Although I am always happy to receive an award. It was a stich-up & I have proof! I am about to share the video created from yesterday & whilst there are many frustrations; like placing the front camera incorrectly, not being camera steady in places. Overall I am very happy with the result. After all, I am only a few weeks in. Ian, I have shared this here, due to the conversational relationship. But I would also like if possible to reach more members. Can you assist? or suggest.12 points

Popped out again this morning to a classic/yank tank meet in Polesworth (I went to school there so was surprised they let me back in! ๐) with Burton Car Club. Thankfully Dale came along so I wasn't the only Westfield in the village ๐ A stunning little Ginetta with a BMW K1200 bike engine was the star of the show for me!7 points

Van prices appear to have gone even more crazy than cars at the moment and a budget that small wonโt buy you too much in the current market and certainly not something thatโs been looked after and without issues. Iโm looking for a small van myself (transit courier) as Iโm planning a career change later in the year. Doing my research and looking at the MoT history of ones in the ยฃ6-ยฃ8K price bracket most have long failure history which suggests theyโve been poorly maintained and some with serious failure issues. as Jeff suggests Iโd be looking at people carriers and taking the back seats out. Theyโll be a lot more to choose from.2 points

I appear to have mislaid my WSCC hat. Forgot to add to the extensive Santa list. Still royalties should cover a new one.2 points

Add me to that list. It makes my urine boil when I see healthy people try to use flimsy excuses to avoid wearing them, particularly โthat infringes on my rightsโ or the โitโs against my beliefs to wear a maskโ crap - well, itโs against my beliefs to interact with idiots like that.2 points

Managed to get a short video of you all leaving Carsington today. Thanks for arranging it @Julie Hall - Joint Peak District AO, fab day out as usual ๐2 points

this has happend to me a couple of time in my old modded 200sx (tried to kill you lol) bit spikey on boost and i have done an impressive piroette in the wesfiield. im celebrating this chap/chapess because they are out in the rain ๐ i suspect a passenger in the car and a "watch this" moment ๐ we have all been there.1 point

I did something similar back in the mists of time when I first starting driving. My first car, a Fiat 850 Special. Rear engine, oil spill on a wet roundabout, crap tyres, more enthusiasm than talentโฆ.โฆyou can probably guess whatโs next. Thankfully, it was low speed and no other traffic about. I did 180 degrees, came to a stop facing the wrong way then reversed casually out of the exit Iโd originally been aiming for, continued into a nearby parking area then drove out forwards and carried onโฆ.what yoof call โstyling it outโ I believeโฆ.1 point

Another member has a good suggestion here- we just need to work out how to make it work for the club. Perhaps join in and help make it fly?1 point

Look for a Citroen Berlingo as they hold same as a van and tips have no restrictions. Worth considering British Heart Foundation for big stuff and the rest, but we sold a lot via Facebook market place. Also look at the cost of a skip or local waste carrier, check licence so no come back and finally house clearance companies often not too bad cost wise.1 point

Great Video Hedley. you just need some pink and white in it! I really hope you didn't put your car through the car wash though!1 point

This is a recommendation for anyone who is looking for a Westfield-friendly night stop with secure garage parking in West Wales, near Lampeter. It is very comfortable and well appointed and it just happens to be owned by a former member of the WSCC, who is also a very good mechanic just in case you need technical support, and it is perfectly located for some great driving as well as the coast. May be of use to someone in the coming months. Stayed there a few weeks ago and had a great time. https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/51590241?federated_search_id=e0de389d-4011-4629-b546-8b0ce8eaf55e&guests=1&adults=11 point

think i paid way more than that for mine last year, sure it was almost 40. at least i now know how small the parts are and in what order to build it.. i built it as i would a full size car, that doesn't work for a model... yeah i dont read instuctions, doh.1 point

Have stayed at New Quay for many years over Whit week, typically dolphin watching and spending time on the beach. Always loved that area, everything runs at a slower pace. Thanks for the tip, kids are growing up quick into young adults so there maybe an option to go in the Westfield if I can convince my better half ๐ Andy1 point

