Paul, l like the idea of a Sunday breakfast meet with a run afterwards, I’ve been on two of the Yorkshire rabbles brekkie meets and they are very well attended ,need to find a good venue or maybe a choice of venue around the area but the important thing are good roads around the chosen venue. I could start the ball rolling if you like with breakfast close to where I live (Bacup)and a run around the Ribble Valley ? Then maybe someone else could organise the next one close to their home and so on. We definitely need to waken up and use our cars more !! Anyone with anymore ideas post here if you like.4 points

From what I have heard, you need to be really really brave if you are to show your face. Practice your ducking 😄 as revenge is best served 🥶 cold.3 points

For those of us past a certain age, this is like watching Cyril Fletcher on "Thats Life" . He would get sent these type of headlines from local papers all over the world to read out on the show. He would also get sent vegetables that either looked like a famous person, genitals or some such.3 points

26 views and not one reply! What is going on in the Manchester area It seems we now have joint AOs, well where the F... are they? Even if they no longer have a Westfield or have something else on, they should still be promoting the monthly meetings and encouraging the membership to sort themselves out I proposed a return to our regular meetings on here and in the NWKCOG, I got a few reply's and last night 2 Westfields and 2 Tigers had a great run out in the fading sunlight. So come on, we can do Saturday or Sunday breakfast runs if members find Wednesday evenings are a no go, we can join Julies fantastic Peak District runs, It's not a mega distance away, parts of the Peak District are in Greater Manchester (just in case your geography is not very good) Yes folks this is a RANT and I am angry and believe me you wont like me if I get angry (yeah I know some you may not like me anyway, but whos gives a flying you know what) THE MANCHESTER AREA WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TOJUST FADE AWAY WHILE I AM A MEMBER OF THIS CLUB.2 points

Without wanting to sound like a cliche, i never thought i would be writing this. I have owned this car for 17 years, and very much enjoyed everything about it, including this club! But, i find myself using it less and less. I have always fancied a V8 and miss our Defender, so have decided to buy or build a V8 Land Rover. This means the Westfield has to go, as apparently, i cannot have 2 toys! Current mileage is 20,870. It usually does about 800 dry miles a year. It lives in a carpeted garage and comes with two enormous history files and all previous mot certificates in my ownership. Engine/Gearbox 125 BHP Crossflow Twin 40s K&N filters Motad repackable silencer 4 into 1 Westfield manifold Power Vamp lightweight battery Valvoline 20w50 changed every spring Water pump and all coolant hoses replaced last summer Type 9 5 speed box. Brakes, wheels and tyres 4 pot calipers with drilled discs RS 2000 rear drums, always been fine as car is so light. Minilight style wheels with Yoke 185/60 x 13 tyres Suspension Protech adjustable shocks all round. Sorry, cannot remember the spring rates, they are whatever Protech Recommend. Corner weighted for a 75KG driver at Track Developments Body Very good considering it is nearly 30 years old! Some minor crazing around the wing mounts. There is a scratch on the offside wing. Nobody knows how it got there!!! When i bought it, i did not like the swept wings. So i bought a set of Tiger cycle wing brackets, light mounts and cycle wings. But i grew to like the traditional look, so have never fitted them. They will come with the car if the new owner would like them. I recommend keeping the traditional look, as they are few and far between now. Tillet style seats, which are surprisingly comfortable. I love the aeroscreen. There is much less buffeting than with a screen. However, if the new owner prefers a screen, the car will come with screen, fillet, wipers and doors. I also have the original alloy dash and carpets. Also welcome to have the fleece indoor fitted car cover. So there you have it. A good honest, genuine Westfield, which has spent its last 17 years being pampered by me. Mot'd a couple of weeks ago. Bad points? Well, the tyres, although having loads of tread, could do with being replaced due to age. They do not seem to be hard, but are a few years old now. I am asking £6,250 and will be genuinely sad to see it go. I have lots of spares/bits and pieces collected over the years that will come with the car if wanted. Also spare wheel and carrier. Cheers, James.1 point

