Ok I will own up, ( this one wasn’t me) but I did exactly that a few days ago too being heavy footed on a damp roundabout. Luckily No harm done and a valuable lesson learned! https://www.instagram.com/tv/CYJizxyqr1s/?utm_medium=copy_link3 points

Great pirouette! My first venture into this art was in a lowly A30 when I was 17, turned from the main road into a T junction and ending up going back the way I had come. My mate who was following laughed so much because he said my car was hopping round with the rear axle looking like it was going to part company🤣2 points

Yeah done similar in an sw20 mr2 ( the spinning like a ballerina) not the cutting lanes lol ended up facing the wrong way on the roundabout covering the on ramp for the M9 motorway with a few folks sitting giving me the evils…….mr2 owners call this their “special moment” I can only guess at why as it wasn’t very special for me… was a major code brown lol 💩2 points

If you have 7" rims get a set of the Michelin ps3s in 195 50 15. The ex ginetta sets are just scrubbed in and a complete bargain. Send the toyos to be recycled into playground chippings. Best place for them. IMO the ps3 are the best all season road tyres. Yes they arent as grippy as an 888 or ns2r in the warm and dry, but if your using the car in all weathers and temps they are great. My car has 220 bhp at the wheels and they cope just fine.1 point

Pre coloured to match the rust - very forward thinking I had stickers to hide the rust. Envious, you had 200cc over mine so at least 25% more power if it was running more than 3 cylinders😵1 point

Michelin Pilots or Uniroyal Rainsports if you want to use the car all year around. If you want to do trackdays and mainly summer driving any of the road legal semi slicks that are available,Nankang Ar1 or NS2-R if you don't want the expense of Toyos👍1 point

Hi all, Just wated to introduce myself as a new member to the club, having recently been over to see Andrew at Toybox and picked up a very special early Christmas present for myself a few weeks ago. I'm based in Windsor so looking forward to attending the Thames Valley meets, and hopefully a few track days in the spring/summer. Charlie.1 point

The first time it happened to me was when I learned the pitfalls of lift off oversteer in my mother's chocolate brown Vauxhall Nova saloon (I know, very stylish!) as an 18yr old.... pedalling the mighty 1.0 litre pushrod powerhouse faster than it had any reason to go down a wet B5000 in Tamworth, I found myself quickly reversing down the wrong exit off a roundabout with brown trousers. The bus driver I'd just overtaken shook his head and gave a very good imitation of the late Gareth Hunt shaking coffee beans in his Nescafe advert as he serenely drove passed 😂1 point

Popped out again this morning to a classic/yank tank meet in Polesworth (I went to school there so was surprised they let me back in! 😂) with Burton Car Club. Thankfully Dale came along so I wasn't the only Westfield in the village 👍 A stunning little Ginetta with a BMW K1200 bike engine was the star of the show for me!1 point

This is a recommendation for anyone who is looking for a Westfield-friendly night stop with secure garage parking in West Wales, near Lampeter. It is very comfortable and well appointed and it just happens to be owned by a former member of the WSCC, who is also a very good mechanic just in case you need technical support, and it is perfectly located for some great driving as well as the coast. May be of use to someone in the coming months. Stayed there a few weeks ago and had a great time. https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/51590241?federated_search_id=e0de389d-4011-4629-b546-8b0ce8eaf55e&guests=1&adults=11 point

Although I am always happy to receive an award. It was a stich-up & I have proof! I am about to share the video created from yesterday & whilst there are many frustrations; like placing the front camera incorrectly, not being camera steady in places. Overall I am very happy with the result. After all, I am only a few weeks in. Ian, I have shared this here, due to the conversational relationship. But I would also like if possible to reach more members. Can you assist? or suggest.1 point

An adventure day today lol !!! started off out at 10am a tad fresh and icy but the forecast was to warm up, aviemore was -5 so thought I’ll go over the lecht, so a wee pit stop at corgarf and it was looking promising ( must have been looking the wrong way lol ) then up and over to Glen Sheil and Braemar, filled up with fuel and a helpful passerby informed me it was snowing at Glenshee, ach it’ll be fine- I’ll just tak it cannae , I answered. So off I went along the Glen and it wasn’t bad then I climbed up past the ski centre on roads covered in slush and snow 😃 over and down the south side where it was just wet , now along here I came up with a plan duh and turned off onto the single track road through Glen Isla to Kirriemuir which a submarine would have been more suitable , now because in my eternal wisdom I had opened the roof panels there was more water in my lap and inside Tommy than out !!! Still better than the tv !!! So ontowards Laurencekirk and the plan was to head over the cairn o mount but finding some floods that looked a little deep and it getting darker we turned back and took the main roads home . so 185 miles and both me and Tommy home like a pair of drowned rats but happy as Larry . Both dried down and warm now !1 point

I had an original Tamiya Sandscorcher which I used to race against my friends' cars (in our back gardens). They had a Rough Rider and a Holiday Buggy. (My radio was a 3 channel Sanwa). We had excellent fun and tried to get extra speed out of them by upgrading to ball racers to replace the standard bushes. Upgrades took a while given that they were financed with paper round money! We used to fast charge the NiCds to death in 20 mins with a large resistor and car battery - things often got quite hot but being without a charged battery was not an option when there were trees to crash into! I bought my son a ready to run BDH electric buggy which is fun and indestructible (with a pistol grip controller that I cannot get the hang of). Not long ago I bought a 30+ year old Mardave Marauder (nitro car) in bits. We rebuilt it and regularly run it in the park. It's rear wheel drive, has no differential and is completely manic to drive - very difficult to keep from donutting on wet ground. We use an old 35MHz aeroplane radio to control it. This is an old school radio with sticks (i.e. not pistol grip) so I'm used to it (as is my son now!).1 point
