  2. We had a fun morning, meeting up with @Andy Westwood and Ben at Ashby. Andy and I had to act as the "reverse gear" for Ben's MNR (good old bike engined cars! ๐Ÿ˜‚) before we had a quick run down the back roads. We had already planned to meet with @HB46443and @jumbojack to make five of us, so it was an added bonus when @Dale Hodgkins joined us, quickly followed by another 3 Westfields in convoy! We almost outnumbered the yank tanks! ๐Ÿ˜‚ It made for a great morning mooching around the various classics, muscle cars and restomods. See you all next time ๐Ÿ‘

  5. Hi, Regretting letting the Westfield go (even though it eventually did make its way back to it's spiritual home!!) and so looking to move the 911 on in order to get back into a Westy. I bought the Porsche on New Years eve and since having it it's been perfect. PIE Performance Porsche Specialists in Suffolk have been looking after it for me and I have a pretty comprehensive folder of previous history which includes a full engine rebuild at 60k miles by Porsche Cambridge. I have also spent a significant amount of cash this year on replacing the control arms, diff seals, some bushings where required and then fitting a brand new Quicksilver exhaust system which is awesome sounding!! (see link below for promo video the car was used for to publicise the Quicksilver system). All work documented and receipts etc. https://fb.watch/7yhU_tcsfL/ Aside from the mechanical work I have also fitted a Apple Carplay/Android Auto compatible JVC headunit with full handsfree and DAB aerial. I also had PIE expertly upgrade the Steering wheel, Gear knob/gater and handbrake with Alcantara with contrasting yellow stitching. The original Porsche headunit and DVD navigation drive are still with the car if wanted. The Cat C came from the passenger door being opened onto a cyclist passing on the inside which folded the door back onto the front wing. This was all repaired and taken care of by the previous owner who ran his own garage/commercial vehicle rental business. I have had PIE go through the car fully in order to ensure a clean bill of health. The second generation of the 996 has the larger 3.6L flat 6 and the variable valve timing giving it way more useability across the range of the engine. It really is a pretty effortless car to enjoy and has fulfilled the job for me of being a seriously fun car that I can also get the wife and kids in when needed! I've done a few longer motorway runs and achieved over 33mpg which is astonishing in something that goes and sounds like it does. As I've now updated my daily to a rear wheel drive 840i the Porsche is getting used less and I would love to get back in a Westy with a view to doing a lot more track time and getting involved in the Sprint series etc. It's on 81k miles but that will continue to increase while advertised. Major Service has just been completed (15/9/21) at PIE Peformance as well as Coil Packs replaced. MOT is due on Dec 31st and previous pass was with no advisories. Any questions let me know and will add more info as it comes to mind!! Looking for ยฃ15,500 which is reflective of the Cat C status however the car is straight and the biggest support I can give to that is a) the guys at PIE are first class and gave it a full bill of health and b) I've been driving my kids around in it for the last 8 months!! Obviously also very open to trades for a Westfield so please feel free to contact me with what you have!!

  6. Good evening My first post as a new member and owner. Based in Surbiton, Surrey. Iโ€™ve recently taken over the running of a 2004 SEiW as built by my father in Northern Ireland. Heโ€™s still going strong BTW, just has his eyes on another project, so I โ€œboughtโ€ it off him and we road-tripped it to Surbiton at the start of July. Before he let it go, he made a few mods to the original 2004 spec. She is running an 1800 silver-top Zetec on Jenvey throttle bodies now with longer air horns, courtesy of SBD Motorsport and a Westfield carbon 6โ€ de-cat silencer. When I got it over from NI, we had it mapped by Steve Greenald to 147 BHP. All this transformed the performance beyond recognition. I canโ€™t recommend Steve at SBD and Steve Greenald highly enough. Over the winter I plan a suspension upgrade from the stock Westfield parts it was built with - Iโ€™ve already been in touch with Dennis at Siltech and heโ€™s been a great help. Will also go down to 15โ€ or 13โ€ rims from the current 16โ€ I have. But for now, Iโ€™m just enjoying punting around the Surrey hills, getting to know the car and avoiding cyclists! So, a question. Where and when is the nearest meet to Surbiton? Would be good to meet up with a crowd soon! Cheers Philip Some shots of the car:

  10. Yes, according to their web site, tickets can be bought on the gate. Yes, we have parking for Club Members Westfields on the Club stand. HOWEVER, please be aware that if you're planning on camping, you will need to buy a ticket at the gate, and you will be camping in the general area. The WSCC camping area is by a special agreement with the shows organisers and is STRICTLY for the registered volunteers on the Club stand only. Stoneleigh are quite strict, (justifiably) about this, so any non-volunteer helper found camping here will be told to move, as soon as they're found. Regardless of time of day or current weather conditions! (People unfairly abusing this in the past have put the whole volunteer camping area in jeopardy for us)
