Still getting things right for stoneleigh

Rubbish inconsistent fuel reading.. I think I found the reserve.

Getting in nice and early with this to hopefully get a large convoy sorted. For those that have joined the convoy before I have copied directly from previous years. Starting point for this year is Knutsford Services with enough time to fuel up and meet up with the rest of the North West Areas, we aim for a prompt 8.00am departure, so can cars be topped up with fuel and ready to go. A slow down at Sandbach Services, cars usually wait on the exit slip road A brief stop at Stafford Services- to plan photoshoot and swap convoy leaders. A drive through at Hilton Services (No Stopping) We will follow the Balsall Common to Kenilworth route missing Gatso alley Arriving at Stoneleigh for around 10ish. https://goo.gl/maps/byr16te3oWGKaL1u7 We have used Whatsapp's live location feature to good effect and will be using it again for this. Follow the link below to join the WhatsApp group. There will be a few 360 cameras floating round in the convoy so lots of smiles and waves. We will hopefully get some good footage again this year to share. This year entry isn’t free for kit cars so don’t forget to have tickets or cash readily available for arrival. Volunteers I believe still get free entry but I’m not 100% on how that’s going to work. Who's joining us?

Went to Thornton Le Dale, saw Derek but he was busy.

Whilst I feel a bit silly for doing this in the first instance, I really appreciate the explanations why it wasn’t a good idea as I can learn from this for the future. Interesting to learn how something that felt quite innocuous can turn into a critical point of failure with potentially serious consequences. 😳

As @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary correctly states, compression limiters should be used to maintain clamp loading provided by bolts. All plastic in varying degrees will ‘creep’ with temperature, humidity and vibration. Creep essentially reduces clamp loading initially offered by the mechanical fixing. Ie the bolt comes loose in time. So having no compression limiters for a safety critical item is not advised! Andy