We met at a nice and quiet Carsington Water, quiet because nobody can get up on a New Years Day, but you lot did and I am so pleased and proud of you for doing that, thank you very much. All this seating area that overlooks the reservoir is normally taken but not today, so we had it. ALL of it We were 9 Westfields (ta Rob for a better photo than mine) 9 Westfield's and cute little Cortina Burton Car Club joined us later Steve came is his 'lesser' car, it only had a 3.5 litre V6 and so he tells me it's one of those cars from the scruffy turnip farmers in Norfolk๐, good job his friend kept up our tradition (in the absence of @BillyPee) and bought his Porsche too Anyhow, after really lots of tyre kicking we did manage to go on a run out, a posers run because we went through Matlock Bath and Bakewell before heading onto the empty country lanes to finish up at Hulme End Tea Junction cafe, where Steve thought he would show us his bum and a very nice bum it is too๐ Parked at Hulme End Dave, Glynn and David and Marilla, with Steve's Evora This is Lee and Clare's red top engined beast of a Westfield and it is the first time that I have seen the new seats in the flesh, oh my, no wonder Lee is over the moon with them. Tony in the yellow 2 litre Zetec and the welcomed return of @Big Andy and Debs in the Black one, 1.8 Zetec same as us My scruffy little thing Just in case you were wondering, cake, in the form of Bakewell Tart, was consumed here Hulme End, Dave kept up a Cheshire tradition and wore his shorts More tyre kicking at Hulme End on Hedley's car, notice the 360 degree camera, let's hope it was switched on๐ฒ. What can I say, I am stunned, you pegged back your NYE drinking to join Glen and I on this, the warmest New Year's Day ever, we are so glad you did and hope you are too.1 point

An adventure day today lol !!! started off out at 10am a tad fresh and icy but the forecast was to warm up, aviemore was -5 so thought Iโll go over the lecht, so a wee pit stop at corgarf and it was looking promising ( must have been looking the wrong way lol ) then up and over to Glen Sheil and Braemar, filled up with fuel and a helpful passerby informed me it was snowing at Glenshee, ach itโll be fine- Iโll just tak it cannae , I answered. So off I went along the Glen and it wasnโt bad then I climbed up past the ski centre on roads covered in slush and snow ๐ over and down the south side where it was just wet , now along here I came up with a plan duh and turned off onto the single track road through Glen Isla to Kirriemuir which a submarine would have been more suitable , now because in my eternal wisdom I had opened the roof panels there was more water in my lap and inside Tommy than out !!! Still better than the tv !!! So ontowards Laurencekirk and the plan was to head over the cairn o mount but finding some floods that looked a little deep and it getting darker we turned back and took the main roads home . so 185 miles and both me and Tommy home like a pair of drowned rats but happy as Larry . Both dried down and warm now !1 point

The morning started nice and early and the weather was actually quite mild and dry (didn't last!). Ash and I met up enroute near Burton and we fun drive (roads were quiet ๐) up through Ashbourne to Tagg Lane to find Andrew and Glynn waiting for us..... but no Julie and Glen (hope you are feeling better soon @Julie Hall - Joint Peak District AO!). Very soon Paul and Margaret arrived (all the way from from sunny Oldham) and then Lee drove in to show off his new Intatrim heated seats (very jealous!). Ash also showed off his new Samsung Fold phone mount.... it gives him a mahoosive satnav screwn and allows him to film using the phone through through windscreen ๐ We now had 6 cars and 7 people with nowhere to go...... I think sometimes we all take for granted the hard work AO's like Julie put into planning our days out, but not us, not today! We were all scratching our heads on what to do next without our illustrious squadron leader! ๐ Thankfully Lee knows the area well, and after a customary cake and a brew, we headed off following him cross country through some lovely scenery. The roads were very damp and slippery but we arrived safe and sound for a nice lunch at the Ladybower Inn. A word of warning if anyone decides to go there, please be careful of the potholes in the carpark, they are that deep you can see kangaroos at the bottom!!! A huge thanks to @Lee Bennett for stepping up and taking us on a great route (despite loads of closed roads due to Remembrance Sunday events).1 point

@snowy892 @GaryD1971 Just about to get the car back from Tiger Racing. Timing belt + full service + checkover and a few bits sorted for a very reasonable amount. So thanks again for the recommendation. To be honest, it's been worth the club membership alone!1 point
