Hi all, I’ve just rejoined WSCC after a short break of some 14 or 15 years, and purchased a 1999 MegaBlade from Banchory in Scotland, whilst the blade is not quite the same as the Busa as far as torque, it reminds me of how loud everything is, and how much fun they are to drive, my plan is to sort its issues out first, which mainly seem to be electrical, then over the winter, engine out, new powder coated floor, full spanner check and poss few upgrades. Does anyone know who has previously owned this car? ( 1st pic/red car) Also, is my old MegaBusa still around, pretty sure the guy that bought it and the trailer lived down in Devon or Taunton? (2nd pic blue car) I recognise a few names when I was doing the Speed Series, #TerryEverall I’m sure there are many more who stayed in the fold, looking forward to perhaps meeting you in the future. I am not sure where to put this on the forum but I felt it important to share. So last night whilst out in the car taking advantage of the break in the weather. It hit me... I had only finger tightened the front wheel nuts after changing the calliper bleed nipples the night before. This occurred to me whilst doing what can only be described as Millennium Falcon speed. IT WAS QUITE SIMPLY THE MOST SCARY, MUD BUTTON TWITCHING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I came to a stop and luckily after 20 miles of driving they where still finger tight..... lessons learned are as follows. When you get in the car to go for a drive follow this process: 1. ask yourself did I fully complete the last job I did on the car because sometimes enthusiasm gets the better of us. 2. check the fuel tank level visually, calibrating the tank is an art form. 3. check the brake lights work as intended, that pressure switch is not ideal. I WAS LUCKY LAST NIGHT. REALLY LUCKY.3 points

Agree And if it used only 1st part of postcode, then location is an area rather than pinpoint so what issue is that!2 points

The Stoneleigh show is the 28th and 29th August. After last year’s show was cancelled, this is an opportunity to get together, meet old friends and enjoy the best kit car show in the country. Our stand will be as good as ever, with some slight changes. Our marquee supplier has gone out of business, so we will have a smaller, more affordable marquee. Tea and coffee and cake will still be provided, but no hog roast this year. Overnight camping is available as always. Westfield Sports Cars will have a stand in one of the halls, always good to have a chat with the factory and they usually bring along parts at discounted prices, just as a temptation. So the date for your diary is 28th and 29th August, see you there. John.1 point

Just bought a Triumph Thruxton R, 2 years old with 6miles on clock, Poor guy that bought it brand new had it delivered and had severe back issues and never got the chance to even do a quick burl round the block, Dealership bought it back, Ive always liked the look of these, A few month ago my dad (75 years old) bought a 2014 Bonneville and after a quick blast i just couldnt resist, Handling way exceeded my expectations, Was a spur of the moment buy and im well happy, Ive only done around 100miles but luv the thing, Mods started already 😀 Think this ones going to be a keeper, Anyone on here have or had one?1 point

I just use @Simon Waterfall Syman84 to check the wheel nuts on Lionel - if he comes into the paddock at Cadwell complaining of it handling strangely, they’re loose!1 point

I just liked looking at spread of members across the world and how many countries Westfields have reached. As for data protection rules being breached, that doesn’t make sense as members can include their location in their profile voluntarily. For a small cost please bring it back.1 point

I use a sewing machine to power the Westfield now so can just lift it out and do t need one 😂🤣😂1 point

As Dave said - new version required following forum update. New version is a paid add-on. So the committee need to decide if it’s something worth paying for (taking into account that only one person has asked about it in the last year 🤔)1 point

Oooo, that's @AndrewBClarke, @aeg and @Andy Westwood, the 3 Andy's are coming, does that mean we must have the Great British CAKE off? Most car clubs have a bit of rivalry over who has the biggest bhp, here in the Peak District this lot get jealous over who has the biggest slice of cake. Apparently you have the advantage if your name is Andy. So will it be Andy Westwood, who is the favourite, aeg who is the young pretender or will ABC sneak in under the radar to claim the title?1 point

