  2. First public day, that is. The Sunday. Don't get confused nearer the time about talk of the Saturday - that's the shows set up day, you will be very welcome to come down and help on the Saturday, too, of course. Just there's not that much to see, at that point! A few of us local, often do a rolling start, to join the convoy as it comes through jn17/Sandbach. Or there is a formal gathering point at Knutsford services. Whilst not quiet as epic as the nineties early 2000's convoys, the Stoneleigh M6 Convoy is still a thing to experience, at least once, (and hopefully many times) in your kit car ownership.

  3. 1) Sunday is better in my opinion, as many people stay until much later in the day 2) Yes, definitely if you possibly can! 3) Take a good wander around other club areas - there are lots of interesting cars out there - normally more than in the show hall itself, which might still be rather small this year Other tips: Suncream, umbrellas, warm clothing. If you can, volunteer for a stint with the club marquee as you'll be made very welcome

  4. You might get me along for the breakfast. The 911 is at the dealer having a water pump replaced (luckily under warranty as it involves taking the engine out!). So they've given me an Electric Blue Cayman to have some fun in Not as quick as the Targa but still a nice toy to play with.

  6. There is generally a convoy heading down there on the first day. Details will be posted closer to the time. last year was a bit of a comedy of errors but we did manage to gather along the route and all made it to stoneleigh eventually.

  10. Well he did tweak my headlight alignment despite knowing that I never drive it in the dark and hardly ever on the road at all. He's an amateur racing driver himself (Triumph Spitfire) and a long standing member of the TR Register. The tea was incidental to discussing matters of safety and other automotive related matters. We plead not guilty m'lud!

  11. I've just tried Code10 and that didn't work, so I tried WSCC10 and that did work with 10% off! So if anyone wants to order anything from Hamilton classics that's the code to use. πŸ™‚

  17. It is depressing. I used to work for Hoover at head office in Perivale many years ago, and they were a very good firm to work for and the products sold well. The along came John Bloom with the Rolls Razor Co. cheap twin tub washing machine at a big discount compared with Hoover's one. That's when the rot started for Hoover. The infamous free flights debacle pretty well sank the already ailing operation and cost Β£20 million, and now they are an offshoot of Candy. Later in my career I worked for GKN Sankey and they too have shrunk to a fraction of their former size. Maybe it's me...
