It's worth noting that anyone who registers on the forums, has access to the map, so please do not be too precise3 points

It’s going to be different but it is what it is. if you want to come….come if you want to help……help if you think it’s not for you this time or have other plans……not an issue But we need to be positive and make the most of we can do, not be full of doom and gloom with the naysayers3 points

Hi Folkes (relevant for anyone in South East Wales) was browsing the community map and say there is a couple of people in the near vicinity to me. Theres a couple others too but shown as sorns 😄 Anyway wondering if any one fancied meet up and taking a little pootle anywhere? Although my car appears to be doing 89 miles to 19ltrs of fuel so something must not be behaving itself 😅 Also quite fancy a trip to Llandow at some point this summer. Paul1 point

On my 4th now been running them since 2002 with no real issues. First two were rust buckets! the second one which was 10 mouths old, with 48000 on the clock when I had it had new prop, rear dampers & few springs chucked at it, but that’s about it apart from service parts etc & I had it for 8 years. The 3rd one which was a 116 duelinner on a 61 plate which I only swapped last year. I keep that about 8 years & the only issues I had with that was a pressure switch off the cat. Apart from that trouble free & rust free! Just changed it for an Auto which I find loads better than the manual (must getting old!) Never had any real issues & my local commercial Merc dealer as always been ok but I only use them when under warranty & never found parts that expensive. They also seem to hold there valve well.1 point

I'm running my 3rd Vito 66 plate . I've had it from new now with 120k miles. Super reliable. it's had new rear shocks and countless sets of discs and pads. It is a 7 speed auto which is now showing its age becoming slow to downshift. Economy is amazing . Averaged 38mpg over 120k miles and can achieve 50mpg below 60mph on motorways and I tow quite a bit. Very expensive to have serviced at Merc. It has Merc 5 year warranty and the first 3 years serving and maintenance was close to £10k. Merc customer service is appealing. The only real issue is the foot operated park brake is useless and needs regular adjustment . I can drive off with it fully engaged and it was only in for adjustment 6 weeks ago. The previous 2 Vitos were previous generation but still super reliable. Again run from new and sold at around 125k miles with no significant issues. Most euro 6 vans seem to have injector issues. This ban hasn't but our sprinters transporters and ivecos all have. If you're buying used try and get a leak down test done or budget for it and new injectors if you're worried.1 point

Personally I prefer puncture repair kits to cans of squirt. The reason is that with squirt, tyres are usually scrapped when presented to the local tyre shop. With external plugs they can often be repaired. I've been using Crafty Plugger tyre repair kits for more than two decades... well, when I say "using" I mean that I carry them with me on the bike and in the Westfield, along with a handful of CO2 cannisters, or you could carry a foot pump or lecky tyre compressor thingy. Note that the kit DOES NOT include the CO2, they will have to be bought separately along with a tyre valve adapter. I've actually deployed them twice and both times they have repaired the tyre adequately to get me home and allowed me to get the tyre repaired properly later. Of course if the Westfield is equipped with a spare wheel then this is all moot. Mine however, is sans spare so repair is the only way to avoid a tow home.1 point

Sorry to one and all... I didn't mean to offend but I was just thinking about what draws the WSCC crowd to the event Travelling big distances for some might seem too much. Can we not get a decent barbeque going and some decent beer for people to enjoy - even if we have to pay for it?? My Westy has been sold but I have some clutter to dispose of eg Westfield World's going back to the year dot. I'd be happy to bring these and more stuff down provided a donation was made to charity The lack of info from Grosvenor is unhelpful but I'm sure the organising team can sort something out. I remain confident that the WSCC can sort something out that will make the longer journeys so much more worthwhile.1 point

Nothing is NOT AN OPTION, so it’s pointless to even discuss. Our word as a Club has already been given to other parties (not Stoneleigh) for whom we’ve made clear commitments. It’s a question of what our amazing team can pull off in the time available, and what support the Club has from the members. There are many things, compressed time scales aside, that they need to take into consideration, but as soon as announcements are ready to be made, they’ll make them. We have sign up sheets as per usual, for volunteering, but again, until we know what Stoneleigh can provide, and precisely what format the event will operate in, we can’t set out the sign up forms. Please be patient, and please be understanding. The Club is aware that the timing will clash for some, is short notice for others, and that we will have members who do not feel able to attend events like that in person just yet. That’s OK.1 point

Welcome aboard Matt.. it's easier to join the club than put up with the constant badgering to join. 🙂 I enjoyed your Donny footage you gave me. 😎 .. and you weren't doing a bad job at Blyton either with your little 127 Shetland ponies. 😉 Just realised you've put your Blyton vid in the Donington thread..1 point
