  1. Soooo as it was dry today it would have been rude not to head out again 😃 But things didn’t quite go to plan to start with, a misfire on leaving home was quickly traced to 1 plug being full of water !! So mopped up the water and pulled all the plugs, new set in and running sweet, a quick message to say I was on my way and off I went to Aboyne arriving 30 minutes late and no sign of William , I assumed I’d missed him , oh well in the cafe for a full breakfast, coffee and cake 😃 On coming out I hear a westy approaching with William and Liam who had been waiting at Alford before realising it was Aboyne we were meeting at 🤣 so back in the cafe while they had a bacon roll and coffee, then a spirited run across to Ballater over the hills to Corgarf, over the Lecht and Brig o Broon to Grantown for fuel then back up speyside to Home where I said bye to William and Liam as they headed back to Aberdeen. A cracking day out but only a couple of pics( to busy having fun )

  4. Thank you everyone for your replies, I spoke with Andrew from Toybox who sent me over the parts I needed, now fitted and hopefully retest tomorrow. The MOT tester was lenient with the emissions and lights!!

  5. Hello, i just bought a Westfield TRZ from a guy that parked it for years. I plan to bring it on the track again. Its very hard to find informations about this car. I like to connect to other owners or anyone who can tell me more about the car. Greets from Hamburg / Germany

  8. Not the most exotic location for some car photos (my driveway) but having the car out and being driven in late December in the mountains of Montana, USA is a big deal. I skied yesterday and went for a blat today. Not bad. I wanted to show off my new front suspension courtesy of Siltech Racing. I was running the stock narrow track Westfield A arms and I opted for the +35 mm kit from Siltech. It installed beautifully and was super easy to set up. I love the simple camber adjustment that comes with this set up. I’ve had it on the road a number of times and I’m very impressed with how supple yet grounded it feels. It really does breathe with the road while at the same time it feels hunkered down and stuck to the floor. I will no doubt be quicker racing next year with this configuration. I finished it off with a new ARB (swaybar in American) of my own design and manufacture. It’s running in oillite bronze bushings and the lightweight end links (also my own work) are clamped in place by clamps made with the good folks at Clear Motorsport. As you can see there’s snow on the ground here but the roads were dry today so I couldn’t resist taking it out for what could be the last time this year seeing as more snow will be here soon. It’s good to have this stuff mostly set up and benchmarked so it will be ready in the spring for next year’s race season. Thank you Siltech and Clear. Dave

  11. As a near neighbour, I was hoping to meet up when the weather improves. I'd be the only one that can understand you. Anyway, lovely car. Good luck with the sale. I guess you'll be looking to buy a couple of houses with the proceeds 😅

  12. Hi 'JayKay' so we met yesterday and you tried sitting in my car, and saw different seat options and floor pans….but it worked fine…. standard widebody 2005 model as dave says driver side is wider…from memory, depending on level & thickness of interior trim it's definitely 10mm wider, possibly up to 20mm wider than passenger side type 9 floor mounted pedals old style Westfield vinyl sports seats jammed back against the rear bulkhead removable steering wheel making it easier to get in/out but I'm afraid it sold this morning, pending collection…..but then again it was dark red! Looking at the above comments and after our discussion yesterday perhaps you should try not to be too prescriptive at this stage: lowered floorpans can be retrofitted the pedal box position can (with patience and a bit of fettling!) be altered, although we've established that the position mine are in works ok for you a GRP race seat (Tillett or similar) bolted to the floor (using low profile mounting brackets) as far back as possible, would probably work very well you can change a 'fixed' steering wheel to one with a removable boss, again this can be done by someone with the relevant welding experience and I'm sure many club members have done this so maybe find the right coloured car !! with your desired engine capacity and a Type 9 gearbox and go from there….?? BTW in my opinion the Zero is an extremely well engineered car and the c20xe is a great engine, heresy I hear you say?…well, not really, but it's not a Westfield! Good luck with your search.

  13. There are lots of Westfields in Germany, I think at some point they were even imported officially. There is a guy on FB, Christoph Bettag, which knows a lot and still makes special parts for Westfields in Germany.

  15. An adventure day today lol !!! started off out at 10am a tad fresh and icy but the forecast was to warm up, aviemore was -5 so thought I’ll go over the lecht, so a wee pit stop at corgarf and it was looking promising ( must have been looking the wrong way lol ) then up and over to Glen Sheil and Braemar, filled up with fuel and a helpful passerby informed me it was snowing at Glenshee, ach it’ll be fine- I’ll just tak it cannae , I answered. So off I went along the Glen and it wasn’t bad then I climbed up past the ski centre on roads covered in slush and snow 😃 over and down the south side where it was just wet , now along here I came up with a plan duh and turned off onto the single track road through Glen Isla to Kirriemuir which a submarine would have been more suitable , now because in my eternal wisdom I had opened the roof panels there was more water in my lap and inside Tommy than out !!! Still better than the tv !!! So ontowards Laurencekirk and the plan was to head over the cairn o mount but finding some floods that looked a little deep and it getting darker we turned back and took the main roads home . so 185 miles and both me and Tommy home like a pair of drowned rats but happy as Larry . Both dried down and warm now !

  18. Mini road trip today, set out at 7.30am pitch black and 2 degrees , two and a half hours later and I arrived on the Wirral - I go on the A roads as I don't like motorways personally with a low, small car. Duties were performed , then the trip back same temp sadly and the roads were even busier, return journey taking 3 hrs with a 10 minute comfort break . pics are not so good, still getting used to this phone, but the car in Barnston, Wirral. I was tempted to stop en-route but to be honest my hands were so cold I could not work the phone 😄 Still thawing out to be honest and I have been back an hour , lol...

  19. No fog in Snowdon. Fantastic 100mile run out today and only got caught out in the fog bank when I dropped down into Conwy for my last 5 miles and no it wasn’t me who hit Santa.
