We enjoyed our trip in 2019 so much, that we booked to go back in 2020, but you all know what happened in March 2020. 2021 didn't happen either. On Tue 28th June, @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman @Greenstreak-Andy D @Stu Faulkner & I sail from Harwich for 11 great days of Euroblatting with a least six countries and 1800 miles to drive. 2 ferries, 1 train and 4 different hotels. Here's a clue to our route- We've had a few challenges to over come including the train company we paid in 2020, giving us a voucher that was valid until 2030. They now don't travel from Dusseldorf to Innsbruck and wouldn't give us our money back. They could offer Hamburg to Innsbruck, but driving further North and East, when you're trying to go south doesn't really help. We got the Austrian Train ombudsman involved and our money came back. Our new train company (Urlaub Express) was booked for the same journey (very few options of dates in this post Covid era), shortly after booking they advise they can only move us as far as Munich. So we've adapted our route and have found some great roads to drive from Munich to our base camp in Nauders. To be continued.....................2 points

The discount offer from Go Race is now up, here: https://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/topic/148330-a-special-members-only-deal-for-quick-release-steering-columns-from-go-race/ This is the Club's turn to try and help out some of the smaller manufacturers caught holding stock of Westfield specific parts, and at the same time, bring a good discount to our own members, especially those hurting from the recent events. We will make case by case exceptions to try and help any of the smaller businesses in a similar position, waiving the normal Traders status requirements for them so they can run one off deals that also help our members. - we'd rather this saving were passed on the the Club members buying the stock up. If any other manufacturers/suppliers are in similar positions, with bespoke stock not paid for by, or dispatched to, WSC Ltd then and you want to see if we can help, please contact either myself or the Club Secretary. Thank you chairman@wscc.co.uk or secretary@wscc.co.uk.2 points

22 June 2022 No solid news to report at this point. Basic information went out to interested parties with respect to the sale of the business last week, - we received one having previously discussed it with MB-I. While I can't disclose the contents of the (confidential) sales memorandum, I can say at that point there was nothing "for us". Appointments for those interested in purchasing the business were being arranged to view the assets at Kingswinford. However, in order to proceed to even that stage, would have required a signature from ourselves, (me), on an NDA (Confidentiality agreement), worded such, that I couldn't sign, and be in compliance with our own Club Constitution, (and not in a small trivial way, either). At this point though, there was no point making a mountain out of a mole hill, as the only reason for going from the Clubs point of view would be morbid curiosity. I replied to the info pack though stating as such, however I did also stress, that should the business fail to sell in this first round, and be liquidated, there would be assets such as the archives, that we may be interested in, so we do as a Club, still have irons in the fire. And for the moment, that's it, as far as we know. I'll keep updating this thread when I have any solid updates. It's not our intention to repeat hear-say from Social Media, we don't have to be first with information, just right. I've been in touch with the Chesil Support Group on Face Book, now the Westfield Support Group, it's a closed group, I can see we have a few members on there, though it is mainly the Chesil guys. On the whole, other than some Chesil specific suppliers, they don't seem to have much more info than us. My dear wife wasn't keen on me restoring yet another motorbike and even less keen on me riding one as I'm recovering from cardiac surgery. Bless her she suggested a "car" project instead. Browsing e-bay I found an unfinished 1988 SEi kit (incomplete) for sale and took the plunge. This one came with a hard top and gull wing doors. I've been retired for a couple of years now but spent the last 15 years of my working life as an engineer at Aston Martin in Gaydon so I know a bit about the industry, products and supply chains. Having said that, I'm definitely on a learning curve with the Westfield. Essentially, what's there needs dismantling, restoring and rebuilding but I will need a few components in the near future i.e. windscreen pillars and a roll cage. I will also need some key dimensional information and/or a 3D CAD model of the chassis and bodywork if anyone out there has such things (any format will do). I could also do with making contact with other members in my area (Southam). All input gratefully received.1 point

It was worse hearing it reverberating through the house. As a young teen I was immensely thankful to having headphones and cassette recordings of John Peel's radio show.1 point

Welcome on board @John Higgins - it's good to have another 1988 SEi near by (I'm in Leamington). The esteemed @John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison is even nearer to you. Happy to lend a hand or for you to look at my car for reference if you like. Good luck, you're in the right place for support!1 point

Hi. I was wondering if anyone does any scale modelling here? It’s a hobby I had as a child and left behind around the age of 18. During lockdown I took it up again after watching some YouTube content. currently I’m only doing 1:35 armour. Having fun though trying some of the more advanced techniques that you can learn online. here’s some of my best efforts which have had a base I created. The others are just loose currently. A T35 in snow/winter and a kv2 in the wet.1 point

OK, so I've been doing some digging and research through old receipts, packaging etc and picking peoples brains where possible to try and pull together a snap shot of "what came from where" at the factory. Hopefully this was all still current at the end, but without speaking to each of them I can't confirm. Note the list is provided "as is". I haven't been in communication with any of these guys, their details come from Google. I would suggest, if you want to try and see if you could obtain anything directly from one, start a thread here on the forum first, and see if you can get a few of you together, before contacting them. Goodwill, given they may be placed in awkward situations by the factory closing, may evaporate quickly if a couple of dozen people ring for the same thing! I can't make it on Sunday I'm afraid. My youngest is volunteering at an event at Catton Hall on Sunday as part of his Army Cadet duties so have to drop him off about 930-945. I'll probably head to Curborough (10 mins from Catton) instead. Have fun and look forward to the photos!0 points
