  1. We met at a nice and quiet Carsington Water, quiet because nobody can get up on a New Years Day, but you lot did and I am so pleased and proud of you for doing that, thank you very much. All this seating area that overlooks the reservoir is normally taken but not today, so we had it. ALL of it We were 9 Westfields (ta Rob for a better photo than mine) 9 Westfield's and cute little Cortina Burton Car Club joined us later Steve came is his 'lesser' car, it only had a 3.5 litre V6 and so he tells me it's one of those cars from the scruffy turnip farmers in Norfolk😀, good job his friend kept up our tradition (in the absence of @BillyPee) and bought his Porsche too Anyhow, after really lots of tyre kicking we did manage to go on a run out, a posers run because we went through Matlock Bath and Bakewell before heading onto the empty country lanes to finish up at Hulme End Tea Junction cafe, where Steve thought he would show us his bum and a very nice bum it is too😃 Parked at Hulme End Dave, Glynn and David and Marilla, with Steve's Evora This is Lee and Clare's red top engined beast of a Westfield and it is the first time that I have seen the new seats in the flesh, oh my, no wonder Lee is over the moon with them. Tony in the yellow 2 litre Zetec and the welcomed return of @Big Andy and Debs in the Black one, 1.8 Zetec same as us My scruffy little thing Just in case you were wondering, cake, in the form of Bakewell Tart, was consumed here Hulme End, Dave kept up a Cheshire tradition and wore his shorts More tyre kicking at Hulme End on Hedley's car, notice the 360 degree camera, let's hope it was switched on😲. What can I say, I am stunned, you pegged back your NYE drinking to join Glen and I on this, the warmest New Year's Day ever, we are so glad you did and hope you are too.

  7. Hi all, Happy New Year to you all - I hope that you have had a great break. I have recently sent out an email to WSSC members that have a Devon & Somerset postcode and where they have indicated in their profile that they are ok to receive email; asking if they would like to be added to the D&S WhatsApp group. I noticed that there are about another half a dozen members who have indicated that they prefer not to receive email - and so thought that I'd post here to ask if any would like to be added to the WhatsApp group? The WhatsApp tends to be the primary place where we communicate and arrange drives / meets etc. It would be great to add a few more folks to the group and to meet a few new faces across the area. I'd like to think that 2020 will give us a better opportunity to meet and to get a big group of Westie's together for a few drive outs once the weather perks up a bit. Please drop me a note if you would like to be added to the group of if you have any thoughts on meets / drives / cake eating opportunities for the coming year! Thanks, Sean

  10. This is a recommendation for anyone who is looking for a Westfield-friendly night stop with secure garage parking in West Wales, near Lampeter. It is very comfortable and well appointed and it just happens to be owned by a former member of the WSCC, who is also a very good mechanic just in case you need technical support, and it is perfectly located for some great driving as well as the coast. May be of use to someone in the coming months. Stayed there a few weeks ago and had a great time. https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/51590241?federated_search_id=e0de389d-4011-4629-b546-8b0ce8eaf55e&guests=1&adults=1

  11. £220 for all that has to be an absolute bargain. I paid £120 just for my heated gloves from a different manufacturer. I have used them for 3 winters now and they are still like brand new, I wouldn't be without them. I wish I was an XL.

  15. Soooo as it was dry today it would have been rude not to head out again 😃 But things didn’t quite go to plan to start with, a misfire on leaving home was quickly traced to 1 plug being full of water !! So mopped up the water and pulled all the plugs, new set in and running sweet, a quick message to say I was on my way and off I went to Aboyne arriving 30 minutes late and no sign of William , I assumed I’d missed him , oh well in the cafe for a full breakfast, coffee and cake 😃 On coming out I hear a westy approaching with William and Liam who had been waiting at Alford before realising it was Aboyne we were meeting at 🤣 so back in the cafe while they had a bacon roll and coffee, then a spirited run across to Ballater over the hills to Corgarf, over the Lecht and Brig o Broon to Grantown for fuel then back up speyside to Home where I said bye to William and Liam as they headed back to Aberdeen. A cracking day out but only a couple of pics( to busy having fun )
