  2. Agreed @RobH72, the weather was sooooo perfect, if I hadn't got to get back I would defo have stopped out longer, but it won't be long before Glen is more mobile and can look after himself. Glen's son came over to 'babysit' for me today ๐Ÿ˜, for which I am very grateful for ๐Ÿ‘, meaning we could all have our food fun. Cake for breakfast at Quackers, with a takeaway box for Glen to keep me in the good books Bakewell tart, very moist almond sponge, top and tailed with pastry and icing, drooooool, jam in there somewhere too Parked at Quackers. We were also joined today with Paul and Pat who have bought another VX220 Turbo, but you could have guessed that with the registration plate. We had a wiggle around the Peak District, up down and round with views in every direction, you just couldn't fail in this beautiful weather. Our new neck warmers were debuted today, a big thank you to the club for providing every member of the Peak District area with one. Come and get yours next time you visit us. The neck warmers were so warm Dave was able to wear his shorts Parked at The Millstone Country Inn With views over the Dark Peak towards Castleton from the car park Having had dessert for breakfast it was time to have a beef Sunday lunch Reluctantly it was time to go home, but soon we will take advantage of the longer days and warmer weather and we will go on. Thank you for coming everyone and if Glen is able to manage on his own or if his son can babysit for me, we will make one next weekend. This is his new knee with it's 8" long scar, he sends his love and will be back with us all as soon as he can XXXX

  3. A beautiful sunny day for a last minute impromptu meet up at Curborough to watch the Autosolo for a couple of hours this morning. I've never watched an autosolo before, but seems a fun and cost effective way of getting into motorsport. Amazingly there were about 50 cars competing from little hatches like Micra's, Nova's, Mini's etc, loads of MX5's and even a couple of Mk1 Escorts.

  4. Only ruddy just, it went the scenic way home, in Quackers it got nicked didn't it @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary, then it miraculously appeared in my car, best bit is that it was in a box and I never checked if the cake was actually in the box, I could have taken an empty box home๐Ÿ˜ฎ what kind of month is that to come off SORN? half way through the year that is๐Ÿ˜„ Glen thanks everyone for their kind comments and says send more cake, it eases the pain.......I'll take that as a pass out for next weekend then๐Ÿ˜ƒ Oh, don't forget we will be on bikerpics A625 Froggatt https://www.bikerpics.co.uk/f271986030

  6. Day 2. Much better fit, after cross reference from orignal bonnet. Still adjustment required on the nose cone end. Maybe I need some of that rubber strip.

  7. Today's weather was too good to miss. What a cracking day we had. 150 miles of smiles, well almost. With a broken cycle wing stay and a slight nudge at a petrol station ๐Ÿค• . Thanks to all that made this one, we found some good roads, and others to forget ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. Here's to the next one!

  8. https://acoup.blog/2022/02/25/miscellanea-understanding-the-war-in-ukraine/ I was going to write some stuff but this chap does it better, even if it's a 20-minute read. In my view, the best bet for Ukraine's long-term independence from Russia is for the west to fund and enable Ukrainian resistance, in parallel with taking sufficiently harsh economic sanctions so that Russia's economy falters and Putin can't afford the blood and treasure that would be required. If you consider the trouble that USA had in Afghanistan and Iraq, with billions of dollars and dozens of partners, which led to ultimate failure, there is no way that a cash-strapped Putin is going to win (long-term) in Ukraine, with virtually zero global support. Trouble is, it's going to be very messy in the short-term. Sponsor the Ukraine war effort here (yes, it's genuine and safe): https://armysos.com.ua/en/help-the-army
