  2. Hey guys, keep cool. The difference between Austria and Australia are 2 tiny letters and it happens a lot that people mix it up. 🙂 I'm fine with it even if I've never heard the phrase "let’s put another shrimp on the barbie". 😄 Here's my beauty:

  3. Thanks for your messages. my others classics are mgb, midget, triumph gt6 mk2 and jag 3.4 mk2 I spend more time to work on them than driving them ☺️

  4. Don’t worry - @Rush Motorsport and myself have a long history of “taking the p” or joking with each other. It’s just friendly banter. He was referring to a scene from the film “dumb and dumber” so please don’t take offence 😁👍

  5. So which of you is "dumb" and which one is "dumber"? Inquiring minds want to know. 😛

  9. Dear Mr Chairman @John Dolan - Chairman sir… They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but that bit in paragraph 4 of Chairman’s Chat about events and prices from 1986, which you “lifted” (plagiarism is such an ugly word - and hard to spell when you’ve been drinking) from my opening intro in the 30th anniversary special magazine, did not go unnoticed. I may be old, fat, and losing my remaining marbles, but my eyesight is still hawk-like and I spotted it. You, sir, are busted and you owe me a pint at Stoneleigh in May next year. Bring your wallet. Yours, Captain Old Fat Hawk (Mrs)

  10. Awards Dinner 2021 – Open to all WSCC members 27th November at Lea Marston Hotel I hope you are all well and almost back to normal life after the restrictions that Covid has imposed upon our lives. Despite the problems we have manged to have quite a good season and attendance at our events. Many, if not most of us are vaccinated and I would like to move ahead with arranging the Awards Dinner on 27th Nov as there seems to be quite a bit of support for that date. If we postponed the do until Feb or March next year the Covid situation may well be worse. I would like to know if you and partners would attend the dinner at the usual venue ( Lea Marston Hotel). Dinner price will be held at £35 per person (3 courses and wine on the table) and I have negotiated the online B&B price down from £169 to £99 (2 people) and £89 (1 person). To book a room please email sam.coles@leamarstonhotel.co.uk. and give her your phone number and she will call back within 48 hrs and book it for you Clearly we require a reasonable attendance for the event to be viable and I hope that we will have a charity fund raising event again. Please book tickets via the STORE terry.everall@gmail.com

  12. Without wanting to sound like a cliche, i never thought i would be writing this. I have owned this car for 17 years, and very much enjoyed everything about it, including this club! But, i find myself using it less and less. I have always fancied a V8 and miss our Defender, so have decided to buy or build a V8 Land Rover. This means the Westfield has to go, as apparently, i cannot have 2 toys! Current mileage is 20,870. It usually does about 800 dry miles a year. It lives in a carpeted garage and comes with two enormous history files and all previous mot certificates in my ownership. Engine/Gearbox 125 BHP Crossflow Twin 40s K&N filters Motad repackable silencer 4 into 1 Westfield manifold Power Vamp lightweight battery Valvoline 20w50 changed every spring Water pump and all coolant hoses replaced last summer Type 9 5 speed box. Brakes, wheels and tyres 4 pot calipers with drilled discs RS 2000 rear drums, always been fine as car is so light. Minilight style wheels with Yoke 185/60 x 13 tyres Suspension Protech adjustable shocks all round. Sorry, cannot remember the spring rates, they are whatever Protech Recommend. Corner weighted for a 75KG driver at Track Developments Body Very good considering it is nearly 30 years old! Some minor crazing around the wing mounts. There is a scratch on the offside wing. Nobody knows how it got there!!! When i bought it, i did not like the swept wings. So i bought a set of Tiger cycle wing brackets, light mounts and cycle wings. But i grew to like the traditional look, so have never fitted them. They will come with the car if the new owner would like them. I recommend keeping the traditional look, as they are few and far between now. Tillet style seats, which are surprisingly comfortable. I love the aeroscreen. There is much less buffeting than with a screen. However, if the new owner prefers a screen, the car will come with screen, fillet, wipers and doors. I also have the original alloy dash and carpets. Also welcome to have the fleece indoor fitted car cover. So there you have it. A good honest, genuine Westfield, which has spent its last 17 years being pampered by me. Mot'd a couple of weeks ago. Bad points? Well, the tyres, although having loads of tread, could do with being replaced due to age. They do not seem to be hard, but are a few years old now. I am asking £6,250 and will be genuinely sad to see it go. I have lots of spares/bits and pieces collected over the years that will come with the car if wanted. Also spare wheel and carrier. Cheers, James.

  13. Hi Julie I’ve been offered a polo radiator already thank you. An 11 inch fan is what we are after, that way we can fit that size in a standard or V8 nose cone. Mrs P is very poorly but Ali and Beth walked away which is the main thing. Well I say walked away, Beth via ambulance and she is still home in bed with broken ribs. I hope your both keeping well Gail x

  16. Hi Westies, my name is Peter, I'm 46 years young, living in western Austria (near lake constance) and proud owner of a Westfield 7 SE. Unfortunately the live axis of my beauty tried to pass me on my last ride end of august... hm... okay, it didn't just "try"... there was a traffic sign (with accent on "was")... therefor silencer and frame have a lightly different design now (but the traffic sign also! :D). My first thoughts were like "oh no %!$§/!§$" (you can feel me? ^^) but because I'm a lucky boy the damages are not that bad and seem to be repairable without to much efforts. Now I will search the forum for the right chapters to place my questions. Maybe I will find the answers for my questions before, than I won't create a new topic. I hope you'll welcome me and I hope you are familiar with "stupid newbie questions". 🙂

  21. Yeah, we have some really great roads for biker and 7-cars. 😉 I was infected by the 7-virus 3 years ago when a good friend invited me for a ride with his Caterham. I could not get the smile out of my face for days and after 3 years of daily begging at my wife she spent me the Westie on my last birthday. I hope for good news regarding the costs for the repair and to find info about where to find the needed spare parts but therefor I have created topics in the tech area. 😉

  29. Take a look at the Merlin Motorsport page as that gives guidance on the direction of slow. The oil should go in via the outside and back through the middle of the filter.

  30. Hard to say without seeing it, but usually remote filter housings do have a flow direction. That may or may not have contributed to the filter coming loose, but I would lockwire it from now on!
