  1. I finally have something to post that resembles a Westfield🤣 Been sat in the garage gathering dust for way to long... ahem 15yrs! 🤨 Its been slow progress but its progress in the right direction now!

  3. Car and trailer sold, no more race videos. Big hole in the garage 15 year of Westfield ownership has been a blast from the shows, Harrogate and Stoneleigh, nearly winning the speed series! Making great friends, moving into the financial drain that was motor racing with I must say great success, and now retired. So probably my last year of membership, massive thanks everyone who’s helped, been a part of and supported this journey

  5. We actually found some time to get our race car out for a shakedown at Goodwood on Friday. I know its not a Westfield, but I thought we would show you a little video from inside the car, in case anyone was interested. I would like to get this to a couple of shows or WSCC events at some point and get to meet all you nice members Anyway here is a short video

  9. A group of us went along to the Lyn Valley Classic in Lynmouth on Sunday. A great day out, despite the brief shower on the way out! A few pictures to whet your appetite! If you’re down this way then get in touch and I’ll add you to the WhatsApp for local info and drives etc! Thanks to all those that came along! Sean

  11. Thanks Dave, It looks like easimap6 is the free down load. I'll need to get serial-usb lead and hopefully get one of the local tuning company's to fettle it as reading all info made my brain hurt. And here's a picture of my Westy along my other steed.

  12. Happy birthday again Julie🍰, another cracking outing and thanks for the new name for my car (I think….?😂) May have had a few teething issues over the last year or so! But I guess that’s the joys of Westfield ownership and all part of the fun👍 almost right on the clutch mod/repair, but I just copied the S2000 boy’s and replaced master cylinder from 0.75” to 0.625” as the Mazda clutch has always been a bit short, stiff and grabby! (Ooer missus…!) And changed the slave cylinder for a better quality. But we’ll let you off as it’s your birthday😜 May have done some shopping online too when I got back for the cars new name😉

  13. My car in amongst the peak District group this morning. New wheels make it feel quite different to drive.

  14. Note, I've updated the "help" thread with a message from the Belgian distributor I received today, they have some parts availability, and will try and help the UK owners if they can.

  15. I spent the weekend driving my new toy around Sussex. I had people asking if they could take a photo on FIVE different occassions. Is this normal...?

  16. One of Julie’s famous Peak District runs goes too far and winds up in Tibet, cakeless.

  17. The attention to detail that's gone into this car is second to none. The engine has been built to the highest standards and the engineering skill that's gone into the diff/driveshaft set up is in itself worth a trip to see the car. You won't be disappointed.

  18. I have been out on many runs out with this car (and its owner) and it is one hell of a car. good luck Tony i hope it stays in the area though.

  19. Still plenty of weight to be removed, but for now it would be good to get the car out of development and start to actually use it Will be looking to enter it into Time Attack, in the Pro Extreme series at some point. It does not comply with many series to be honest mainly because a lot of what has been to the car engine position does not comply with regs etc. But I am sure we can arrange a demo at a sprint or something Track days for sure, (we will whack another seat in it if anyone wants a ride) It's also there to show what we can do and has a lot of the stuff we sell to demo it to customers, although we now say if you want a demo that you haven't just eaten lunch, the record we have for making someone "ill" lets say was just over a lap 😁 (I still feel really bad for the guy, I thought he kept saying faster, so I pushed even harder and harder, but he was actually saying he had thrown up in his helmet and to pull into the pits) Ok, I will put together a build thread over the coming weeks in our traders section if you like.

  20. Experience tells me it either costs money or takes time and patience, rarely what people want to hear, especially when they have a mate down the pub who knows better

  21. What would you like to know? I'll start with the basics 😁 So the car is running 600bhp (550 lbft torque), with the original straight 6 (2JZ-GTE) engine. Running a full race spec head done by swindon race engines. We are runing a Borg warner 91/79 single turbo all with custom manifold, downpipe and exhaust, The Gearbox is a Quaife 69G 6 speed sequential box controlled by the Geartronics air shift closed loop paddleshift system. We are using a 3 plate OS Giken basket clutch/flywheel with a lightweight shortened propshaft. TRD Racing limited slip diff all solid mounted. Chassis wise, it was stripped out, floor cut out and space framed. This is so the engine could be moved back behind the front suspension mounts to make it mid-engined, also saved a lot of weight. Now she weighs in 1150kg from 1680kg..

  29. Hi Mark I have both Jenvey and Emerald on my K Series engine without issues. I am not sure what engine you are installing but Dave Andrews at DVA Power sometimes has both new and good used items available! Dave Walker owns Emerald and he is ace at setting up the mapping at his rolling road in Watton Norfolk! Hope this helps Glutey

  30. What a stunning car with an amazing spec....I've gone the same way on the dash with the Dash 2 and the kit car electronics freewheel buttons, and find them to be one of the best mods I've ever made. Best of luck with the sale...someone is going to get one hell of a car.

  31. Thanks. Yes, I'm just finding my way around the club website. I'll see about starting a build diary, good idea. The ECU and throttle bodies - I had called up OMEX directly when Westfield started dragging on delivering them. Seems they are going through changes and were not sure when they would restart making the ITBs. Maybe someone has used Emerald / Jenvey?

