  1. An adventure day today lol !!! started off out at 10am a tad fresh and icy but the forecast was to warm up, aviemore was -5 so thought I’ll go over the lecht, so a wee pit stop at corgarf and it was looking promising ( must have been looking the wrong way lol ) then up and over to Glen Sheil and Braemar, filled up with fuel and a helpful passerby informed me it was snowing at Glenshee, ach it’ll be fine- I’ll just tak it cannae , I answered. So off I went along the Glen and it wasn’t bad then I climbed up past the ski centre on roads covered in slush and snow 😃 over and down the south side where it was just wet , now along here I came up with a plan duh and turned off onto the single track road through Glen Isla to Kirriemuir which a submarine would have been more suitable , now because in my eternal wisdom I had opened the roof panels there was more water in my lap and inside Tommy than out !!! Still better than the tv !!! So ontowards Laurencekirk and the plan was to head over the cairn o mount but finding some floods that looked a little deep and it getting darker we turned back and took the main roads home . so 185 miles and both me and Tommy home like a pair of drowned rats but happy as Larry . Both dried down and warm now !

  5. I'm glad it's not this one 😉 I wasn't sure what I was going to see and given my ability to lose caps whilst driving (hence the retractable lanyard currently fitted to mine), I didn't think this type of 'Westfield Rug' would 'fly'. However It's a great present you've had.

  6. Great to see some familiar names are still here. After 12 years on axle stands & 3 kids I've finally made a start on the rebuild. It's a Turbo XE if I can remember how it all goes back together.

  8. Just a reminder, it's our monthly meet on Thursday the 6th January, our first of 2022! Usual time and place, the Golden Pheasant, 7.30pm How many Westfields will we see? How many of us will choose shorts? Will Bill and Jon have matching t-shirts? All these questions and more answered on the night!

  9. My stand alone shed type workshop heating has been an issue for me for a while now. I have used electric also propane etc but not to any degree of successes. I have just fitted a £100 approx diesel oil heater made for motor caravans etc and it seems to be working OK. I did make the mistake to buying a modular unit and should have gone for the self contained system. I decided moved away from Westfields after Stonleigh this year (sorry) back to classic bikes 72 Honda CB500 Four and 67 Triumph TR6R ready for spring.

  10. Thanks for such a warm welcome everyone, great to see how much of a community feel there is on the forums. Quick rundown of the car, it's got a 2l Blacktop Zetec with OMEX ECU and throttle bodies on an MT75 gearbox, with Team Dynamics wheels. Part of the attraction to this model was that it's pretty close to what I was looking for, so while there's currently no immediate plans for changing anything on it, I'm sure that upgrade-itis isn't too far away. I took delivery of it just before heading back to see family for Christmas so currently don't have any other photos, but will make sure to head out in the new year to get some proper glamour shots of it I'll be looking to take part on some track days, but having never been on one before it's a slightly daunting prospect, are there some which are more newbie friendly, or will other members be happy to give some advice and show the ropes to a beginner? Sadly I'm not around for the January or February Thames Valley meets, but have put March in the calendar so look forward to seeing you there Steve!

  11. Which is where exactly? It seems to me that most of these stories are from people looking for an excuse to avoid the rules rather than having jobs or engaging in activities where wearing a mask would prevent that activity and no I'm not talking about going to the gym, and running/exercising outside does not require a mask. Certainly for any job where better O2 throughput and protection is required the employer would have thought about it already, surely? Completely agree and understand that masks are there ostensibly to protect others which makes the mask nay sayers position even more selfish and galling than it might otherwise appear.

  14. Not the most exotic location for some car photos (my driveway) but having the car out and being driven in late December in the mountains of Montana, USA is a big deal. I skied yesterday and went for a blat today. Not bad. I wanted to show off my new front suspension courtesy of Siltech Racing. I was running the stock narrow track Westfield A arms and I opted for the +35 mm kit from Siltech. It installed beautifully and was super easy to set up. I love the simple camber adjustment that comes with this set up. I’ve had it on the road a number of times and I’m very impressed with how supple yet grounded it feels. It really does breathe with the road while at the same time it feels hunkered down and stuck to the floor. I will no doubt be quicker racing next year with this configuration. I finished it off with a new ARB (swaybar in American) of my own design and manufacture. It’s running in oillite bronze bushings and the lightweight end links (also my own work) are clamped in place by clamps made with the good folks at Clear Motorsport. As you can see there’s snow on the ground here but the roads were dry today so I couldn’t resist taking it out for what could be the last time this year seeing as more snow will be here soon. It’s good to have this stuff mostly set up and benchmarked so it will be ready in the spring for next year’s race season. Thank you Siltech and Clear. Dave
