First run of the year.

A bit of friendly advice if you haven’t already booked your ticket online - Grosvenor are saying it takes 10 days to send the tickets out. Bearing in mind it’s a Bank Holiday weekend and they won’t be back in the office until Tuesday the 19th, and the show started 12 days after that, it would be wise to buy your ticket(s) now to get the discounted prices to avoid possible hassle. On a side note - why do I ALWAYS get stuck in the queue at the entrance gate behind some numpty who isn’t ready to pay and doesn’t have their readies to hand? One day I might just have to find them and shove a camshaft up their +++CARRIER LOST+++

Home this afternoon after a two day jaunt home from toybox. All snug in its new home tonight. I’ll treat it to a wash and clean tomorrow.

Collected on Friday afternoon, start of a drive home to Paisley via a night in the Lake District.

...and wondered how much fun the roads would be? We drove just about every road on the island, and there wasn't a straight piece of tarmac on it! Being an old-school JDMer, I love the Datsun Sunny and Toyota Starlet giving the modern stuff a run for their money.

I love seeing Westfields queued up at a port, reminds me of the fun and adventure these cars embody.

What sort. I knocked up a frame of my roll bar and windscreen made from wood at almost the right angles. Covered it in 3mm ply and did the bendy bits in cardboard then covered it in cheap duct tape. Lathered that in furniture polish then laid up a thin shee of fibre glass on the mold. Offered that up to the car to make sure it fitted then tried it to size, laid the top on the angle of the windscreen and put a lip on the back to slot over the roll bar. Not bad for someone whose never made anything from fibre glass before

There's a few of us that live south of Derby heading up tomorrow. We are meeting at the A50/A38 services (DE65 6DX) for 9am to kick the tyres before heading to Matlock. We'll be taking the A38 for a few milea before peeling off for the A6 and then the much more fun B roads to Wirksworth for a splash and dash. If anyone fancies joining the convoy feel free 👍

Just finished mine it's a bit rough round the edges but for £80 quid ish in materials I'm happy. Hopefully it won't take flight on its first trip 🤣🤣🤣🤣