As someone who had a pilot’s licence (albeit a microlight one) and also as someone who has had personal experience of just how easily it can all go horribly wrong - this is SERIOUSLY impressive.1 point

Hi All, I just wanted to explain the reason why I have been absent from the forum for a little while. Back at the beginning of the month, my daughter of 3 years old started to act strange and telling us she felt a bit wrong. Thinking it was a cold (as she had a slight temp) we treated it with Calpol and it seemed to help. As the month progressed her temp went back to normal but she was getting irritable, sleepy and very lethargic, spoke to the doctor to which they just said keep an eye on it as it could just be a growth spurt etc.. A few days later before her bed time she asked to go to bed, something that concerned me greatly. I was up until the early hours with my wife stating that something was not right with that and insisted that we take her to the doctors in the morning. When waking her the next day (she normally is up at 6am) she was awake but pretty much unresponsive, not talking or anything. Taking her to the doctor and doing some tests showed that her Glucose levels were really high and her keytones were really high as well. She was suffering from Ketoneacidocis. We were told to take her to ER right away. My wife took her to the hospital it was confirmed she has Type 1 Diabetes which is an Autoimmune disorder which isn't related to diet or exercise but is caused by something as simple as a Cold of flu virus, the doctors still don't know what causes the body to do this but it does happen. So this was a massive shock to us and she had to stay in hospital for 5 days while doctors got her blood back into a less toxic state and the glucose under control to some extent, we also had to learn how to treat our daughter moving forward. She needs 4 injections a day and all her food needs to be calculated before she can eat etc.. After 5 days my wife and my little girl came back home from hospital and we started to get to grips with the new adjustments.. However on top of all this my wife at this point was due to give birth to our second daughter in the next couple of weeks, this obviously put the pressure on to make sure we were confident with treating our daughter in time before the baby was due to arrive.. Fast forward a few days to a Saturday, we felt confident enough to take our daughter swimming as we want to make sure she does not feel that anything is a miss in normal life.. however my wife was complaining of irregular short sharp pains during the day. That evening they started to get worse, so my wife called the hospital for advice, they said it was nothing to worry about and to just keep an eye on it.. We went to bed and that's when the pain kicked in, yes my wife was in labor, as we have no one at home to look after our 3 year old and due to covid only allowing 1 person in with the mother, I had to stay at home while my wife went in on her own. She ended up spending the night there and the labor seemed to be long like the last one. I managed to get some friends around early in the morning to babysit our daughter so I could go and see my wife and hopefully the birth of our baby girl in between giving her, her injections. Luckily when I arrived she was being prepped for a C section as there was no progress, so I arrived got into scrubs and right into the operating room where my wife was, the operation was taking a little while and time was approaching to administer our daughters next injection.. luckily our 2nd daughter was born with just 5 mins to spare and I got to hold her, I then had to rush off and tend to our other daughter.. As my wife had a c section she is not allowed to do pretty much anything for 2 weeks and not able to do any lifting, driving or work for 6 weeks. In the first few days our 2nd daughter started to lose too much weight, So back to the hospitals to work out why our 2nd daughter isn't gaining weight and after an anxious wait (thinking it could be the same issue), the blood tests all came back fine and all it was down to the fact my wife was so stressed with what was going on it was effecting her supply. So this is where I have been, looking after my girls. Needless to say its been one of the worst and best months of my life, heartwrenching but also joyful... its a odd one to feel... The good news is, that we are getting there with our daughters blood glucose levels, our new little one is now putting on weight and my wife is back on her feet, So I should be able to update you all with new offers etc .. I just wanted to share this with you all just to explain my absence1 point

I have written mag reports and promoted monthly meetings while in Thailand when I was AO, the clue is in the title Area Organiser you just have to organise things even if your personal circumstances dictate that you can’t be there.🤔1 point

And for an occasional “highlight” the vegetables would look like the genitals of a famous person; Bill Clinton was a popular candidate for some reason…1 point
