Hi all here’s mine, only just joined the club and completely new to the Westfield world. Wanted one for 25 years and finally got one. Only drove it once before heading on Holiday last week then straight into surgery so I’ll have to drool over your pictures until I’m able to drive once again. I want to make it my own and less classic looking so will require some parts and advise from you all.14 points

@HB46443 did a video for me, very clever stuff, slamming together in-Westfield footage with my favourite driving song. Happy On The Road by Chris Rea, which to my mind is absolutely wonderful together. Enjoy it while you can as YouBoob's bot is likely to auto-mute it due to copyright claims,9 points

Hi everyone looking to buy my first westfield and I've recently put a deposite down on a fw duratec from toybox and will be heading up there soon to view the car once they have finished tinkering with it. Has anyone on here experienced buying a car from them and can share there experience with me. Also how many on here are from the South east. Im near Ashford and don't see many westfield about. Come to think of it I don't really see any kit cars in general2 points

Budget would be £7000 to £9000 ish , widebody . Prefer 1600 / 1700 Ford engine not after anything mega fast . Would prob have to spend first winter outside so any weather gear and security would be a bonus . Oh and not a fan of the long swept front wings much prefer the cycle type .1 point

Hi and welcome! I live a mile or so from Toybox and my current car was bought from them in 2020. Andrew and Dale are good guys and it's a no pressure sales environment. The cars they sell are always cosmetically very good. In terms of mechanicals, please bear in mind that no matter how well prepared they are they are still kit cars (built in someones shed!) so you can get some niggles but Toybox are very helpful should anything go wrong. I have loads of mates with Toybox cars and you will hear very positive things, but you do pay a premium over a private purchase. I've been very happy with mine. Good luck!1 point

Welcome David there’s several members in the Kent area and the member map will help you find some of those closest to you. https://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/communitymap/ Although these’s not a specific Kent area in the club right now several of the members make the journey to the Essex meets and some of these monthly meets and runs out have taken place over the border in Kent.1 point

I was thinking the same but, then again, we all have particular tastes 😄1 point

If it was my £100k car, I would probably have a serious conversation with myself before parking it in McDonalds? 🤔1 point

I'm quite impressed the R53 Cooper S was insurable! Suspect the JCW might be a stretch too far, which is a shame as I've got one of those surplus to requirements already! Thanks for the responses everyone - I hadn't considered the Swift and probably should have. Looks like they did a 1.2 version that's a relatively low insurance group and cheap to tax. Focus would be a good shout too if insurance is favourable. I'll add those to the list. Now, I feel I'm about to spend a ridiculous amount of time researching small Suzukis... the Alto I knew about but the other two are new to me1 point

Westfield SEW 2.0 Duratec For sale is a 2.0 Duratec Westfield SEW first registered in June 1997. MOT June 2023. Current Miles 6250 I have owned my Westfield since 2012 but sadly I am going to sell it on for someone else to enjoy as I am moving to Spain early 2023. It was originally a 1.7 Puma engine car in yellow. I decided it needed more power after a few track days so I decided to upgrade it to a 2.0l Duratec keeping the exhaust on the driver’s side. When it was undergoing this transformation, I decided to have it resprayed to my favourite colour - Ninja Green. The new engine was setup by Sitech Racing and the engine produced 184.3 BHP at the wheels with 207.79Nm torque. This gives approx. 220BHP at the crank. (Approx 380BHP per Tonne for the car) Engine · Fiesta ST150 base engine · Head is the higher ported head which was subsequently polished and ported to match the throttle bodies and exhaust manifold · Head valve seats refaced by JEM engines . Newman road/race cams + vernier pulleys · Engine internals are standard with new main bearings, new con rod bearing and new pistons and rings when rebuilt (2015) · ARP bolts on the flywheel · 45mm Jenvey Throttle bodies · Vauxhall VXR Turbo injectors · Westfield Duratec 4 into 1 exhaust manifold · Raceline aluminium wet sump giving better ground clearance · Raceline oil filter housing · Techcraft 6” repackable silencer Engine Management · Emerald ECU Drivetrain · Live axle · Caterham 6 speed close ratio lightweight gearbox · 3.889 Limited slip differential · 15” Alloys fitted with 205x50x15 Proxes R1R’s Suspension / Brakes · 2.4 Quick Rack · Adjustable shocks · Front suspension polyurethane bushes for hardness · Rear suspension metalistic bushes for softness. · Corner weights done by Sitech Racing · Front anti-roll bar set up by Sitech Racing · 9” drums on rear · Westfield 4 pots · Braided flexible pipes Bodywork / Interior · Wide bodied Westfield · Ninja Green 2 pac paint · Interior side panels are Carbon · Centre consul is Carbon · Body Stipes · Westfield Sports seats (Drivers adjustable) · Westfield 4-point harnesses · Momo removable steering wheel · Comes with a detachable leather half hood · Comes with a cockpit rain cover · Dominator headlights The car is 25 years old so has the odd mark here or there so priced accordingly. (Car is based in central belt of Scotland) Some pictures below…. Please contact me for more information if required.1 point

