As always, an excellent event. Many thanks to all those who did the great prep, organising and hosting. Thanks also to all the members new and old that turn up and make the WSCC pitch, the place to be. Great to catch up with old friends, meet new ones and meet virtual members face to face @Yorkshire_Pudding @Geezergs @Hadz @RJRWesty @IainCameron for the first time. I still can't believe @Ali Jones - Retentions Officer sold me some brand new carbon cycle wings for a tenner! Thanks @Paul Aspden (MoFast) for such a generous donation to a great charity. Let's do it all again!7 points

...well, I actually joined almost a year ago but since then have been looking for my first Westfield. A couple of days ago I bought a nice 2004 Seight, so I guess I have now really joined. Absolutely fantastic car. At the weekend my son and I took it from the south coast to Santa Pod and back (260 mile round trip) and it was flawless. Absolutely love it!6 points

Thanks again for all the thoughts and advice received regarding my grubby white Westfield. It was great to be aloud to display it up on the trailer in the marquee. (Not sure how to post a picture 🤔)3 points

Agreed. Coming from someone who has first hand knowledge of Stoneleigh, well done to the organising team and all the helpers. Here's to next year.👍3 points

"So Bagpuss, how big exactly was Hedleys ( @HB46443 ) sleeping bag?" "It was about this high!"3 points

Thank you to everyone involved in setting up the Westfield stand ... it was fantastic and the whole family loved today's visit. Special thanks to @Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO & @marcusb for letting my kids sit in the cars ... you made their day and it was all I heard about the whole way back home.2 points

Now that’s looking much better! I hope the for sale add is going or gone. Try spacing out your view point changes a bit. The further apart they are the slower it will rotate when changing views. If you want it to turn a specific way stick a view point out to the left or right between the forward and rear views. You can also use the tracking feature to lock onto the rear car a few seconds after the last forward view and it should rotate itself smoothly round for the beginning of the track. I think you need to do a lot of practice drives just to keep testing.2 points

“Hello, I’m Bagpuss and they’ve given me an orange hi-vis vest so I can stand out and be seen!” ”Yes - and for some reason, I was still unable to avoid you.”2 points

Having survived a visit to Stoneleigh with the best/maddest club, you've now got compelling reasons to join, which will then enable you to post pics. How did @Mark Redpath - WSCC Membership Secretary fail to snare you, whilst there?1 point

Funny was only thinking the other day how this was going. Sorry to hear your not progressing it, if someone takes this on for a westy then you really won't be disappointed, brilliant engine choice for a 7 type. Have you advertised on any mx5 sites for any potential rocketeer builders?1 point

This is the fastest @Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO car has been driven to date 😁1 point

Thanks Nic, it’s taken much longer than I’d planned to get to this stage but this is bigger than any restoration I’ve taken on before now. I couldn’t have got to where I am now without the help of JMW motorsports who are just up the road from home and have been increasingly helpful both with the loan of their workshop space last year for the fabrication and their contacts in the motorsport community to do the jobs that I don’t have the skills for. They put me in contact with Richard who did the roll bar and chassis repairs and Andy for the engine work. Richard spends the majority of his time making repairs the BTCC and GT grids whilst Andy works for a current BTCC driver and ex LeMans GT Winner. I certainly couldn’t have found this level of talent alone.1 point

A day out with my daughter today as I left at 7.30am and picked sammy up then we headed westwards to Achnasheen and the midge bite cafe for brekkie, then on to Kinlochewe ( fuel) then it was south via Sheidigh to Applecross and over the pass to Loch Carron , no fuel here !!! The petrol station not open and the 24hr pump nae working so a wee detour to Kyle of Lochalsh and back to Eilean Donan castle for food then back to Inverness and home at 7.15 😅 305 miles of fun Here’s a few pics hope you enjoy1 point

Just tickling around with routes and looking at the good weather I think we might do the 'Square Route of Buxton' and finish at Blaze Ice Cream Farm. Tip - have a small tea in McD's1 point

I have decided not to continue with the AJ30 engine swap so its for sale. What I have is and what it cost me so far:- AJ 30 3.0 engine from a 2002 S type jag with 90k on the clock (No documentation to prove this) The engine has had covers and sump removed and all looks good inside. Bearing end caps removed and again all good. Compression test performed, albeit on a cold engine and all six cylinders were the same. Test can be performed again with the potential buyer if required Cost me £600.00 Rocketeer parts:- Sump with baffles and modified pick up - £576.00 Water pump bracket £18.00 Engine to gearbox adapter plate £462.00 Flywheel £510.00 Oil spigot adapter £24.00 Other items Oil filter £9.00 Spark plugs £30.00 ST200 throttle body purchased and then machined from 60mm to 65mm £230.00 Alternator adjuster and belt £40.00 Davis craig 115 pump with controller and hose £125.00 ST220 lower manifold - £50.00 New starter motor £62 Denso type alternator £75.00 ST200 manifold extensively modified £150.00 Exhaust manifolds For ST200 not ideal but a good starting point £187.00 This has all cost £3148.00 plus gaskets, paint and other consumables so I am probably £3300.00 into this project. So what I would like is £2200.00 Which is basically the rocketeer parts and the engine and all the other goodies and labour are being thrown in. I may split depending on the offer. This project needs to finish:- Wiring, Emerald make an ecu with loom to wire you own or they will make one for you. Engine mounts need fabricating but the plates have been fitted to the engine. Finish off the exhaust weather you want single or twin exit. There are a few of these conversions done now and there is lots of expertise on this forum to assist.0 points
