  3. Getting in nice and early with this to hopefully get a large convoy sorted. For those that have joined the convoy before I have copied directly from previous years. Starting point for this year is Knutsford Services with enough time to fuel up and meet up with the rest of the North West Areas, we aim for a prompt 8.00am departure, so can cars be topped up with fuel and ready to go. A slow down at Sandbach Services, cars usually wait on the exit slip road A brief stop at Stafford Services- to plan photoshoot and swap convoy leaders. A drive through at Hilton Services (No Stopping) We will follow the Balsall Common to Kenilworth route missing Gatso alley Arriving at Stoneleigh for around 10ish. https://goo.gl/maps/byr16te3oWGKaL1u7 We have used Whatsapp's live location feature to good effect and will be using it again for this. Follow the link below to join the WhatsApp group. There will be a few 360 cameras floating round in the convoy so lots of smiles and waves. We will hopefully get some good footage again this year to share. This year entry isn’t free for kit cars so don’t forget to have tickets or cash readily available for arrival. Volunteers I believe still get free entry but I’m not 100% on how that’s going to work. Who's joining us?

  9. Don't you love this time of the year when @Scotty72, @NigelO and other old friends come out of hibernation, @Chris Emm is hoping to come too, brill, can't wait to see you all. Good luck with the MOT Scott and look forward to seeing you both, perhaps over Easter. Nigel, if you get chance could you bring the gear knob please? Sadly the Bull i Thorn is not reopening for the summer season, the plan is for it to be converted back into a pub, so we will have to slum it at Mucky D's for a while longer until I can find elsewhere to meet.

  10. If the weather is OK, I might just be up for this - first run out of the year. Had a quick shakedown run last weekend after changing the coolant - just got to pull the dash & scuttle off on Saturday to fit a CTEK charging point and all should be OK for Sunday

  12. I purchased these wheels as brand new Matt black items from Andrew at Toybox about 6-8 weeks ago. I immediately had them refinished in an awesome colour called Hyper black. The wheels have been coated in Gtechniq C5 wheel armour. They were bought with brand new tyres R888R on rear (225/50/15) and excellent condition R888 on front (205/50/15). Since fitting them the wheels and tyres have done about 250 easy road miles. I’ve decided that I want 13” wheels instead of 15” and a set of 13” pro race 1.2 came up for sale which I’ve snapped up. So I have for sale these wheels and will also be selling my 15” pro race 1.2 wheels in a short while. I don’t know the offset of these wheels but they are the wheels Toybox put on all their latest builds and Andrew had them made to the required offsets. The wheels are 8” wide. They fit under my standard rear ZK body arches but I did trim back the lip with a dremel due to the 225 wide tyres. The photo of the wheel on the car was in the old Matt black but gives an idea of fitment/look to anyone interested. Looking for £450 or best offer. Buyer to collect or arrange courier from Barnsley (1 min from junction 36 M1).

  13. Not quite sure how to deal with this one. Short version is that I sold my XI to a man in Scotland, who loves the car, but now cannot get in or out of it, as he has severe arthritis and is on the list to have 2 new knees. So he wants to sell the XI. He contacted me yesterday to ask if I knew of any members of our Club who might be interested in buying the car. I'm not posting a full "for sale" advert. here, because it is a car for which there is only a small potential market, but if anyone is seriously interested I can put you in touch with the present owner. However if you want to know more, and many in the Club will already know the car, I did post on here a very lengthy build thread, and the car was on display in the Club marquee at Stoneleigh after I built it some years ago. I also took it to Blyton several years ago, for the Club trackday and sprint weekend. Suffice to say that this car was built to a very high spec., almost money no object, and has done less than 2,000 miles since "new". I don't know how much the owner is asking for the car, but I would guess that it is considerably less than what it cost me to build!

  19. Not changed for quite a while, they don't tend to last forever. You'll see a variety of prices just make sure it's MFI certified. I had some that stopped working the phone would no long work with them.

  24. Hey everyone, I know my kits, but there's never harm in learning more and I learn so much from your build posts so keep them coming! I've been helping out my neighbour (who is also our client) with his Robin Hood repairs and I've loved every minute of it, I am insured to drive it and have been out for a couple of blats - even though it's my first time back in a manual since passing my test many years ago 😄 so yes, before you ask, I did stall it more than once hahahaa. On a serious note, this is just an example of how important it is for me to fully learn about what we insure because just selling a product isn't what we are about, we are so proud to be a part of your community, tag along to meets and hang out with you at events - because that's what the kit world is about, getting out and enjoying the cars and their journeys. But here we go, my little gearbox change adventure! https://blog.aplan.co.uk/robin-hood-gearbox-change/ Please share your builds below! I love to see them! Carlie P.s. see you at Stoneleigh
