  2. Many thanks to the organisers for putting on a decent showing in a very short preparatory period. As Dave said the whole show was smaller than previous years but considering the last 18 months and all the issues, this show was like a new start. Hopefully a lot of the previous exhibitors will survive and we can get back to Stoneleigh in future years with even more gusto. Again in my case thanks to Ian, Gail and Marcus for arranging my passes so quickly and setting things up. I met up with many "old" friends and enjoyed the day. Well done all concerned. Bob

  3. I didn't expect a good turnout this weekend with Stoneleigh being on so it was a wonderful surprise to get so many, especially when there was a sudden late exodus of Honda Boys. 12 Westfields met at The Bull I Thorn, Buxton for breakfast We headed off for a wiggle down the Crowdecote bends, up the sweeping bends of the Bentley Brook road, slotted in the Elton Esses to skirt round the presumably busy Bakewell and pop out at Quackers Cafe. Quackers where Barsnley men dressed in red over exaggerate the size of things😛 Quackers The inevitable happened Watch out Debs, there is a cake thief about! It is difficult to know where to go on a Bank Holiday Sunday and Quackers have never failed to serve us in a timely fashion and have seating available. There is always plenty of parking and we never feel like we have to rush off, plus it is in a lovely setting. Billy was not the only one wearing shorts but with only a t-shirt on too, these Cheshire lot are hard nuts. Andy Westwood got me hook, line and sinker with my extra 1 horsepower (I nearly had a skitty horse in the Westfield last Friday, Glen had told him the story and then Andy proceeded to wind me up) offering me your last Rolo from your cake will not make it up Andy😄 you are in danger! Nigel was proud to show off his car that now looks brand new, he has been busy working on it over the 'winter' and he also bought his drone which has taken the most amazing photo's, THANK YOU for that Nigel, you are a star! Last to leave were the Barnsley lot, it's expected really, at their age everything is done in slow motion😆. It still frightens me that I can understand every word they say and read John's lingo too, there is an advantage of being from Yorkshire. Good luck to everyone else. It has certainly been a laugh today, the roads have been quiet and bendy and it's been lovely to see you all from all directions, thankyou for coming XXX

  5. Just got back from my first Stoneleigh show and wanted to say a huge thanks and well done to all involved in organising things. I wasn't sure I'd make it with complications at home, but so glad I did even if it was just for the one day. Great to meet you all 👍

  6. Thanks for another fantastic day around the Peaks. Great route and scenery. Though the tractor and trailer driving up the grass bank looked a bit precarious.

  37. For anyone considering a trip similar to this........ just do it. We’ve now done probably 10 long trips including Scotland (twice), France, Spain Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Austria (some a few times over) The first time around it’s a little daunting with cars like ours but the rewards are great. The cars create quite a stir and are great as “ice breakers” for starting conversations with the locals. Also and more importantly, the majority of the roads are superb. 😎😎👍