Great, Apologies for double checking - these old accounts that weren’t active got transferred a few times from memory, during upgrades to the system, and what very little info there was, back of house, didn’t diffintiively link it to you. The other Glen I one I’ve located, and does have linking info. Let me see if merging is possible!1 point

Oh no, I would not have thought you would ever have put your car up for sale, it was just the look of pride on your face at Quackers when you debuted it after the lockdown mods. Can't you paint the bathroom again or something 😄, the Peak District needs you XXXX1 point

You should speak to a consultant dermatologist Richard. You mention 'specialist', a term that can cover a multitude of sins. You and I are old enough to be wary of vested interest in advice, so I assume there's none here, but as you know to your cost skin problems can be very debilitating and UV is a double edged sword. Whatever you do end up undergoing, I hope it helps. A young woman of my acquaintance had a eczema patch on her very fair skin, and as she burned in the sun easily she was surprised to find that the patch vanished after a holiday to sunny climes. My skin used to be as tough as old boots and I could get as grubby as a sweep's elbow working on my car secure in the knowledge that the tub of Ajax scouring powder would get it all off leaving my hands soft as a baby's armpit. Nowadays, in Biblical extra time as I now am, I have to be choosy with brands of liquid soap for hand cleaning for fear of skin damage. As when I was a yoof, latex rubber has been my saviour in dodgy situations - except I now use it for gloves!1 point

Another vote for the Suzuki Swift, both my wife and I have them. It's the second best selling car in NZ for a reason. Nippy and cheap, cheap parts, and they look good boy-racered. The drivetrains keep on running, my £900 work-hack has had a grumbly gearbox input shaft bearing for over a year now, but it keeps on taking me to work and back - I don't hear it with the radio on. I've owned well over a dozen Suzuki cars over the years, never been disappointed with any of them. Here's a few of the rarer Suzuki's I've owned... Suzuki Fronte Coupe, 360cc 2-stroke, triple carbed Suzuki Alto Works RS-R, 550cc turbo intercooled, full-time 4wd - 9500rpm redline, gauge goes to 12,000! Suzuki Mighty-Boy mini-truck, 550cc repowered with a 800cc Alto drivetrain1 point

Not much to report from the last few weeks or at least nothing that looks that interesting in photos. There’s only been a few little jobs done to the plumbing mainly as I first caught covid, village Jubilee celebrations and then had a holiday to LeMans. One Costin related item I can show you now it’s Father’s Day was a model of the car I made recently for my dad. As with anything I make it started first with a drawing! It’s quite easy when you’ve already got most of the car drawn in 3D as a couple of button clicks reduced it down to 1:43 scale to match the rest of his car collection and then there was a few tweaks adjustments and the addition of a driver figure. Not having a 3D printer of my own I turned to makeitquick for the printing side of things. The main body of the car, wheels and exhaust were all printed in high detail resin whilst for the tyres I opted for abs. To give the car some strength the suspension arms would be made from 1mm stainless steel rod. This is the kit of parts ready for assembly. I painted as much as possible prior to assembly which needed patience and a steady hand. Then onto the final assembly.1 point

I think Putin has been influencing gas/oil prices for a while now, in preparation for his latest bit of imperialism. I suspect his hope was to distract the world with high fuel prices so he could just carry on without interruption. Take look at how he has been messing with OPEC+, and of course, let's not forget just how happily the rest of OPEC would take western money coming from inflated prices while they control output. I'd pay £5 /L if that's what it takes to beat Putin. Small price to pay for freedom from fascism.1 point

Despite the very long list of replacement parts, you'll be glad to know I escaped unscathed. However the memory of a Ducati whistling past my ear at high speed is still with me 🤣 🤣 Good luck with the sale Dave1 point

4 of us did a car show yesterday, Sunday 12th, and the Westfields proved very popular. We always had a crowd around the cars. Dads wanting one, mums saying "you'll never get me in one of those" and kids wanting to sit in them.1 point

Size matters A Texan ranch owner was in the UK and visited a local pub in a sheep farming area of Yorkshire. He struck up a conversation with a sheep farmer in the pub. After a bit of chit chat, the Texan asked the Yorkshireman a question. The conversation went thus: Texan - “So, how long does it take you to go from one end of your farm to the other”. Yorkshireman – “about 3 hours to walk from one end to the other” Texan – “If I get in my car to drive from one end of my ranch to the other, it’ll take me a day” Yorkshireman, after some pause for thought – “Aye, I used to have a car like that.”1 point