  35. Evening team, Big respect goes out to @BillyPee. The starter motor he kindly gave me works a dream and I’m so happy to be able to start the car again 😅 What are the odds of the starter motor going for a crap on the drive home from collecting it 🤦 I got her up to temp and found the radiator cap to be the culprit of the leak. Easy fix: She does seem to run quite hot imo, but I’m not an expert. I didn’t drive it due to the leak but it sat idling on the drive just shy of 100 degrees. At this stage it had lost about 50-100ml of coolant so I turned it off. The fan didn’t kick it either. Another observation is this smoke(?) (see video) coming from the catch can. Perhaps it’s normal, I just don’t have the experience with this car to know, any opinions welcome: sorry moderators if it’s getting a bit tech heavy for The Start Line. As always, thank you, legends. cheers Dave

  38. Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes, cake, chocolates and Rocky Road (rather apt for the Peak District) have been consumed today. Glen treated me to a flight in a glider (and probably a life insurance policy) for my birthday and I have had a great day out on the club run, thank you. Cheers everyone xxxx

  39. Sat watching Wheeler Dealers and Ant Anstead said 'this car has had more issues than Beano' made me chuckle and unfortunately I was just thinking about poor Glynn who had missed our last run due to clutch 'issues' and so Beano was born, my new name for Glynn's car. The Naming Ceremony commenced, although @HB46443's car is probably more worthy of the name at the mo, it all makes the world go round. Presenting Glynn and BEANO with their comic Meeting at McD's in the hot sun, phew. There is always one @Lee Bennett Luke and Deanne made it after a loose fuel pipe on the filter, making a 9 car meet. After a brew we went through Chatsworth, up near Abney Gliding Club, through pretty Castleton, to let all the traffic come down over the cattle grid, that was kind of me wasn't it😉. Now we had a clear run up Winnat's Pass, yes, and a clear run down Mam Nick to land at The Rambler Inn, Edale. Where else do you go on your birthday but to the best of the best. Best roads, best pub. Expecting to sit outside, Edale is 600ft up and it was now cold and windy, so after parking up we scurried inside for a small beef dinner, with a proper Yorkshire pudding. Glen celebrated my birthday for me by having a pint of Dortmunder Vier, mmm. Our return journey took us over Surprise View and on to lower ground for the cakey bit. It was a tad warmer so we got to enjoy the outdoors, Luke was dressed in true Honda style with shorts and a T-shirt on. I can assure you, I had my thermal trousers on, next it was time for Rocky Road and flapjack with raspberry and white chocolate, although the chocolate orange cake was popular too. Cars parked at the Whitworth Centre, Darley Dale. Hey, these do breakfast, shall we try this as a meeting point next time? Big Andy is well known for having been chased by a chicken, so it was payback time as he mounted a co...shut it @Glynn Walters here is the DBPower jump starter that we keep in our car. Good to see @BillyPee back out temporarily with a new blue roof on the Porsche and having had the steering wheel recovered after it had delaminated. His Westfield has had a bonnet respray and flared side panels fitted so is expected to be back on the road in July before having the tub sprayed during the winter. Glynn has fitted a new slave cylinder and a clutch with a smaller plate after his issues last time we were out, this man doesn't hang around getting his car back up and running. I am sure there is a more technical name for 'clutch with a smaller plate' but hey, it's me talking here, cut me some slack😃 @LukeW had us all 'squealing' with laughter at his brakes, which were also squealing, thankfully he left a large gap from the car in front to reduce the need to brake, nice one. Although I have missed my other Honda Boys today it has been a fantastic birthday and I could not think of anything that I would rather do, so thank you everyone for turning up, eating lot's and driving well. We love Westfield's, they are absolutely the very best things in the world, LONG LIVE THE WESTFIELD BRAND ❤️

  41. This is incredible that companies that could easily be classed as competitors are so willing to assist in anyway possible as opposed to saying "tough, don't care". Just goes to show that we really are part of a small but unique group of enthusiasts keen to help others out! Shame the rest of the world wasn't the same🤔 I take my hat of to you @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairmanand the others involved in the background rallying around. Amazing work👍

  42. There is very little I can give by way of update at the moment, other than to confirm I've already reached out to Mark Bowen at the insolvency practioners. Already spoken to Jim at Tiger Racing, just trying to reach out to MK at the moment. We will put up a second thread with details of such offers, as and when.

  43. I've started a discussion amongst the committee re what "we" as a Club can do. One thing I would say though, some of the suggestions would result in massive changes to the Club, pushing us in opposing directions to some of those suggested in the membership thread, so very careful consideration is required. - please, that isn't a cue to begin debate here, there will be time for that, and we will open up a specific thread. I just wanted to update the membership, so that you know we are considering/looking into options, should a buyer not come forward for the factory as is.

  44. Just reading that Andy has set a new lap record in his Westfield (45.966) 1400 bhp 7.2L v8 twin turbo those words in the same sentence as Westfield is just insane! Well done to Andy, think that lap time might last a while!

  45. Possible cancellation. I've posted this on here, messenger and WhatsApp groups and so far I've had no one confirm that they are coming. I know it's fathers day, and some can't make it, I can even change the day to Saturday if that's better. Please let me know if you can make it, I don't want to be sat there on my own not knowing if anyone is coming.

  46. I know who the current supplier is there was talk of Poland for bodywork and chassis manufacture but that was in the pipeline and didnt happen before they went under Its a very sad situation i know many people at the factory very well and i can imagine they are in a state of shock as some have working there 20 plus years and I'm sure its had a massive impact on everybody and i wish them all the best in whatever they go onto do . I would like too think the Westfield brand will continue one way or another but it could take sometime to get things sorted out. Isnt it strange how things happen Chris Smith sadly passed away and just over 6 months the brand goes into administration.
