We all met at Hulme End for breakfast and a warm up. We almost had the car park to ourselves, I love it out of season. Nigel surprised us by coming out of the blue, which was lovely, and Rob (S2000) bought all of his South Derbyshire recruits which interestingly included James in a MEV that was a Focus(rear) and a Mondeo (front) in a former life and Ben in a bike engined MNR. Glynn in his supercharged S2000 Westfield, Martin in his Duratec engined Westfield, Ian in Bagpuss (S2000), AndrewABC (V8) and a SORN Billy in the Porsche. Ready for the off, give us a smile Our route went right up the middle of the Peak District with the sun and shadows bouncing off the hills and the autumn colours adding to our pleasure. We had dry roads, empty roads and lots of fun, the line of cars in my mirror as far as I could see, not bad for a cold November day so well done everyone. Here we are at our destination, Quackers, don't you just love it as they always have plenty of parking and room in the cafe, it will become a regular feature now that the Bull i Thorn has closed until next March. Midday sun is great until you want a photograph. 9 cars plus Billy in the Porsche The inevitable cake frenzy. Ian was forgiven for bringing his hairy legs as he so kindly gives everyone good advice on their cars. The sort of advice you can trust as it is not coming from a company who is selling a product and hopefully he has solved our mysterious disappearing clutch fluid problem, thanks Ian. We all dispersed although ABC and us again failed to pass Adam's Happy Hen's without calling in for one last drink Undercover seating, oh the luxury, we weren't expecting that Thanks for a great day out everyone. It is rememberance Sunday next weekend so I will be choosing my route very carefully and researching where the parades are, plus Chatsworth have their Christmas market going on. We cannot make the Saturday so finger's crossed for a dry Sunday and hope to see you then.8 points

A great turnout today considering it was so cold (I certainly needed the heated coat!). A big thanks to @Julie Hall - Joint Peak District AO for organising a great route through some stunning scenery! Brilliant to see you all, it's been ages since I was on a proper Peaky run out, just what I needed 👍4 points

Good morning all. My name is Ben, I'm completely new to the forum and to the ownership of a westfield although I've been patiently waiting for a while for the right toy to pop up. Well here she is! I've got a couple of little jobs to do before MOT time, then a few things I'd like to do like new bucket seats and I'd really like a full cage. Looking forward to playing 👍1 point

We had our monthly local-area meeting last night; 7pm in a local pub.... nothing unusual, I thought. Except that I was the only one to turn up in a Westfield, which led me to suggest that we should re-name our branch the 'Comfortable Saloon Car Club' in recognition of the 80% of local members who prefer a roof and stereo. However, when I got home at 10.30pm, freezing cold and driving this mud-smuggler, I thought that they might have a point:1 point

just as gary said, we all had to learn what to do over time. i think the most applicable thing to say is , do not think that any question is stupid, too basic etc. there are only stupid answers, never stupid questions. me for instance, started on push bikes as a kid, moving on to motorbikes, then eventually cars, taking all to bits and on many occasion having to get the bus to work because i could not get the repair to work. just have a go, and ask questions......1 point
