Thank you to everyone involved in setting up the Westfield stand ... it was fantastic and the whole family loved today's visit. Special thanks to @Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO & @marcusb for letting my kids sit in the cars ... you made their day and it was all I heard about the whole way back home.6 points

Another really, really enjoyable Stoneleigh. The Stoneleigh Teams new layout for the site worked fantastically well, and the whole area looked amazing. Had a real buzz to it every time I walked down Westfield Avenue. Amazing work everyone that helped, volunteered and took part. Great to see so many old friends that we haven’t seen for a few years or so, too. shame about the weather yesterday, but I know I still had great fun, regardless, hopefully everyone else that came, did too. (Quite how I seem to have caught the sun at some point today, I haven’t a clue! But at least it means we saw some.) Thank you to all those whose hard work makes it possible.6 points

A day out with my daughter today as I left at 7.30am and picked sammy up then we headed westwards to Achnasheen and the midge bite cafe for brekkie, then on to Kinlochewe ( fuel) then it was south via Sheidigh to Applecross and over the pass to Loch Carron , no fuel here !!! The petrol station not open and the 24hr pump nae working so a wee detour to Kyle of Lochalsh and back to Eilean Donan castle for food then back to Inverness and home at 7.15 😅 305 miles of fun Here’s a few pics hope you enjoy6 points

On to todays jobs and all the rest of the engine ancillaries have been fitted and the coolant hoses connected up, I still need to route and make the hoses that run to the front of the car and connect to the radiator. The exhaust and inlet manifold have been temporarily mounted in place but due to a slight oversight on my part I’d forgotten to order a new manifold gasket so it’ll have to wait till another day before I bolt it on permanently. Oil catch tank fitted, a job for next time will be to make up the breather hoses to the engine and gearbox. The last job for the day was to swap the rocker cover over to something more befitting of the engine bay. The colour I haves it painted in is a hint at what’s eventually to come for the bodywork. Finally a few photos of how the engine bay looks now.4 points

Last Wednesday Glen and I viewed classic cars before an auction at the Buxton Pavillion. There next auctions are on Weds 27th July and Weds 30th Nov. Most of the cars can be viewed for free outside the auction and for £10 two people receive a catalogue and access to the cars inside the Pavillion. The auctions start at 1pm, the best bit is the interesting folks that you get to chat with beforehand and over lunch in the Pavillion cafe. Here is what we saw, it's like a car show only with real prices attached. VX sold for £11812 Fiat sold for £6975 911 sold for £29083 Mitsy sold for £8438 MX5 sold for £2475 Mini sold for £9675 Bug sold for £16875 MG sold for £7650 MG TD sold for £14250 TR6 sold for £16312 Hope you find this interesting and hope to see you at the next auction!1 point

Just got home at 7 o'clock, car put away waiting to be unpacked tomorrow. Not a bad trip home up the M1 until a torrential downpour 20 minutes from home. Had someone video me, all I could do was smile and wave.1 point

I can thoroughly recommend the Highland Moors at Llandrindod Wells. We stay there every year for the YDG. With the Wirral and North Wales club. They can accommodate all the cars and you. Nic1 point

Currently dragging myself out of bed just now at the premier inn. unfortunately, not brought the westie down. It was chucking it down up my way yesterday and the wife really struggles with the full hood and doors on (old knee injury and both of us being a little on the ‘plump” side) once in, can’t get out lol. Yes I quite like it for all its quirks. When I was having the brazing done on the chassis I was very specific in my instructions for them not to grind flush any of the past alterations or straighten out the dents as to me they’re all part of it’s history. I considered a concentric slave but the mounting would have been complicated as there’s no flat surfaces and the original method was also slightly cheaper. the original method is also tried and tested with the AP clutch and roller release bearing as it’s the same as was used in the Bill McGovern /George Bevan Imp. Helpfully his grandson Jonathan Bevan who I bought the engine off from that car last year helped me source the parts needed.1 point

I have decided not to continue with the AJ30 engine swap so its for sale. What I have is and what it cost me so far:- AJ 30 3.0 engine from a 2002 S type jag with 90k on the clock (No documentation to prove this) The engine has had covers and sump removed and all looks good inside. Bearing end caps removed and again all good. Compression test performed, albeit on a cold engine and all six cylinders were the same. Test can be performed again with the potential buyer if required Cost me £600.00 Rocketeer parts:- Sump with baffles and modified pick up - £576.00 Water pump bracket £18.00 Engine to gearbox adapter plate £462.00 Flywheel £510.00 Oil spigot adapter £24.00 Other items Oil filter £9.00 Spark plugs £30.00 ST200 throttle body purchased and then machined from 60mm to 65mm £230.00 Alternator adjuster and belt £40.00 Davis craig 115 pump with controller and hose £125.00 ST220 lower manifold - £50.00 New starter motor £62 Denso type alternator £75.00 ST200 manifold extensively modified £150.00 Exhaust manifolds For ST200 not ideal but a good starting point £187.00 This has all cost £3148.00 plus gaskets, paint and other consumables so I am probably £3300.00 into this project. So what I would like is £2200.00 Which is basically the rocketeer parts and the engine and all the other goodies and labour are being thrown in. I may split depending on the offer. This project needs to finish:- Wiring, Emerald make an ecu with loom to wire you own or they will make one for you. Engine mounts need fabricating but the plates have been fitted to the engine. Finish off the exhaust weather you want single or twin exit. There are a few of these conversions done now and there is lots of expertise on this forum to assist.0 points
