  2. Thanks Chris, such sad news; but what an amazing legacy you’ve given us. The friends that have been made thanks to you passion and vision for the cars you created, and the places that we’ve been, and experiences we’ve enjoyed as a result will long continue.

  5. Thanks for the nice comments guys. Its been a strange year and there has been some great close competition all year. Some incredible times have been posted and the series has some of the quickest drivers around. Hope to see some of you at the final rounds in Anglesey this coming weekend

  6. not very exciting, but it is current state and progress being made. 123ignition fitted, now waiting for the AFR lol when the fuel needy stop going to the petrol stations in a panic i will top her up and test the new ignition, all i know so far is; it starts and revs and sounds smoother somehow.

  8. I have only owned my Westfieldfor a handful of weeks and I thought it was time to share some photos of my pride and joy. It is an SE FW on a 21 plate powered by a Blacktop Zetec 2.0l engine and fuelled by an Omex 600 ECU and Omex throttlebodies. 8" wheels at the back help get the power down nad 7" ones up front keep it looking trim and nimble. I don't have the available time to have built it myself (much as I would have liked to) so I acquired it from Toybox - hats off to Andy and Dale for help, advice and service. I do plan to maintain/ service it and upgrade/ adjust/ fettle it myself although the only work I've done on it so far is replacing a couple of fuses and pop-riveting the presstud bases for the door straps! Having joined WSCC the next step is to get involved with the North Staffs and East Cheshire WSCC group as we live a few miles outside Nantwich in the fields of the Cheshire Plain. If anyone from my neck of the woods happens across this topic, please do say hello!

  12. @Chris Smith My two boys Tom, Leo and my Dad spent the whole of last year building the Westfield that now takes pride of place in the workshop and without your initial vision and legacy we might never have done so. The boys now have a greater depth of mechanics and my Dad and I are closer than ever. Thank you

  15. I was there with some mates, 4 of us plus 2 tents and all our gear in a mini. I remember a German registered Moke pulling into the disco in the museum with a louder sound system than the DJ. We were part of the mini carrying event, carrying a bodyshell around a course. I have a VHS of the weekend somewhere.

  16. Yep.. at the 25th anniversary of the mini! Car was on the mini cooper club stand and then in the Happy Birthday made by parking the minis for aerial photo.. Car was the business engine bored out to 1310cc, twin inch and a half SUs ported head and I think around 110bhp! Also had special 13" wheels made by revolution to take the Pirrelli P7 tyres!

  25. Catching up on the last couple of weeks work. the extra stainless steel arrived so I was able to make the last of the fuel tank straps. I've also got most of the pedal box in and the brake lines plumbed in but I’m just waiting for a bias valve to fit the the rear circuit. the two missing gauges have now also been fitted to the new dash.
