Nothing is NOT AN OPTION, so it’s pointless to even discuss. Our word as a Club has already been given to other parties (not Stoneleigh) for whom we’ve made clear commitments. It’s a question of what our amazing team can pull off in the time available, and what support the Club has from the members. There are many things, compressed time scales aside, that they need to take into consideration, but as soon as announcements are ready to be made, they’ll make them. We have sign up sheets as per usual, for volunteering, but again, until we know what Stoneleigh can provide, and precisely what format the event will operate in, we can’t set out the sign up forms. Please be patient, and please be understanding. The Club is aware that the timing will clash for some, is short notice for others, and that we will have members who do not feel able to attend events like that in person just yet. That’s OK.9 points

I don’t really want to enter into an argument but I feel that the members should simply accept with dignity what is offered by the club volunteers and not complain. Just be thankful that we have volunteers and an event to go to and enjoy.9 points

It’s going to be different but it is what it is. if you want to come….come if you want to help……help if you think it’s not for you this time or have other plans……not an issue But we need to be positive and make the most of we can do, not be full of doom and gloom with the naysayers5 points

Selling my Westfield 11. A very special car in my opinion being one of the first cars ever to be produced at Westfield and ordered in red. 20k miles kit was purchased in 1982 and retains the 1967 age related plate that was fitted to the donar Mg. Power plant is a fully rebuilt 1600cc Lancia engine with larger cams and twin 40 Webber’s. Lots of interesting history with the car and lots of spares inc spare engine and gearbox. £22500 anymore information please contact me. located just north of Lichfield, staffs David 07836 22 55 064 points

Hi @Andy - a15cro as a former member of the Stoneleigh team, you're well aware of how much preparation goes in behind the scenes and the fact we typically start 5 months before the event. This event was only confirmed recently and we've not yet got clarity from the organisers as to where our stand is, let alone what Covid 19 rules / guidelines etc we will have to meet. We're not even sure if camping is allowed and what facilities will be available for those camping. The team are on it and we'll do our best to pull the event together in some shape or form. As soon as we've got clarity from the Organisers (Hopefully this week), we can then advise further and start our normal process of recruiting volunteers etc. We are well aware that the event clashes with the August bank holiday weekend and the Loton Round of the Speed Series too.4 points

The new Community Map is now installed and although it is still doing some processing in the background, it should have all the old data imported. I encourage everyone to have a look and update their marker to a location near, but not on their actual address. The map is after all visible to the outside world. Any questions? Ask!3 points

Sorry to one and all... I didn't mean to offend but I was just thinking about what draws the WSCC crowd to the event Travelling big distances for some might seem too much. Can we not get a decent barbeque going and some decent beer for people to enjoy - even if we have to pay for it?? My Westy has been sold but I have some clutter to dispose of eg Westfield World's going back to the year dot. I'd be happy to bring these and more stuff down provided a donation was made to charity The lack of info from Grosvenor is unhelpful but I'm sure the organising team can sort something out. I remain confident that the WSCC can sort something out that will make the longer journeys so much more worthwhile.1 point

If you've previously set a marker, then that stays the same. If you haven't set a marker, then it will take the town/city value which should be nicely generic (unless you happen to live in the dead center of that town!). You can set it to whatever you like though, just use the Update Location and start typing an address.1 point

I'm finally a member haha, fate finally brought me to the club meeting Andy randomly while carrying my nose cone out of my garage to my car as he was on a local building job, then Andrew & Scotty when I parked up next to them (randomly a space free next to them).... Donnington was great to try and keep up with Andrew 'need more power' 127bhp just isn't enough and some brave pills.... Blyton was great fun!! again trying to keep up with Andrew 😂1 point

i have just fallen lucky with a very good condition second hand on 3mx4.5 meters. fits over the car and back end of the trailer no problem. i have done a lot of looking about and i would suggest one that has the hexagonal legs as the square ones tend to break quite easiliy in anything more than a breeze. problem is everyone wants them at the moment for ouside pubs etc due to covid so everywhere seems to be sold out. https://www.galatent.co.uk/product/09176 https://www.hercules-gazebo.co.uk/product/hercules-gazebo-hex40-aluminium-3m-x-4-5m/ https://surfturf.co.uk/shop/shelters/canopro-elite/4-5m-x-3m-8/1 point

BBQ and a Hog roast is the social hinge pin for this club event in my opinion, it brings everyone together, McD’s wouldn’t work in all due respect. I’m sure a BBQ could be pulled together within budget and easily. I know this is unusual, times, however we have a great organising team who know how this event works, the volunteers know what we need to do even if it is a diluted version. The problem is it’s a very small window to pull it together and so far there doesn’t seem to be any direction or momentum. We as club members and the ‘volunteering team’ are standing by eager to make it work but at the minute I’m honestly wondering if the long trip down from the north east is going to be worth it, and that’s when the wheels fall off as I’m sure I’m not alone.1 point

We will have a designated area for camping for the club members who volunteer to help with the organisation. Usually we are in the marquee until late and previously with an organised BBQ, but sadly not this year!1 point

It was Simon. I get the feeling though as all days now are rammed full, quieter days will be few and far between. There were a few "experience" cars running too, which doesn't help with the traffic flow. Too may queues forming behind them. Second vid. Chasing after a BMW Z3 (is it?) as he bullies his way through the traffic, followed by a bit of Megablade Matt, (That could be his new username if he's reading this. 😉) and a lap or so of clearish track at the end.1 point
-
Ha ha.. I did ask if he'd been badgered to join the club much, and he may have mentioned you? Nice bloke. 👍1 point
-
Good to see you had a good day. Lad in the Megablade was called Matt who lives down the road from me who I keep pestering to join the club.1 point

Hoping to come the night before but my brownie points are drastically deminishing at the moment1 point

Yeah that does look the most likely option. I did however end last week with no functioning indicators at the rear, so hopefully new looms and connectors will rectify this, if not I will have to skip this one.0 points
