What a great weekend, very big thanks to all those involved in the organisation particularly @Terry Everall - WSCC Competition Secretary & Ron Siddle who headed it all up. With all the other people who turn up and give of their time and energy to make the weekend happen. The smiles on everyone's face always shows what a successful weekend it has been. Fantastic fun to get back driving a Westfield after 16 years and a road going one as well, thanks to everyone for their help in sorting the teething problems getting a car I've only owned for 10 days going, but got there and made every run, success 👍 Congratulations to @Alex Gaskin on doing brilliantly well on his first Sprint and deservedly winning the Novice Trophy, cracking job, well done. Now, when's the next one4 points

Tim Coventry's hillclimb and sprint car isn't the Flymo albeit it was quite similar in appearance and also had a John Eales V8 engine. - Tims car was specifically developed for hillclimb and sprint use and used by Tim for a small number of years in British Hillclimb Championship, before finding a new home in the Midlands (being driven by N. Clark & I. Stinton) and campaigned in the WSCC Speed Series at this time it was resprayed "Subaru Blue". Tim was perhaps more well known for his yachting, developing the laser class boats, he also worked for a very short time as Westfield Ltd PR, before going back to work within the sailing world. "The Flymo" was originally developed as a GT race car (yellow in colour) to compete in the Brit GT by Mike Smith and driven by Tony Lanfranchi .... then went into storage for quite a few years - there is quite a lot of history of this car on the internet. Again, this car was driven for a few seasons in the WSCC Speed Series becoming a championship winning car in the hands of T. Green (one of the founders of the championship and first WSCC Comp Sec) before being sold to fellow driver J. Tomlinson who refurbished the car and sprayed it black, was then sold on again a few years later. The Flymo name was given to the car at a sprint event at MIRA when Tom had a major spin whilst approaching the control tower spinning several times through the grassed run-off area giving the grass a trim, this featured in the speed series newsletter and the name stuck.2 points

Brand new, never used, just had it out of the bag for first time to check (it's perfect). These are considered the best shower caps for kit cars. Unfortunately the owners have closed their business so these cannot be bought new anymore. £50 plus £4.20 (small parcel) p&p.1 point

I see now, you actually have Tim's road car that he used for a number of hillclimb events ? rather than his Hillclimb special car that was built by the factory, which was never road registered. 😉 There are two Tim Coventry cars and it seems you have his first road-going unit that he used for a few hillclimb events, before his non-road going car was manufactured - he used John Eales V8 in both with his second non-road going special having even more BHP. Two different cars, one original owner. His Hillclimb special is the one that was repainted blue and still owned by Ian and Neil. Tim never competed in the WSCC Speed Series.1 point

Well what a busy weekend. congratulation to @Terry Everall - WSCC Competition Secretary and Rocket Ron for the outstanding organisation, along with Nigel in the paddock and the chuckle brothers on the start line @Garry Bunn - Derby & Notts AO+ @Delboy by the end of the weekend i was quite fedup with getting in and out of the car but that only means we had plenty of runs. new tyres for me for this event thanks to @Triple M Motorsport @Muggofor getting them on the rims for the weekend. PB's on both days, what seemed like a mamouth task 4 years ago in my little crossflow posting times of 85 seconds around the outer track has now seen me in 2 new cars and a pb of 62.93. very happy chap unfortunatly terry strapped his balls on and managed an astounding time of 62.63 and won our W3 class. thanks to @Peteroconnoras well for the great competiotion over the weekend. cracking competion, cracking banter, how about we do it all bigger and better next year.1 point

Just back from the workshop dropping my car off and now going for a well needed shower. Cracking weekend, thoroughly enjoyed it, I’d like to take the opportunity on behalf of myself, Anna and I’m sure everyone else there to the organisers and helpers. I must give a big personal thanks to Nigel who is always very welcoming and helpful at every event We have been to and never stopped both Saturday and Sunday keeping the racers flowing to the start. I’m sure without him we would have been a shambles! 😁1 point

Cracking weekend as ever, thanks for your company. Thanks too, to the organisers, to my brother for supplying home brewed beer and the marshals and support crew for making it happen. Apologies for the delay to the track day due to rescuing my bent car, thankfully no one hurt and relatively simple repair.1 point
