  4. Indeed - in reality I’m (possibly) going to wait until next year when everyone realises they don’t actually want a camper. But I did get excited when the Missus kept insisting I just buy one 🤣

  5. My daughter brought me a pair or driving shoes for my birthday. For those that have never tried them, I’d recommend they do. The difference they make in pedal feel and selection is surprising. So much better!

  7. I've heard that consuming large amounts of beer helps to neutralise the nano bots. I haven't seen a great deal of research in to this becasue the illuminati wouldn't want to create the "solution" to their deep-state funded population experiment, but as self medication goes, I've done worse...

  8. https://www.pulsetoday.co.uk/news/clinical-areas/immunology-and-vaccines/gps-and-data-indicate-continued-rise-in-double-vaccinated-covid-cases/ "A weekly update from the ZOE study at King’s College London, said there were currently 15,537 new daily symptomatic cases in partly or fully vaccinated people, an increase of 40% from 11,084 new cases last week. By contrast in unvaccinated people in the UK there are currently an average of 17,581 new daily PCR-confirmed symptomatic cases of Covid, according to the ZOE figures, a drop of 22% from the week before. It suggests the number of new cases in the vaccinated population is set to overtake the unvaccinated in the coming days, the team noted." Of course, if 100% of people are vaccinated and there is 1 case then that means vaccinated people make up 100% of those with the disease, and gradually more people are having the vaccine - but with unvaccinated cases dropping and vaccinated cases increasing so quickly (faster than the speed of vaccine rollout), it seems to indicate that naturally acquired immunity is doing a better job than the vaccine. We are also seeing reduced deaths as a proportion of cases in this wave, but we are gaining natural immunity over time, its summer, and a proportion of those most susceptible to Covid have now passed on. Yet they will claim to have done a brilliant job introducing the vaccine and its been amazingly successful, blah blah. In related news: https://blogs.bmj.com/bmj/2021/01/04/peter-doshi-pfizer-and-modernas-95-effective-vaccines-we-need-more-details-and-the-raw-data/ Main takeaway from the above article: vaccine effectiveness estimated by unbiased 3rd party at 19-29%. Strong opinion alert: Prediction: Over the next year, our freedoms will be reduced and requirement for vaccine passports increased. Then Covid jabs will become a paid service with booster jabs required every few months to maintain valid vaccine passport status. We'll effectively have a nation of drug addicts. This will help to bolster the NHS balance sheet ready for final sale (anyone remember "Save The NHS" and those working in hospitals commenting on how quiet it was?), and those with shares / fingers in pharmaceutical pies will make huge wedges of cash. (Edit to add: I know I have been skeptical throughout this thread, but I am not anti vax in any way. However, when I am being told to do something (2 letters and 7 text messages now, and counting) by someone / something it makes me wonder why. So I start to research things for myself, and form what I hope to be an unbiased and rounded opinion, no matter which side of the fence that falls, and always be open to changing that with further information and research).

  12. That @Andy - a15cro bloke has started things with this camper van malarkey. I mentioned it to the wife and she says (paraphrasing) “go for it.” Im so shocked that I now have an official “buy a track day van/camper with my blessing” that I’m viewing the one Andy nearly bought tomorrow before she changes her mind 🤣

  15. I've been a F1 fan for over 50 years and I'm not a fan of arrogant, whining, sulky drivers so you know I'm not a Hamilton fan or a certain retired German driver who was Hamilton's role model. I agree with the stewards that Hamilton was more at fault than Max but where I disagree with the stewards is with the penalty. I find it ridiculous that he is given such a lenient penalty which allows him to make up all that time and then win the race after eliminating the only driver that is capable of beating him in a straight fight. Even his team mate can't do that, or isn't allowed too! I think maybe next time Max might be on the inside and go for the 10 second penalty!

  18. Yes the A35 was quite congested, so we arrived quite late. It was a good evening for walking along the quay, chatting to a few of the owners and looking at the boats too. By the time we'd had our fish and chips it was gone 9pm and I was one of the very last cars to leave so the trip home was very easy. It was getting cooler and there was a low mist gathering in the fields, a few deer appearing at the edge of the woods. A great afternoon and evening.

  19. It’s going to be different but it is what it is. if you want to come….come if you want to help……help if you think it’s not for you this time or have other plans……not an issue But we need to be positive and make the most of we can do, not be full of doom and gloom with the naysayers

  20. Nothing is NOT AN OPTION, so it’s pointless to even discuss. Our word as a Club has already been given to other parties (not Stoneleigh) for whom we’ve made clear commitments. It’s a question of what our amazing team can pull off in the time available, and what support the Club has from the members. There are many things, compressed time scales aside, that they need to take into consideration, but as soon as announcements are ready to be made, they’ll make them. We have sign up sheets as per usual, for volunteering, but again, until we know what Stoneleigh can provide, and precisely what format the event will operate in, we can’t set out the sign up forms. Please be patient, and please be understanding. The Club is aware that the timing will clash for some, is short notice for others, and that we will have members who do not feel able to attend events like that in person just yet. That’s OK.

  21. I don’t really want to enter into an argument but I feel that the members should simply accept with dignity what is offered by the club volunteers and not complain. Just be thankful that we have volunteers and an event to go to and enjoy.
