Thanks everyone for letting me know if you are coming or not, I wondered if there was much interest for this rather strange event and your comments encourage me 👍 It is a little unfortunate that such an exciting F1 is on at the same time, but life is for the living and telly will get watched later, avidly. Ooo, here's to a great Santa Run with lots of daft laughs and let's hope all the kids enjoy it as much as we do🤩5 points

I've got a Minno Max in Oswestry you are welcome to borrow. I work in Shrewsbury so could probably work out to meet in Shrewsbury somewhere save you coming to Oswestry to collect👍 I'll have a look at my shifts and let you know2 points

There's strings in this. And lots more. One of my favourite ever songs. This version was recorded last year during lockdown and is a distanced version. RIP John Miles.2 points

I saw him play in that touring Night of the Proms show. Twice at Rotterdam Ahoy; lastly 2011 I think. I was on corporate entertainment duties. He was musical director of the show so was on stage most if not all the time. One was headlined by Seal, the other by Roger Daltrey. Great shows1 point

he could, one of the youtube suggestions was an hour long concert he did a few years ago, it was full of covers - queen, def leppard, huey lewis and the news to name a few, there wasn't a duff track among them, sad loss indeed. eta took a while to find it again but this is the one i watched earier on.1 point

Thanks Richard. I only discovered this version after he died sadly. Even at 71 years old, he could still belt it out!1 point

I won't be able to attend as an important event on TV at 1pm is forcing me to stay at home with a couple of beers 🏎️ Good news is the move isn't happening until early Jan so will be able to make it out on the next one.1 point

There's no risk to running the compatibility checker, it's just produces a list having scanned your PC. You can continue to use WIn 10 after you've ran it.1 point

The laptop I installed it on is 2 years older than yours! That was the point. There is a way to avoid pretty much ALL of the compatibility barriers and install it. And it's FREE for the moment. That may change.1 point

MS supporting Intel/AMD so they sell more chips. Just what we need during a silicon shortage... Win 10 support stops in 2025 if memory serves so plenty of time yet. Benefits... well on the 10 year old laptop I used, Win 11 seems a little more responsive but that is entirely subjective on my part. And Teams replaces Skype, which will cease to exist in a little while.1 point

@HB46443dont forget your Xmas pudding 😉 ( some of us are still trying to get over it 😱) have a great day all , enjoy yourselves .1 point

The danger is eventually they stop providing updates etc. They cheekily installed 92MB of MS Teams that wasn't in my Win 10 build! It's just come off. See- https://time.com/6107013/microsoft-windows-11-features/ for differences etc.1 point

It's worked for me too, thanks. My less than 2 year old (self build) PC wasn't compatible due to lack of TPM chip. Slightly scary when I wasn't connected to the net due to driver issues with my network adapter (LAN), built into my ASUS MB. Strange how the win 11 compatibility checker didn't identify it! Managed to download a driver package from Intel (though only badged as Win 10) on my work laptop, that's got me online again!1 point

I’ve never been a fan of the sport when one team is dominant, neither am I particularly a fan of Lewis, but I do think Max has gone beyond the acceptable far too often, and not just recently. His stated philosophy is ‘send it and hope’ (I paraphrase), but he is on record saying that if contact happens then it happens and he won’t back off to prevent it. The quote: "Like [with] overtaking," Verstappen said. "If I have to touch, I'll touch. It's not like it always needs to be in the cleanest way. Let's say it like this - after my career, if I would have won five championships but I'm maybe not the most liked person, for me that doesn't matter, because at the end of the day, it's all about winning. "And that maybe sounds arrogant, but I don't want to sound like that. I would do anything - or everything - to win. If it's a little bit, not dirty, but in a hard way, I will do it. I am not here to be the most-liked person."1 point

@CosKev that would be brilliant if we can come to an arrangement, thanks.1 point

Yeah, I had to use a similar size to move my Westfield when I moved house. Best avoided to be honest, a devil to manoeuvre in the road, to back up and turn round. But more annoyingly, the wheel track of the Westfield was narrower, slightly, than the wheel ramp width, made it quite precarious loading and unloading, with no room for error, and the car did the 15 minute travel between houses with one side of the cars wheels, more or less resting on the inner retaining edge of the trailers platform.1 point

Thanks for the heads up David, I hadn't seen that this was happening. As regards a shunt on the first lap, both drivers will have had (or will have) serious words from the powers that be as to how penalties might be awarded/deducted for dangerous actions..............But will that make any difference?😄🤣1 point

Yup, I'll be watching. Hope it isn't decided on a first corner "incident" or any other shennanigans.. unlikely? 😞1 point
