  9. Personally I think all it needs to complete the modern day F1 circus is for each venue to have a "joker lap" with a tilting bridge at each track . That should even things up

  10. Well a cracking day out today, yes a bit “fresh” had to wear a jacket and wooly hat!! Lol, but the roof was unzipped all day!!! Just under 200 miles of fun , the roads were a tad wet n skity this morning, headed off over the Cabrach fuelled up at Lumsden then took a heap of lovely single track hill roads with some stunning views, to Aboyne , then picked up the pace a little along Strathdon to Braemar, Glenshee then on down to the tearoom at Nith . Here a log burner a cracking bowl of broth and a slab of cake, warmed me up. So back up and over Glenshee through Braemar and refuelled at a wee country roadside pump as the petrol station in Braemar is shut at weekends ( but meant to be getting a pay at the pump soon) Then it was up and over the Glenshiel road and to Corgarf then a hood blast up and over the lecht before home up Glen Rinnes . Poor Tommy was absolutely minging so now all washed down and put away and I’ve a hot coffee Sorry for the picture fest but it was a great day out

  13. Measures at 82.3mm OD Should be close enough, but the hub is the key of course. Assuming the design was right, that should be to spec.

  18. Devils advocate here but MB MUST pursue their complaint. They may fail BUT it may also lead to changes as part of whatever settlement is reached. I firmly do not beleive that LH or MB would want to win the championship this way but I do believe they have a vested interest in removing ambiguity in the rules which might well take a legal challenge. When watching the Dubai GP and the fiasco of the red flag and place swapping "strategically", to me they are easy to clear up. 1. If a session or race is red flagged, cars are in park ferme and cannot be worked on, period. If a team cries "safety critical" then they get a time penalty equal to the accepted pit stop time taken under normal green flag conditions 'cos without the red flag they'd be in anyway. 2. If a driver is told to give a place back for whatever reason, it happens at the entry to turn 1 and the driver giving the place back may not attack until turn 3. Easy...

  19. With hindsight what 'should' have happened. Immediately Latifi crashed a red flag should have been shown. All cars should have lined up in the pit lane in race order at the time. Team should then have been allowed to change to tyres of their choice. The race should have been restarted for a 5 lap showdown. I know who would have won! What happened yesterday made F1 a laughing stock in international sport.

  20. My take on this. Max on the soft tyre's should have blasted away off the line and led at least the first 10 laps, but he didn't. At turn 5 (?) Lewis was taking a normal racing line and Max left his braking so late and stuck his nose up the inside that Lewis had to go off track to avoid a collision and kept his position, did he give enough back? maybe, maybe not. Then Lewis put in fastest lap after fastest lap and pulled away from Max, even though Max had faster tyre's. Then Perez got involved and helped Max close within 2 seconds of Lewis, but again Lewis pulled away, the race was in Lewis's bag and there was nothing Max or Red Bull could do about. Lewis was going to be champion. Then Latifi and the stewards got involved................. What a ridiculous finish to a multi million pound high tech sport
