  1. ****Updated**** Hi all! A few of us are planning to convoy down to Stoneleigh from the East/West Midlands, hopefully joining up with the North West massive prior to Stoneleigh. We will be meeting at Tamworth Services (B77 5PS) at 830-845am for a 9am departure, then running down the B roads (Baxterley, Bentley, Furnace End, Meriden etc) to the George in the Tree pub (CV7 7EX) on the A452 for about 930am where hopefully we will wait a short while and then tag onto the back of the main convoy (if we get the timing right! 馃槀). If anyone is coming that way and wants to join us for a bit of formation flying and a potentially remarkable feat of Westfield logistics please feel free 馃憤

  5. @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO has come up with a good video/photo opportunity idea. We may have a brief stop at Stafford services to discuss unless we can get it sorted on here. The idea is roughly M6 is is 4 lanes from J15 downwards and has 60mph limit with average speed cams etc. Let's try to get as many rows of Westies as we can manage across all 4 lanes with one 360 camera car at the front and one at the back diagonally opposite. Probably best to do it as soon as we're out of Stafford services. We shouldn't cause too much conflict with other users due to the 60 limit etc.

  6. Hi All, This Sunday, 1st May 2022, there will be a convoy from the Thames Valley heading to Stoneleigh for the National Kit Car Show. As we have done in previous years I suggest 7:30am Bird in Hand, Knowl Hill then out through Henley to the H Cafe, next to Infinity Motorcycles, Oxford Rd, Dorchester, Wallingford OX10 7LY at 8:30am. Then on to Baynards Green services to meet anyone from the North Oxfordshire group at 9:30am before heading off to the gates of Stoneleigh. Unfortunately, Steve and I cannot make it but from the WhatsApp group we already have interest. Also, please check out the meets section of the forum for details of the day and including how you can help by volunteering a short amount of your time, car data sheets, etc. Note that the National Kit Car Show is a two day event so if you cannot be part of our convoy on Sunday why not go on Monday as there is expected to be plenty of other club members there. Many thanks, Tim and Steve WSCC Thames Valley Area Organisers

  7. Limited edition Westfield SEIW Speedsport 1.8l zetec. Privately built and first registered on an age related plate in 1999. 15100 miles from new. 12 months MOT with no advisories. Speedsports were a limited edition in the late 1990s which had a few additional performance related upgrades over the standard kit. There were also a couple of visual differences being a recessed scuttle where the airbox and heater sat and the ducted nose cone. I鈥檓 the 3rd owner and bought the car in 2007 with around 7000 miles on the clock. This was my first Westfield and I spent ages finding the right one which had a good history and the right spec. I have fettled the car over the 15 years of my ownership. No serious upgrades just minor improvements on the original plus regular servicing of the fluids, filters, plugs etc every couple of years. There is a comprehensive folder of history and the original build manual with copious notes and info about how the car was built/upgraded. This would be an ideal first westy for someone, it starts first time even after being garaged for over 18 months and has always been ultra-reliable. Its quick enough, I鈥檝e never done a power test but would estimate 150 ish bhp and has some really nice upgrades such as the AP racing front brake setup, Trax Spax adjustable shocks all round, front and rear ARBs and the various Raceline upgrades listed below. It鈥檚 not a track weapon and is a really comfortable ride on the road but the various upgrades mean that on the odd occasions I have used it on track it performed brilliantly, especially through the twisty bits. The 1.8l zetec slivertop engine was refurbed and upgraded by scholar before it was installed and revs freely up to the 6500 limiter. It鈥檚 mated to an MT75 gearbox which is a pleasure to use, the quickshift gives it a nice short throw and is ultra positive and the clutch is nice and light. There is a very small weep of oil from the front of the engine, probably the crankshaft seal but very minor. Its never caused me any concern and otherwise it uses no oil at all. Always garaged and never taken out in the wet by choice hence there is little or no rust anywhere on the chassis so for a 23 year old car it鈥檚 in excellent condition all round, inside and out. There are a few minor marks and the odd scratch but very little crazing or cracking of the gel coat which is testament to the quality of the early panels. The full spec is as follows: Engine 路 1.8l zetec silver top engine, rebuilt by Scholar which included some cylinder head work, new flywheel and ARP rod bolts. 路 MT75 5 speed gearbox with quickshift. 路 Jenvey Throttle Bodies 路 Raceline Water rail which tidies up the engine bay 路 Raceline shallow sump 路 New Varley Redtop race battery. 路 Cambelt, tensioners etc replaced 2018 路 Silicon hoses (ASH or Samco). 路 Braided fuel pipes in engine bay 路 Scorpion Alarm/immobiliser 路 MBE 956 ECU incl leads, software etc 路 New Pipercross air filter Braking/Suspension/drivetrain 路 AP racing 4 pot front brake calipers with vented/drilled discs and Green Stuff pads. I have to say that the braking is superb and always amazes me how quickly it stops. 路 Rose jointed Trax Spax adjustable shocks all round. 路 Geo set up in 2018. 路 Independent rear suspension and Limited Slip Diff. 路 Playskool upgraded polybushes all round. 路 Front and rear ARBs. Bodywork 路 Red ZK wide body, speedsport edition 路 Ducted nosecone 路 Unmarked 15inch alloys with Toyo R1R tyres all round with plenty of tread plus spare. 路 Standard floor with Fully carpeted interior. 路 4 point harnesses 路 Full wet weather gear (never used by me) 路 Full tonneau and boot box cover 路 Sports seats on runners with red piping (as new replacements fitted in 2020) 路 Carbon effect stoneguards 路 Heater recently reconditioned. 路 Integrated LED DRL and front indicators I鈥檒l be sad to see it go as it鈥檚 been part of the family for over 15 years but for various reasons it鈥檚 just not being used so it鈥檚 time for someone else to enjoy it. For its age I doubt you will find one in better condition or in such original spec and I鈥檓 confident it will give many more years of fun and enjoyment to someone. i'm planning to take it to Stoneleigh on Sunday if anyone is going and wants to see it in the flesh. I鈥檓 looking for offers over 拢12,000. thanks for looking Phil

  11. Better still, join us on the Convoy down - it's a big part of the show experiance! It's quite an amazing experiance being in a big convoy of Westfields, plus when you're not sure where you're going, it helps to be in a big bunch of friends!

  16. a quote from the radio show, I'm sorry I haven't a clue "Samantha has just started keeping bees, and already has three dozen or so. She says she's got an expert handler coming round to give a demonstration. He'll carefully take out her 38 bees... and soon have them flying round his head"

  24. It鈥檚 going to be off the road for a while馃槶, taken the prop of tonight and the noise is still there, I suspect the output shaft in the gearbox has failed. It鈥檚 looking like a new gearbox is needed.
