  2. We met at a nice and quiet Carsington Water, quiet because nobody can get up on a New Years Day, but you lot did and I am so pleased and proud of you for doing that, thank you very much. All this seating area that overlooks the reservoir is normally taken but not today, so we had it. ALL of it We were 9 Westfields (ta Rob for a better photo than mine) 9 Westfield's and cute little Cortina Burton Car Club joined us later Steve came is his 'lesser' car, it only had a 3.5 litre V6 and so he tells me it's one of those cars from the scruffy turnip farmers in Norfolk😀, good job his friend kept up our tradition (in the absence of @BillyPee) and bought his Porsche too Anyhow, after really lots of tyre kicking we did manage to go on a run out, a posers run because we went through Matlock Bath and Bakewell before heading onto the empty country lanes to finish up at Hulme End Tea Junction cafe, where Steve thought he would show us his bum and a very nice bum it is too😃 Parked at Hulme End Dave, Glynn and David and Marilla, with Steve's Evora This is Lee and Clare's red top engined beast of a Westfield and it is the first time that I have seen the new seats in the flesh, oh my, no wonder Lee is over the moon with them. Tony in the yellow 2 litre Zetec and the welcomed return of @Big Andy and Debs in the Black one, 1.8 Zetec same as us My scruffy little thing Just in case you were wondering, cake, in the form of Bakewell Tart, was consumed here Hulme End, Dave kept up a Cheshire tradition and wore his shorts More tyre kicking at Hulme End on Hedley's car, notice the 360 degree camera, let's hope it was switched on😲. What can I say, I am stunned, you pegged back your NYE drinking to join Glen and I on this, the warmest New Year's Day ever, we are so glad you did and hope you are too.

  3. Great stuff! Glad you are having fun with it again. Just before the festive period my 4th week of being back saw me qualify in the next final up for the first time (in an awkward no mans land 3 laps ahead of the fastest C final car, and 3 laps behind the main 4 drivers in the B final). Hopefully it means I'll be starting a heat higher from now on though so I'll get less incidents with slow traffic. We are back tonight and starting the 'Winter Championship' whereby you get points for qualifying and final positions, and your score is your best 4 out of 6 weeks. Just for fun but will hopefully mean we can build up some nice little competitive battles down the order. Car prepped and ready to go...

  5. I forgot to mention, I decided on an Associated RC10 B6.3 with Sanwa radio. The electrics have come on leaps and bounds, I was amazed that the frequency no longer requires a crystal!

  6. Although I am always happy to receive an award. It was a stich-up & I have proof! I am about to share the video created from yesterday & whilst there are many frustrations; like placing the front camera incorrectly, not being camera steady in places. Overall I am very happy with the result. After all, I am only a few weeks in. Ian, I have shared this here, due to the conversational relationship. But I would also like if possible to reach more members. Can you assist? or suggest.

  9. lol, no i just hate throwing stuff away, what you can't see in that photo is a slightly rusty but very dented rear bumper from a rover p5, which now is going to see it's days out as a planter as well.

  18. I dont want it @DMc, I've got one and its the best braking upgrade I've done. I would like the part number for that spare seal kit though, could come in handy in the future.

  22. If you have 7" rims get a set of the Michelin ps3s in 195 50 15. The ex ginetta sets are just scrubbed in and a complete bargain. Send the toyos to be recycled into playground chippings. Best place for them. IMO the ps3 are the best all season road tyres. Yes they arent as grippy as an 888 or ns2r in the warm and dry, but if your using the car in all weathers and temps they are great. My car has 220 bhp at the wheels and they cope just fine.

  25. The Thames Valley boys like to go to Abingdon for trackdays, safe open airfield with not much to hit. Keep in touch with them and the Trackday forum. In the meantime, keep driving the Westfield to familiarise yourself with its awesome power. One big tip, as you have a black car use your headlights during the day, our cars are invisible to many road users. Happy Blatting as we say.

  26. Santa did well this year (well, my lads did!) and I received a load of RC bits to upgrade my old 2003 Team Associated RC10B4 to 5000KV brushless and 2s/3s LiPo's.... Hopefully I won't smash her up first time out, I'll definitely be using the 2s packs to start with! I may even transfer the set up to the old 1984 Tamiya Hornet for a laugh, it'll be a smidgen faster than the old 80's vintage 17t Demon motor its currently running 😂

  28. Thanks to @Andy Malone - Editor creating this post, it stirred up my desire to go racing again, so as it’s Christmas what better excuse than to get some 1/10th electric buggy kit together. Even better than that the club meets at the school opposite where I live! I never knew 🤦🏼‍♂️ I’ve been to my first club meet today and had a blast, knocking a second off each of my heats, and finishing 3rd, and even a 2nd. The final was a bit of a bust with a technical issue. However massive fun, dropped straight back into my childhood again. Going to try and upload a couple of pics, so,we will see if the forum is still broken.