Hi , im new to this and have a few questions , be blunt no offence taken ! Do I just go ahead and book as a camping kit car driver or do I book in association with the club? Is there opportunity to put car on WSCC display stand? is there any help needed as I’m going alone and I’m happy to help set up and/or be present on the stand through out weekend? thanks rich1 point

This is in the 'pinned ' topic at the start of this section but it seems not many read it, but can I respectively say to all that sell parts , can you please as soon as is possible add SOLD or NO LONGER AVAILABLE or whatever is applicable to the topic title. I was quite disappointed to discover an advert placed had actually sold two days before I first saw it. If the seller can't add it, then can the confirmed buyer add a post to the same effect.1 point

Day 2 started with a fantastic breakfast, just the thing to soak up the celebrations of England's 4-0 win the night before. There were a few sore heads! We had an impromptu photoshoot by the great waitress who looked after us and just happened to be a professional photographer, thank you Charmagne Haxby Photography, photos will be on here as soon as possible. Straight out of the car park and up Chimney Bank, the steepest road in Britain and over the moors to Thirsk, via Helmsley and Sutton Bank where we said our goodbyes and headed for home. A great weekend, great people, great staff at the hotel and a great tribute to @BugMan. Pity he missed it, he would have loved it.1 point

Wow out for 11 hours today with John and Kermit. What a brilliant day, the forecast said dry with a possible rain showers but off we went heading to applecross on the west coast. Fuelled up and stopping for a bacon roll we headed north and then westwards, on brilliant open sweeping roads through the glens, a wee bit of iffy road surface just before strathcarron where it was refuel and a nature break, before heading over applecross pass where to our surprise we got a clear blast up to the car parks, brilliant. From here it was on to applecross and then upto shieldig apart from a bike holding us up a wee bit there was again very little traffic to impede our progress. On towards kinlochewe and some very courteous drivers allowed us to have some fun along the way…. Then disaster…… the cake shop is no more 😪 so we had soup and coffee before turning east and heading homewards. We did stop off in Forres where we had a chippy and ice cream to make up for no cake lol All in all a brilliant day out with a great mix of driving, scenery and excellent company, happy days1 point

Pleased with my work. Just replaced poorly fitted rubber edging on the rear wheel arch protectors. Liked this edging on a fellow members car. All the best HB1 point

John and “Kermit” arrived at 8.45 this morning and after a wee conflab we decided it was up to Beauly ( breakfast for the best melba toast with berries bananas, bacon and maple syrup) then up to Ullapool ( fuel) then we stopped at a viewpoint and back on some cracking single track road to Bonar Bridge, and over the Struie to Muir of Ord . Then homeward bound we stopped at the chippie in Forres to discover they did an all day breakfast 😂 then got home at 5.45 A great day out of mixed driving and fantastic scenery, and a big thanks to John for his company and knolage of some cracking roads up north .1 point

MOT day today so went down to Wantage MOT Centre as usual. When I got there, I was able to park next to a lovely R reg (1976/1977) Lotus Elan +2S in beautiful original condition. The interior is particularly gorgeous with oatmeal leather, burr walnut dash, lots of proper round instruments - I know, I'm going on, now!. I have broached the subject with Mrs Marks who has forbidden me to even think of having another car! Trevor's comment at the garage was "I thought the Elan was low!"1 point

May 3rd, 2021 Spend: £0.00 Been at it (nose cone and scuttle) with the DA polisher and some more Fine 3M Perfect-It gelcoat polish but it does really need a coarser cut. Something to do during the winter May 7th, 2021 Spend: £5.14 Received the pillars back from Westfield and took a punt at fitting. Had to re-drill one pillar hole and the new pillars do not follow the scuttle as nice as the older version, but the extra space offered by the screen hight is absolutely perfect. May 23rd, 2021 Spend: £35.00 Bought a set of wind deflectors on the forums and fitted those today. Have yet to try them out, but have good hope they work as designed. Last month: £ 2595.70 This month: £ 40.14 ----------+ Total: £ 2635.841 point
