  4. I have only owned my Westfieldfor a handful of weeks and I thought it was time to share some photos of my pride and joy. It is an SE FW on a 21 plate powered by a Blacktop Zetec 2.0l engine and fuelled by an Omex 600 ECU and Omex throttlebodies. 8" wheels at the back help get the power down nad 7" ones up front keep it looking trim and nimble. I don't have the available time to have built it myself (much as I would have liked to) so I acquired it from Toybox - hats off to Andy and Dale for help, advice and service. I do plan to maintain/ service it and upgrade/ adjust/ fettle it myself although the only work I've done on it so far is replacing a couple of fuses and pop-riveting the presstud bases for the door straps! Having joined WSCC the next step is to get involved with the North Staffs and East Cheshire WSCC group as we live a few miles outside Nantwich in the fields of the Cheshire Plain. If anyone from my neck of the woods happens across this topic, please do say hello!

  5. Ok boys and girls Julie has organised this event, I have my name down to go, so who wants to join me? If you are interested let me know and we can sort out a time and place to meet up for the run down To All AO's, I am arranging a visit to The Great British Car Journey museum in Derbyshire on Sunday 24th October for the Peak District area members. If your area members would like to join us please do, we are meeting at 10am for a 10.30am visit. Details of the museum can be found here https://www.greatbritishcarjourney.com/ The normal entrance fee is £15 each but as we will be a group of >20 we have a reduced fee of £10 on that day, of which you can take advantage of. I have used also my annual area funds from WSCC to further help pay for my member's admission fee, perhaps you may consider doing the same. I have arranged the visit with Jane Usher at the museum, who can be contacted directly on 07967370877. I am tagging @Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO and @Garry Bunn - Derby & Notts AO as my neighbouring AO's and @Paul Gibney - Lancashire AO and @Nick Clarke - Joint Wirral & North Wales AO as you have expressed an interest in events in the past. @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary and @Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO are already aware of this event. At this time of the year and with the potential long journey's I have explained that not everyone will come in their Westfield. Please spread the word and hopefully we can get a good club gathering together. Thanks for your time Julie x

  9. Hi all, I know it is a bit of a long shot but I'll be in Macclesfield around the second weekend of December, and I thought about taking this opportunity to meet some of the WSCC members, so I can associate faces to forum nicknames and maybe have a blast in some fast westies 😄 I'll be flying over from Italy, so I'll be car-less. Thanks 👋

  10. I'm about 45 mins (20 miles) south of Macclesfield in Stoke-on-Trent. I'm often into the Peaks chasing cake with @Julie Hall - Joint Peak District AO and others. Let's see if we can find away to take you with us. Please get back in touch closer to. We may have our Cheshire Christmas Curry around that time too ( @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary I hope one's likely this year!), so that would be a great opportunity to meet us all too! Best regards, Ian

  11. Thanks Rob👍 Hi CherryTree, Welcome to the club, that's a lovely looking car with an excellent set up, Zetec's are the best! I like the driveway, it sets the car off beautifully. We meet most weekends, mostly on a Sunday at 10am, mostly around the Bakewell/Matlock area and do a different route every time, ending up at mostly different places. Please come and join us all, we operate throughout the winter, not in the wet so much but certainly on cold, bright days. Hope to see you and your car soon, Julie

  19. My first track experience was a success. I had no car issues and even more surprisingly...... No driver issues either. Big Thanks to@Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO for organising the event and letting a newbie like me attend. Also thanks to @NigelO for the pictures (the first lineup picture is my dodgy work)

  20. ABC and ourselves arrived at a drizzly looking Hulme End Tea Junction cafe Martin and Nigel soon arrived Just in case there might be a sugar shortage in the future Glen and I decided to panic buy the cakes. The others ate a more normal breakfast sandwich but we are now used to eating cake for breakfast. We took our route along the b roads, found plenty of cow poo and went past the pretty Magpie Mine, which I can confirm is a lead mine, you wouldn't think an old lead mine would look nice would you? We briefly called in at Quackers to check the phone, on into Bakewell, huff it was busy which is why we don't go through there, but there was petrol at the pumps. I briefly lost Martin, who had a wire come loose on his fan, it was a good job Andrew spotted him. Next we drove through the Chatsworth Estate with views over the house and fountain, then up the Curbar Gap where we were glad to see that they have put double yellow lines along the road making it much safer to drive. Next we drove past the traffic queue from hell, there must have been a road closed somewhere as this is normally an empty country road and it had a queue a mile long. Thankfully we were going in the opposite direction and beautifully landed at the Bistro at Dunston Hall Garden Centre for lunch on time. Sorry, I forgot to take a photo of us in the Bistro. Andrew had a minor problem with his steering wheel and conveniently has to remove his bonnet to access the tool roll, a great V8 photo opportunity for me. They managed to tie wrap the wheel back on😱 In the meantime Nigel had us in stitches with with his stories of wet bums in Westfield seats, get that drill out! Thanks for a great day out guys, we have had easier days, less panicky days, but nobody ran out of fuel and the weather came good in the end, see you next time. P.S I have found out that the road was closed at the Golden Gates roundabout to the Robin Hood pub due to an accident. That is the main A road into the Peak District, so all that traffic was shoved onto the b road, so glad we were coming out of the Peak District.
