  1. Well some of us got there, just 6 days late! In our defence, it was raining last week 😂 We had a good turnout for a last minute meet (3 Westies, a MEV and an MNR) with a couple of the normal mishaps.... Unfortunately I didn't get a photo of Ben's MNR as he was upside down in the footwell fixing a smoking electrical problem! Luckily as things often fall off my car, I had the trusty WSCC tool wrap (thanks Glen and @Julie Hall - Joint Peak District AO).

  2. Here is my first drive of it when I took possession of it in 1999.I inherited the car from my dad when he passed away unexpectedly. It’s been a joy to own, drive and compete in.

  3. Posted many pages ago, someone took the car when going for the jab, so In the drive warming up. Civic Centre car park, managed to squeeze in between all these 'fat' cars. Bit lucky on my judgement for the front plate - was 10mm away PHEW. So that's two jabs done and dusted, awaiting to see if we have to do round 3 ?.

  5. I think most of the family thought I’d have wrapped around a tree within a few months. My dad’s friend put a throttle stop on it when I first got it to limit the performance a bit, I’d soon taken it off. It’s a great connection with my dad. My two children are very interested in the car too so the hope is they can share it when they are old enough.

  6. Here’s my SE. I’ve had it since I was 17, 23 years and I still love it.

  7. The glorious twelfth! Up on the moors behind our village and not a grouse in sight, but a lovely evening for a drive. Went over to Bakewell for a game of croquet with my dad and his friends, a cola at the Queen's and then a fantastic twilight drive over East Moor with a stop for photos on the way home.

  8. Can I just say Thank you to everyone who has posted on this thread. I never thought it would get to 100 videos, let alone 100 pages! Look out @SXRORY, we're catching up with your "Recent snap of your Westfield" thread, only another 27 odd pages to go... 😂 Thanks everyone!

  9. Great to see you you keeping it going. Mine started as a half-share with my dad 12 years ago, plenty of good father and son time tinkering with it over the years. He says his reactions aren't up to driving it now so he enjoys a passenger ride when the parents visit.

  10. Thanks Gary. Apart from my wedding pic, this is the only other one I have from around the same time as our wedding (2004ish). It was when I was in the workshop and our Director (a female) persuaded us to do a calendar for Macmillan Cancer Research, so whilst it's not a Birthday pic I was in my birthday suit🙈 I'm still amazed how my modelling career never took off!!!🤣

  14. It was a great idea and for one, I have discovered so many new bands / artists I would never have come across before had it not been for your thread, so yeah I reckon the the 'recent pics' thread page count is under threat 😂. Not thought about 43 yet, if you are struggling then I may do as well, we can skip any that don't exist though, so no biggie.

  16. LOL, that has to be from Thanks For All the Fish, I was replaying Hitchhikers in the garage last week, I couldn't get any work done🤣 too much ETA The quote sums up the UK nicely as well...

  19. Another idea right there , charity WSCC calendar, proceeds to clubs nominated charities 😀 You can submit that one Glen, although with my B'day being in Oct, gonna be a tad on the chilly side.

  23. Thanks for the ideas. Yeah it’s a tricky one as with my nose hinge on the front, when you open it, it wants to knock the plate off. So it’s a double reason for it… speed bumps and getting access to the engine

  24. I used small threaded anti vibration rubber mounts like this. Survived almost three years use so far.

  25. I do have music with 'shouting stuff' in it, but not the constant yelling like that. My favourite 'with some shouting' band is Kauan who imo use it very well!

  29. I'll give some of the others a chance to come up with something before I skip ahead... There might be the next "binge listen" on its way incorporating the number 43! 😂

  32. No. There’s no official front number plate mount, the way there is for the rear on some body versions. Its just what people have come up with themselves. Just be very careful with hinged mounts that they make more than just a token effort to not fold back at speed!

  34. Thanks Richard. The car looks similar to what it did 6 months ago, just with another added layer of dust it seems..... Rome wasn't built in a day and all that!! 🤪

  38. Great photo, looks like mine when I first got it, I changed the colour some years later. Sorry your dad passed, but at least you have still got a part of him in the car. I was due to compete in mine, but sadly HSBC had other thoughts on the idea 😂.

  39. As an aside then, my favourite Adams' quote: It comes from a very ancient democracy, you see..." "You mean, it comes from a world of lizards?" "No," said Ford, who by this time was a little more rational and coherent than he had been, having finally had the coffee forced down him, "nothing so simple. Nothing anything like so straightforward. On its world, the people are people. The leaders are lizards. The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people." "Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy." "I did," said Ford. "It is." "So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't people get rid of the lizards?" "It honestly doesn't occur to them," said Ford. "They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates to the government they want." "You mean they actually vote for the lizards?" "Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course." "But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?" "Because if they didn't vote for a lizard," said Ford, "the wrong lizard might get in. Got any gin?"
