So sorry to hear this, so glad an event was organised for him and that he had all his friends attend. I didn’t know Gary, but any one into cars is a friend of mine. RIP Gary.2 points

1L is plenty, Mocal are very good because they have a breathable cap. I'd just run both crank and cam breathers to that and block off the spigot underneath your intake pipe. If you mount the tank high up, oil vapour will tend to drain back to the engine, which helps too.2 points

Hi everyone, just joined the site and am starting to look for a Westfield to mainly use for track days and a little bit on the road 😊 I used to have a mega blade a long time ago and have been out of the car scene for a while. But now am starting to get pretty excited about owning one again! This time I would like a car engine , probably 2.0 with 150-200bhp . Nothing that I have to stress about to much - just use and tinker with! Any way , just wanted to say hi!1 point

Hi Bunty, welcome. I have just joined myself and purchased the car earlier this month. I went for a SEIW 1.8 Zetec, just under £10K giving out approx 160bhp according to the dyno graph. I've only managed to drive it home so far (150 miles!) but it feels plenty fast enough for me. For now 😉 I guess mine would be fine for the track but you always want more power, so as others have said, just go for the best example you can find for the money. I think your budget should be ok given the patience of looking. I was tempted by a bike engine (love the sound) but as a newbie wanted something a little more sensible as a first car. Good luck. A 2.0 with 150-200bhp... given the choice between XE, Zetec or Duratec, I'd buy whichever one was in the best condition or looked the prettiest. I don't think either of those engines are particularly troubled by those power outputs, so wouldn't rule any of them out purely on engine. Unless one was on carbs. I'd rule that out purely because I'm a millennial and I don't understand them1 point

Welcome! If you are struggling with sorting the carbs and can't find anywhere local there is a company called Carbcare in Lichfield that do a postal service. They are very reasonable on price and Alan who owns the company is a real old school, time served carburettor guru (a thoroughly nice guy too).1 point
