  1. Getting ready for Oulton Park tomorrow. I managed to get the old chassis of the scrap pile to get a photo side by side.

  2. Quite pleased that nobody noticed in the drone group shot that the two tin-tops that had inconsiderately parked in the area reserved for Westfields had disappeared..... Original shot....

  4. Some of the Yorkshire area went along to the Harrogate Enthusiasts Car show today at Rudding Park Rugby Club. We had 7 cars, and only just made it in after getting mixed up with Leeds Fest traffic on the A1. Good selection of cars, only spoilt by drizzle most of the morning. We took Steve with us.

  7. Enjoyed the Cup today. Even if I did manage to flood the engine when leaving, and take a couple of go's to start the car! (In front of a whole row of fellow Westfield owners) 🤣 🙄

  8. Well, Mr Grump feared for the worst and I was wrong!! So glad that it was such a success and impressed our newer members. After the first miss in ten years or more I'll be back next year. Well done to WSCC and the organising team in particular!

  9. I'm so sorry @NigelO and @Julie Hall - Joint Peak District AO that I wasn't there to assist the Peaky Rabble into parking better for you! I've parked the cars for you, electronically! I hope we can have another go at this Nigel, when we're both next out in the Peaks!

  10. Granted the number of exhibitors were fewer than usual, but we knew that would be the case and the exhibitor list had been publicised in the preceding weeks so we knew, for example, that Gardner Douglas wouldn't be there. But all told it was an enjoyable and relaxed day out for my wife and I on Saturday with good weather and the chance to talk over a number of things with exhibitors (esp. Coolex, Mike of @Kit Car Electronics, Digital Speedos...) and of course a natter with fellow club members. So thanks again to our club organisers. I didn't buy any goodies at the show but the chance to look at different Westies convinced my wife that we need a rear diffuser for the FW we are building, so WSC's 15 % online discount was taken full advantage of later that day! It was clear that many owners were desperate for a show after more than 2 years since the last one, and I think some of the club stands were much better attended than in previous years. Hopefully things will be busier next year with more attractions. One of which I haven't seen in recent years is the autotest guys doing demos in one of the sheds and it would be great of Grosvenor can bring them back into the fold.

  12. I didn't expect a good turnout this weekend with Stoneleigh being on so it was a wonderful surprise to get so many, especially when there was a sudden late exodus of Honda Boys. 12 Westfields met at The Bull I Thorn, Buxton for breakfast We headed off for a wiggle down the Crowdecote bends, up the sweeping bends of the Bentley Brook road, slotted in the Elton Esses to skirt round the presumably busy Bakewell and pop out at Quackers Cafe. Quackers where Barsnley men dressed in red over exaggerate the size of things😛 Quackers The inevitable happened Watch out Debs, there is a cake thief about! It is difficult to know where to go on a Bank Holiday Sunday and Quackers have never failed to serve us in a timely fashion and have seating available. There is always plenty of parking and we never feel like we have to rush off, plus it is in a lovely setting. Billy was not the only one wearing shorts but with only a t-shirt on too, these Cheshire lot are hard nuts. Andy Westwood got me hook, line and sinker with my extra 1 horsepower (I nearly had a skitty horse in the Westfield last Friday, Glen had told him the story and then Andy proceeded to wind me up) offering me your last Rolo from your cake will not make it up Andy😄 you are in danger! Nigel was proud to show off his car that now looks brand new, he has been busy working on it over the 'winter' and he also bought his drone which has taken the most amazing photo's, THANK YOU for that Nigel, you are a star! Last to leave were the Barnsley lot, it's expected really, at their age everything is done in slow motion😆. It still frightens me that I can understand every word they say and read John's lingo too, there is an advantage of being from Yorkshire. Good luck to everyone else. It has certainly been a laugh today, the roads have been quiet and bendy and it's been lovely to see you all from all directions, thankyou for coming XXX

  15. Er, Mr K, that is a wrong photo 😁, I have a Honda engined car in front of me and that doesn't happen in the Peak District😮 Please refer to thehighwaycodepeakdistrictstyle How about we have a 'Bonnet's Off' drone photo? @NigelO @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO. A more panned out one obvs, I was stood on my tip toes for this one, the things you do when you don't have a drone🙄

  18. Because I am a tight git and also finding places to do the wheel alignment was proving challenging I have had to resort to using string lines. Whilst they are lasers they can be quit accurate so long as you have a good plan. So with this in mind I produced a wheel alignment model in CAD that allows you to input some parameters from your car and will give you a quick way of measuring out. Dimensions.pdf

  19. Thanks to the organisers, I couldn't believe how many Westfields there were on Saturday. It was great to meet people who I only know off the forum. Seeing all the variations of car at bonnets off and especially to see @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary car in the flesh.

  21. Just got back from my first Stoneleigh show and wanted to say a huge thanks and well done to all involved in organising things. I wasn't sure I'd make it with complications at home, but so glad I did even if it was just for the one day. Great to meet you all 👍
