  5. Jordan’s hand throttle mod was entertaining to follow! Fortunately the throttle cable let go after leaving the motorway! Big thanks to @Nic Chase (NICO) - Shropshire & Mid-Wales AO for a replacement throttle cable. Fitted at Stoneleigh. Worked a treat!

  6. That's a good point Dave, I took a old friend to Goodwood FOS as he has never been before, he thought it was great but for obvious reasons I could see it was a little thin on the ground regarding stands and exhibitors, but we still had a good day! I will do my best to get up there, I didn't realise we have friends popping around in the afternoon and then I went and booked myself out in the evening so completely shot myself in the foot!!!!

  7. Come for the social side of things and the camaraderie of your fellow Club members and have a fantastic day, like today. Come for the show, the exhibitors, the trade stands and lots of side events and be prepared to be somewhere between disappointed and bitterly disappointed. Had a fantastic day today on our stand, but elsewhere. Well, it was good to be there and show support and solidarity for the industry, but outside of the few big tent pole companies like Westfield Sports Cars and so on, it was very thin.

  11. Assuming we are allowed to hold it with rules at the time I wouldn’t be put off by covid. I would say better end of this year if possible rather than start of next.

  12. If you are going to Mathewsons then a new cafe with a motoring theme has just opened in Pickering. Pickering is only 2 miles from Mathewsons. The cafe, NY500 is on the pickering to Malton road.

  13. yeah its a tricky one - slowest car on the road navigating the bumps, and always worried as the sump is the lowest point. So far i've managed to not do any damage by keeping the centre of the car away from the highest point of the bump - and of course find routes out with minimum speed bumps! Definitely something you pay attention to more compared to a standard car!

  16. Thanks Barry for that, and sorry you had to go through the situation. My uncle also has no conception of why he is there, or at least the real reason ( because he is ill) he thinks we have put him there to siphon off his cash, which is quite frankly ridiculous. According to staff, his moods have been swinging to a violent side a bit now so things need to be done. Things have moved on a lot since I last posted, he got caught naked in a female residents bed one night, of course he had to be transferred to a more secure part of the care home , together with 24 hour care. This sadly will exceed the budget constraints of the family as this sort of care is on top of the rather large weekly bill for what is classed as 'normal' care. It's quite plainly harder on the families left having to deal with this, as he has no clue he is behaving like this. And yes, as cruel as this may sound, I do hope he 'goes' sooner than later, for everyone's sake. Dreadful thing to say I know, but until you have seen it and had close dealings you can't make judgements .
