racing Green looks fantastic, be a shame to change colour, some silver stripes/decals would transform it.

  32. Hi Steve, I think I saw your car advertised when it was for sale, I was half tempted with it myself! ☺️ It looks a really nice car, and I'm a big fan of the 'blade engine (and bike engines as a whole). I had a Megablade for 11 years previously and they're such a useable car on the road. Have fun! Lee.

  33. Just approach the ramps and an angle and don't spin your car with the throttle on the shiny deck floors, the Captain doesn't appreciate it 😉

  34. Welcome.....Very nice car.........Such a low mileage!.....what engine is it running. Regarding the changes you want to make.....I'm completely with you, and to be honest although the Westfield racing green can a bit 'old school' with the chrome (nothing wrong with that if that's the look you are going for), but the deep green does lend itself to a more modern twist if you accessorize with the right hardware colours. That's pretty much the look I wanted with my car...lots of black, lots of carbon, some beefy looking exhausts, etc, etc. Also, worth considering a different roll bar which is taller and has back stays....the standard westfield offering really isn't up to much and most peoples head sits above.
