  1. Can you not construct a response without being derogatory any more?

  2. Which is where exactly? It seems to me that most of these stories are from people looking for an excuse to avoid the rules rather than having jobs or engaging in activities where wearing a mask would prevent that activity and no I'm not talking about going to the gym, and running/exercising outside does not require a mask. Certainly for any job where better O2 throughput and protection is required the employer would have thought about it already, surely? Completely agree and understand that masks are there ostensibly to protect others which makes the mask nay sayers position even more selfish and galling than it might otherwise appear.

  7. OK, thanks Andy. I don't know if Dave is a full member or not; I think if he's a trial member that means he can't send a pm. If he wants to get in touch and you have direct contact with him can you pm me so we can exchange telephone numbers, if that's ok with you?

  10. Working a 12 hour shift masked up was fine. However having to do any persistent heavy lifting or repeated journeys up and down stairs was difficult, very difficult, And I'm relatively fit and healthy. Some of the older 'less nimble' chaps were really blowing. So @Blatman from personal repeated experience I'd agree with @MR.C on this one. However I expect you'll find some data laden response to prove it wrong.

  17. Two centuries of study and research on these new MRNA vaccines? What's your thoughts on why the manufacturers of these new vaccines had all liability removed before they started giving them out?

  18. Could we say the same for alcoholics, smokers, drug addicts, motorcyclists and anyone else choosing to take a risk? I dont think anyone is mistrusting our healthcare, they don't create and distribute vaccines, they don't make policy they are just the good men and women who thankfully deal with what is put in front of them. But answer me this. If anyone who is not taking a vaccine silly or away with the fairies, why are there roughly 90000 people in the NHS risking their jobs by currently being unvaccinated?

  21. I would separate science and medicine out from each other personally. But I definitely get your point πŸ‘ general advances in technology of all sorts are allowing us to live longer, definitely. I think those who have strong feelings either way always come out in these discussions (Brexit!!!), so I don't think these last few pages are representative of a forum ratio. Only child (oh and I am well away with the faries too). Don't like being told what to do πŸ™ƒ certainly not by some buffoon who walked into Eaton with a silver spoon hanging out of his gob, goes by a phoney name and can't even stick to his own rules. I actually reconsider my position on this every few days, and am constantly trying to glean as much info as I can from various places. I am still of the opinion that none of the Covid assistance meds are suitable for someone in my position, all things considered (he says with a banging head, runny nose, sore throat, stiff neck and shoulders, sneezing and coughing! Sounds like Omicron, but these are the exact symptoms of flu, and my Covid test came back negative. Weird huh...).

  22. For me, off the top of my head: easier access to better quality and more diverse food, better housing, shorter and less arduous working hours, safer working conditions, longer time spent in educational settings, more disposable income, fewer wars, reduced childbirthing mortality rates (agreed this could be put down to medical advances, but also perhaps general scientific understanding). I also think length of life and quality of life are distinctly different things. Plus, is longer life necessarily a good thing, given our current population (and climate) pressures. Without overpopulation, a virus like this wouldn't spread anywhere near as quickly... messing with nature never seems to end well.

  24. Really? Have you seen the number of people that have recovered from it compared to those that have died? When they first released the vaccines, and told us all they had removed all accountability from the manufacturers πŸ™„,in my age group of people with no underlying health issues the death rate was one person in 35k people. The odds of me dying in a traffic accident are way higher! If the vaccine stopped you passing it on to other people I could understand them pushing it so much for everyone to get vaccinated, but it doesn't. For the first two weeks after the vaccine is at it's best they say transmission is reduced, but after two weeks that plummets.

  26. Hi Jeff. Yes apologies I was referring to "patients being admitted for emergency care". I've seen the document you are referring to. And it even has a footnote to say that the stats against the unvaccinated are not easy to determine due to the hugely larger proportion of those vaccinated. There doesn't seem to be a specific chart for ITU. Safe? Yes. But not 100% safe so not possible to say there's no doubt. Only a lot of time will determine that. A lot of people are having adverse reactions that don't seem to get the coverage it deserves. I'm no health care professional and don't claim to know it all. However I find it a complete disgrace how the government and media are cherry picking the actual "facts" that they are putting out there. There are people out there who are genuinely **** scared of covid, despite being triple jabbed and fit and healthy. For instance the first week of omicron it was "it evades the vaccine" a week later it was "get another jab" laughable really if it wasn't so sad.
