Hi All, I thought I'd introduce myself as I have just become a member of the WSCC, despite having been around Westfields for over 20 years (heaven knows why it's taken me so long!?!). My name is Lee, I'm based in Merseyside and have popped in and out of the forums for a good while now but have only posted for the first time today... Me and my dad have had several Westfields over the years - the obsession (because it is an obsession 🤪) started just before my 17th birthday with a copy of Ron Champion's famous book. We were poised to start a Locost build and had even started collecting parts, before a Westfield advert in CCC lead to us travelling down to Kingswinsford for the first time and having a blast out in the then new Speedsport demonstrator (it was bright Orange and I remember being excited to see it in all the motoring press afterwards). Fast forward to 12 months later, we'd moved to a house with a garage for the first time and, just after moving, got invited by Westfield to go and test some new cars that they were developing down at Curborough... it turned out that the first of the bike engined cars were circulating (the Megablade and Megabusa), I fell in love and haven't looked back since... We've since built two Fireblade engined cars (one of which we kept for 11 years) and a Blackbird engined one, all of which got moved on as my kids came along and time and money got tight. However, just before lockdown I came across the old Megabusa demonstrator from 2000/2001 for sale in Cornwall and I couldn't resist, so I'm back in the Westfield fold. I love my trackdays but do a lot more driving on road than on track, and can be found zipping about North Wales and Cheshire on most sunny Sundays. Hopefully being part of the WSCC will mean that I can get out and about a bit more in my car with some like-minded people, and it'll give my other half's ears a rest from the incessant Westfield chat 😄 Lee. 😊2 points

@Si.Dalziel Yes mate, sorting some runs out will be good. 👍 I can't get to Stoneleigh this year as I'm busy next weekend, but I think I might blast down to Knutsford services before you all set off, say hello and get some photos of the group of cars.2 points

Hi there! I'm Simon from Spain. I love lightweight cars and I would like to own a Westfield. I have an Opel Speedster turbo, and I loving it. But I think that I need something more pure, less is more. I tried to write in "for sale" forum but I can't...I think that the problem is that I haven't got any message or something similar. I would like to buy a megabusa, but I don't know if I can register the car here, because I need the COC. The other option is one with a minimum of 30 years old, to register with classic plates. But most are SE not SEI...and I prefer the ford zetec engine, cheap and reliable. Cheers!!🍻1 point

Will be there, just need an oil change, and find out why the speedo isn't working. One is essential, the other is a nice to have. 😇1 point

£108 last year, £199 this year. That's what happens when you make a claim. A Plan helped with sorting the claim, so no probs there. Agreed value, paid promptly and in full. Don't forget, agreed value needs to be reviewed every two years. Otherwise it's market value after that.1 point

More great service today from A Plan to arrange temp cover for my daughter to drive one of my cars. Thanks Carlie and the team and I am very glad all my cars are insured through A Plan1 point

Hey everyone, I know my kits, but there's never harm in learning more and I learn so much from your build posts so keep them coming! I've been helping out my neighbour (who is also our client) with his Robin Hood repairs and I've loved every minute of it, I am insured to drive it and have been out for a couple of blats - even though it's my first time back in a manual since passing my test many years ago 😄 so yes, before you ask, I did stall it more than once hahahaa. On a serious note, this is just an example of how important it is for me to fully learn about what we insure because just selling a product isn't what we are about, we are so proud to be a part of your community, tag along to meets and hang out with you at events - because that's what the kit world is about, getting out and enjoying the cars and their journeys. But here we go, my little gearbox change adventure! https://blog.aplan.co.uk/robin-hood-gearbox-change/ Please share your builds below! I love to see them! Carlie P.s. see you at Stoneleigh1 point
